Transcriptionist is very hard. The customer, usualy a doctor, speaks very, very fast when they record. You have to know what all the medical terms are. And many foreign doctors have accents that can be hard to understand. Plenty of opportunities though, since no one does this for long.

Thanks for sharing these remote job options, Shane! The virtual assistant role sounds interesting, especially for people with experience managing social media or scheduling appointments. One question I have is - are there specific platforms or certifications that can help someone stand out as a VA? I've been managing social media for my local community center for a few years now, and I'd love to leverage that experience into a remote gig.

I follow you and try the websites that your suggesting and so far no luck at all . I am educated and have a degree in business and I am a certified paralegal. I worked for big name firms like Baxter Health and Comcast and law firms and a title insurance firm. I have 7 years of remote experience. I really need a job. Please advise . Thank you

Yes, applying online with 100s of other people doing the same is just not very effective these days. They probably get tons of resumes. Remote jobs seem very competitive. I would suggest networking, building professional relationships with people, handing out resumes in person, going to hiring events, etc. That should increase your chances, if you think this strategy would work for you.
@sandra1761Ай бұрын
Oh, and another strategy could be applying to jobs through niche job search websites. There’s less competition there.
@Brom2855Ай бұрын
@@sandra1761 Hate to rain on your parade, but networking, professional relations, giving resume in person, and hiring events aren't any good because so many of the jobs and "opportunities" turn out little more than shams. The wokeism cancer of DEI--designed to prevent hiring White men--has also set off many cases of unqualified workers causing trouble, like recent Australian tanker totaled by its lesbian captain.
@magicparkmemoriesАй бұрын
@@Brom2855 I agree with you. I did attend job fairs and they do not even accept your resume and tell you to apply online . I see no purpose in job fairs. Networking does not even exist anymore . People are out for themselves .

@lamoinette23Күн бұрын
you have to search the online job sites.. like the example mentioned, Glassdoor.. search for it, sign ups to use as the jobs are not visible otherwise, and use the keywords he's mentioning.. *virtual assistant* - *transcriptionist* - *online tutor* etc.

Can you post some leads on where to do Online Language Tutoring? This is something that I've wanted to do for many years but can't find any jobs that don't require experience or a high level teaching certificate. There are ESL jobs with children, but they don't pay well. I want to work with adults.

I can't find any company that actually hires you for having English conversation with people . Is this a job where you met the only 1 person that said they did this? Do you actually have a company name that hires you for this? It really sounds kinda of made up, especially since I can't find a company. I tried sending you a more pvt message, but no luck in FB, so had to in public, asking for your help

Is environmental science a good degree? I’m very interested in it and I also enjoy psychology but I’m not sure if finding a job is easy for environmental science. The problem with psychology is I don’t want to be a psychiatrist, therapist, etc.
@armslengthawayАй бұрын
Industrial Psychology, Organizational Psychology or a combination of both is an option but you need an advanced degree. Get the company you work for to help pay for your degree with their tuition reimbursement program is the ideal situation. A lot of companies have an Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Change Management, HR, Learning, etc departments so you aren’t siloed in one department
@Floral_skies2727Ай бұрын
@@armslengthawaythanks! I’ll check these out. Isn’t this basically just a degree of instructing people though? It sounds nice since I like helping others
@armslengthawayАй бұрын
That is one avenue you can do in a corporate or consulting environment, but there is a lot of growth with the degree(s). A person isn’t siloed so you can go into many different areas. Take a look at SIOP or Society of Industrial Organizational Psychology.
