Varig254 ended up literally off course because they input the wrong heading Copa201 crashed because the captain's gyro short circuited SilkAir 185 remains a mystery because despite concrete evidence that Tsu Way Ming deliberately crashed the plane, the others think it was mechanical failure Lamia2933 fuel ran out and crashed Garuda152 was misleaded because another aircraft has the same number as the accidental flight

Varig254 - The heading was inputted incorrectly, as a new format was used, it displayed "0270" which the pilot read as heading 270 (West), when in fact, it was 027 (North)

Green Dot Aviation, Mentour Pilot, and Disaster Breakdown are all great channels- they cover a lot of these crashes, and use simulators to show some really great graphics, and they explain exactly what led up to the accident. this channel only has so many full length episodes, but most of these crashes are covered on these other channels as well.

Why is it that all these crashes occur on Middle East, Asian or South America/Central American Airlines? Is it training? Maintenance? That SFO 777 short of runway crash comes to mind. It’s almost as though the Asian pilots especially believe that it’s a video game and rely heavily on autopilot Vs hand flying.

poor infrastructure- several crashes in another countries are actually debated because that country's investigators don't agree with the NTSB. SilkAir 185, for example. it's believed the pilot actually intentionally crashed the plane , but the investigators won't agree. protecting their reputation is more important than the safety of passengers. understaffed tower control, language difficulty (English is standard in aviation, but I've seen several crashes that occur because there are miscommunications with foreign speaking crew and the tower, are all more reason for crashes to happen in those areas.
