Great video! I was writer, designer and director of Road to Wrestlemania in SVR 09-11. When you make alternate paths and losing endings, you hope people see them. Like either giving Vince my old finishing move (Uber Driver) through a table OR making him do the chicken dance at the end of the CAW story in SVR10. (That chicken dance song cost us $10,000, I heard). Also, it’s just fun to revisit those moments I saw from idea to script to mocap to execution. And of course, it’s worth noting WWE had approval on all story content.

In my opinion, the WWE games had far too few alternate storylines/endings/continuations where your character lost and the story continued without a "Game Over" or a "Try Again" result. It would make plenty more immersive storylines and could help to make players more invested.

I sorta wish someone would make a series in these games where they go in to universe mode and up after the games Road to Wrestlemaina. Like when Cole says Randy Orton might lose the war, would love to see the end to that story and the rest of the year for WWE. Or when HBK “retires” how someone might finish that story with him potentially coming back. Feel like that would be very fun to watch

Surprised to see so many fans of Road to Wrestlemania. I always thought the character choice was too limited, and the stories were too cheesey. I miss classic Here Comes The Pain or even Raw 2 story mode. Felt like there was always more options in those.

I always think it’s cool when Vince McMahon voices himself in video games or cartoons. I hope Career Mode continues on the way it does so we can get more wrestlers getting to voice themselves. It’s a cool thing they get to do. ps i’m laughing so hard at the disciples fighting dolph, it’s so out of the blue and unlike them

For me the best game was No Mercy on N64. Sadly it had a bug that ruins something. But there were so many paths to go, so many decisions to make. After Royal Rumble you got different ways for winning it, „losing it“ if you were the last guy eliminated, or being eliminated earlier.

Edge's win in his Road to Wrestlemania made me feel sick. I did not enjoy being that kind of heel at all. "I enjoy face more" I can enjoy being a heel, just not that one.
