This was a tough video for a content creator to put out. Leagues can vary incredibly wildly and some guys are going to come into this comment section and bash you for totally robbing dudes blind or just see this as total nonsense. But, the points you made and how you organized it with personal examples was very valuable for a lot of people that I know that are in fantasy leagues. Somewhat brave honestly. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the content bud. Maybe we can get a trade done some time soon.

Great content. Unfortunately most guys are more concerned with ‘winning’ a trade than winning a league. As strange as it sounds, and it’s not easy, I try to be willing to let them believe they are ‘winning’ the deal, at least temporarily. Last year I sold Pollard before the season for a late 1st. Caveat was I wanted Kyren Williams off his IR before he played a down last year. You have to be willing to gamble to be an active trader.

I can attest that sometimes "losing" a trade can be a win. I made big moves to make Mahomes and Allen my two QBs in SF league. I sent away a package with a bunch of high value assets like Andrews, Chubb, Evans, Trey Lance, Javonte (while they all had high value). The next season, I won and my team looked ridiculously good for long term.

My new league year just started a week ago. There have been 3 trades in the league all of which involved me. I traded Michael Pittman and Isaiah Likely for Tyler Lockett, Christian Kirk, Dalton Kincaid, and the 3.11. I traded 2.05 and 3.05 for the 2.01. Finally, I made a trade kind of like your JJ trade. Jonathan Taylor and the 2.10 for Rachaad White, the 3.02, and a 2025 1st.

Appreciating what your trading partner needs and what their team's situation is is so critical to trading, and so many managers miss that boat completely. I had a really deep rebuild where in 2022 I was offered Travis Kelce for my 2023 1st (1.02), my 2024 1st (1.01) and Jahan Dotson. And then in another deep rebuild earlier this year, I was offered Josh Allen for the 1.01, 1.07, and 1.09 - maybe not crazy in a vacuum, but what good is Allen going to do me on a team that otherwise stinks?

You can pull off trades like that when you appeal exactly to what your leaguemate is gunning for when they’re selling JJ
@adrianstone6978 ай бұрын
I have a hard time imagining this is a real trade with an experienced player. Jefferson is 1 year older than Olave. And if you're selling him off for JJ McCarthy, then you can't make the argument that he's hurt by his QB situation moving forward

It doesn't matter where Maye/Daniels got drafted in your rookie draft. Daniels has more value in every other metric. He fleeced you in that trade. Daniels is going higher in startups and in every other rookie comparison and went higher in the actual draft.

In a league where rookie picks are valued very very tightly. Do I just buy young vets for a potential pick discount because I can’t sell at a good price to collect an abundance of picks?

There is a guy in my league who is impossible to trade with because he does always want to fleece me. Or, if he doesn't like my offer, he never counters. In fact, it's near impossible to get him to give any feedback at all in trade discussion. It will be short comments like, "dont like it." It's lile he wants me to do his part of the negotiations for him.

I’m trying to trade for a 2nd RB to go along with Gibbs, even tho I have ETN. I’m worried ETN will take a step back and I’m tryna to turn him into JT. What do you think I should do? I’m a contending team so I’m willing to give a first plus some. I drafted Jonathan Brooks as well this year.
@FootballHighIQ8 ай бұрын
Also a 1QB league if that changes any perspective regarding picks

I personally like the ETN and 1st plus side of the deal over JT. Not a big enough tier jump for me. I like Brooks as your RB3.

Interesting trade I had happen in 2023 season in week 2. 2-0 person traded this to my team 0-2 He gets, Aaron jones, kupp, Rashee rice. 2025 2nd rounder, 2 2025 3rds For I get, Jamhyr Gibbs, 2024 (1.01) 1st rounder, 2025 1st rounder People tend to get carried away with their record early/ after a draft

Oh man dude Kyler is worth worlds more than that. I would need at least an early first with Levis to send Kyler away and even then I might be scratching my head. Levis could lose the job mid-season and even more likely, lose his job next season with the Titans taking a QB in 25’. Kyler is locked in with the contract and just got Marv and Benson to go with McBride. No way Jose

People get weird about star players. Whenever they are traded away for a reasonable price, people act like the person selling the star player got ripped off. Olave and the 1.07 (plus upgrade to 2.05) is pretty reasonable. Could someone get more for JJ? Yes. But the trade was fair. People just think guys like JJ have to receive an overpay.

Too many have early draft picks way over rated. At the rate of failure on even 1st round picks, proven nfl stars are by far worth more and that grows the younger and/or more impactful that star player is. Harrison is indeed an appealing prospect, but we don’t know if he will be the top receiver on his own team yet, let alone provide production that our fantasy team can use and that is the likely 1:1 rookie in most dynasty drafts. What I like about picks is it gives the opportunity to draft what could be problematic or even impossible to trade for otherwise. But even strong savvy drafters have to kiss many many frogs before finding such a gem. Dynasty means you are looking to build and build successfully over the long term, but it does not change that winning now is always more valuable than hoping for later. That tidbit gets forgotten when you play many leagues and become more numb to the highs and lows of winning/losing long term, because there is always another league.
