Some great tips! Now I just want to see you do a few strokes with the balloon, drumstick and carrot all at the same time 🤣🤣. OK, maybe not the carrot! Thanks!

appreciate the tips and balanced perspectives! thanks! any videos on barefoot rowing (bonus points for barefoot and strapless)? cheers

To be honest, I've not seen any. I'll add this to my research list - see what's out there, and maybe make one about the benefits of it. The Technique Hacks 2 video does go into the benefits of strapless rowing - if you've not seen that.

Helpful video. When is the ideal time for the stuck to fall? Should you wait until knees are fully extended ? What is the cue to initiate the swing back ? If I wait for knees to be flat it seems a little jerky and not fluid. But maybe that is better than initiating the hip hinge too early ??
@rowalong3 жыл бұрын
I’m trying to work out what you mean by “Stuck to Fall”. Typo? Once your legs are about halfway through the leg drive, that’s when to swing over your back. Essentially, what you’re trying to do is to push with the legs - and then when your legs get to a point where the power output starts to fade, that’s when you swing over your back to add in some power, and then as your legs continue to fade, you add in the arm pull. Usually, that initial fade happens when your legs are halfway. And then, for the end of the stroke, you want your legs to come down fully (but don’t lock out your knees). It may help to think about pointing your toes to the front of the machine at the back of the stroke in order to get those legs all the way down. What to do, if you’re on a concept2 is to switch the display to the force curve, and see how it reacts to your stroke. The ideal is a nice high curve without bumps.

Sorry. It was a typo. I meant “the stick to fall” as in your demo with the drum stick ... sorry for confusion

So I shouldn’t wait till my knees are straight and legs fully extended ? It feels more fluid if I start the hip hinge sooner. So good to know. I just need to find the sweet spot between too soon and too late .

Rowed a “competitive “ hour the other day. First time rowing in socks. Took loads of skin off my right heel. Knew there was an issue, but didn’t want to stop. Might be worth watching out for. Carrot up your jacksie 😂

That’s the Citius Remex PRow. I used it for about 5 months and then sold it. It didn’t really do anything that rowing with a good posture didn’t fix.

Would appreciate if you re-posted these types of videos because they are difficult to search for. Re-posting to bring it forward on the video list, and remind us old salts to look at this stuff….or mention the video in your chatting, and put a link to it in you comments?

I’ve often wondered exactly that. Should I make a 2021 (or 2022) update / reversion of this in order for new people to stumble upon it? So, thanks to your post, I will. Once I’m done with the 30 days thing and picked up the sessions I need to re-record for the 10K plan, I’ll start working through my to-do list, including this one.
