Great stuff you guys. Got an interesting question. 12 tm hppr SF dynasty start 10. Last year's Champ. There are two possible trades on the table. Trade A: Give ETN + 1.12, Get N. Collins + 1.06. Trade B: Give 1.11 + 1.12 + Roshon Johnson, Get Flowers + 1.10 (I'd ask for 2.03 or 25 2nd back). What Trade do you prefer?

I took Maye at the 1.06 (SF) today and Penix fell to the 2.06. I didn’t need Penix have Stroud and Dak but felt like I had to take him based on value. Would you take him there even without need or go another direction? (Brooks, Benson and Corum all off the board)

Crazy, I took bowers in a TE Premium at 1.03. He is a generational talent and Getsy will utilize him properly just like he did Kmet off wheel routes and bowers slam release will be perfect off for that offense is run, especially if he’s in open field

No issue with the player, and if you’re league has high value priority on TEs go nuts (even tho 1.03 is still steep in our opinions unless it’s an extremely heavy premium). In our leagues tho, the TE market is cooked

The conversation around TE v. WR v. QB upside should also consider probability for each specific player. Hypothetically: If Bowers has a 80% chance of becoming a top 5 round startup pick and a 95% of becoming a top 10 round startup pick; If McCarthy has a 20% chance of becoming a top 1 round startup pick and a 40% chance of becoming a top 3 round startup pick and a 75% chance of becoming a top 10 round startup pick; Then it may make sense to draft Bowers over McCarthy even though McCarthy has a higher upside range.

Great point Forsure, the range of outcomes is tight for Bowers but the ceiling for overall startup value is still limited at that position, risk averse drafters definitely should draft him but it’s also true imo that TEs take time to develop and sometimes start slow which presents risk also

I like this take a lot because it makes me think about how if both Brian Thomas Jr. and Brock Bowers were available, I might take Brock if I don't have a positional need because he has a higher chance of maintaining or increasing in value. People are typically more patient with the development of TEs and the value of the position typically lasts longer, just as the actual players do in the actual NFL.

I think it’s also important to point out that these videos should factor in your league economy. I play in a 1qb 1.5 team premium dynasty league and a sf 2.0 te prem league. Both of these leagues have a huge price tag for tes. I agree to an extent of this video but again league economy is the most important factor imo.

Absolutely, mentioned that in the Bowers point that it’s specifically in a non or slight premium format. If you’re in a heavy TEP or a league economy that values TEs extremely high, absolutely you can take him higher. In our personal experience, our SF 1.5 TEP leagues just don’t have much of a liquid TE market

I'm in a 1 QB and went after 3 of these guys. I took Bowers 1.05. Had a ton of picks this draft so wasn't worried about missing out on WRs. (added Nabers, Ladd, Pearsall, Legette, Burton (2.09). Daniels I scooped up at the 2.06, 1 QB 3 WR format is a very different landscape. Maye actually fell to 3rd round. Also guys in my league horde TE, I was stuck with Taysom, Otton and Juwan before

I'm playing in a 12 team SF TEP (0.5) Start 11 league where I wound up with Kelce, Andrews, Hockenson, and Musgrave in the 2023 startup just because people do not value TE's. I played Andrews and Hockenson in 2 of the 3 Flex slots, when healthy, and was in 1st place before Andrews injury. I have picks 1.05 and 1.08, and strength of my team is QB and TE. However, I feel like I will wind up drafting Maye and Bowers just because of value. I am trying to make trades/trade down, but so far no luck, and draft starts in 36 hours.

For what it's worth, in my auction dynasty startup with a $400 budget, Maye went for $50 (won by me) and Daniels went for $25. And in my other league, 1.04 went Maye and 1.05 went Daniels. I think Maye is starting to catch Daniels in perceived value, as imo he should.

@ChronicDankies Not everyone is, it's with some people from College some do not know much, some know a TON. One guy legit spent his 3.03 this year on JORDAN TRAVIS when Pearsall and all of the round 2 wrs except coleman and mcconkey were on the board. Honestly everyone else knows what they're doing for the most part. Most people focused on Javon Baker, Sanders, Corley, Roman Wilson, and Troy Franklin I found either at the end of the 3rd or on waivers, rather than those 2 rbs and burton for some reason

I don't get the dynasty value of a QB prospect over a TE prospect in a 1QB league. Literally had the 6th pick in dynasty and all the top wide receivers went ahead of me and it was easy to pull the trigger on Bowers. Especially with having Kittle and Henry as my TEs, Mahomes and Stroud as my QBs, and Jefferson, Pittman, Waddle, McLaurin, Sutton, Meyers as my WRs. I would have loved to have Odunze or someone else like Trey Benson at 1.06 but Bowers was there and he was the best skill position player available.

JD is consensus 1.03 because most teams that own the 1.03 are not good teams and may really need a qb. Even if Nabors is more of a guarantee, he still doesn't play QB...the most valuable position in SF. I traded up specifically for Nabors at 1.03, and could not bring myself to take him over JD because JD is more valuable and I could trade for Nabors plus after just a couple good games. How how can you say it was a bad landing spot? Kingsbury is who made Kyler as successful as he was. Mclauren, Dotson, Ekeler, Zach Erts...the o line will get help. But wow, JD is in a great landing spot, and a huge reason why he is going 1.03
