I thought this was an excellent interview. She was great and very informative. Great job! Don't clap back at egnorance. "If you spit at dirt it becomes mud that eventually stains you." They are not worth your time. This podcast is a priceless expose on career consulting.

It all comes down to your age. If you're a recent graduate at 21 or 22, concentrate solely on making money for the next eight years. Work hard- the more hours you put in, the more money and experience you'll gain, making your life easier after 30. Keep in mind: money doesn’t just bring happiness; money is happiness!

@@soukaynaaroui2693 It's really up to the individual my man, and I'm not sure if that 30 year old person is you but there’s no clear-cut answer-it all depends on what you want. Take right now, for example: you're in your 30s. If I asked you, what do you want to do with your life? do you have an answer?will you tell me , yeah , getting married? Getting a divorce? Losing weight? Gaining weight? getting a promotion at work Or maybe just staying home and doing nothing? The answer lies with you. What *do* you want? Once you figure that out, everything in the “my goal is set and i know what i want to do in my life now” department will fall into place.

Like many other consulting firms, McKinsey neglects the well-being of its employees, who often work tirelessly and bear significant economic risks. Many managers engage in unethical behavior, deceiving their employees and prioritizing their own interests. It's troubling to see that employees often bear the burden of financing high bonuses for top management, who readily implement layoffs during economic downturns without considering the harmful health and psychological effects on their employees.

It is very much a useless part of the economy. It gets rid of the organic process of companies and governments trying to internally figure out how to actually do their job well. I used to understand hiring consultants if they were retired from an industry or if a company was trying to implement a system they had no prior experience with or infrastructure but at this point it’s just being used as fall guys to make irresponsible decisions and then the executives exit the explosion they caused with a golden parachute.

This video is fascinating! I've always been curious-why do people choose management consulting as a career path? From what I've observed, only a few seem to leverage the experience for greater career success, while many seem to move on and search for jobs elsewhere after a few years. Do you think the sacrifices of consulting-long hours, high pressure-are worth it in the long run? I'd love to hear your experiences or thoughts-what’s your take?

The interviewee mentioned LevelsFYI and consulting salaries, but when compared to high-tech positions these days, they seem much lower. I’m curious-what do you think makes consulting worth it despite the salary gap? Is it the experience, the network, or something else?

Questions you should ask before working for McKinsey: (1) Why is everyone in their 20s? (2) If the firm has existed for 100 years, what happened to the people who 'used to work here' who are older than 20? (Quit? . . . Digested by alien owners?) . . . (3) Why is it that the extroverts at McKinsey talk as if they 'know' what they are saying, but if you read back a transcript of their speech, they are saying 'nothing' . . . (4) When I learn that the firm was just fined nearly a billion dollars for "drug dealing" (look it up), do I think, (A) I don't want to work for drug dealers, or (B) If they can pay a Billion dollar fine, then they should be able to pay me!

There are 2 primary reasons why consulting firms are engaged (having spent a decade at a Big 4)- 1. Internal firm politics, leadership at a client firm engages consulting companies to validate their own roadmap. If everything eventually goes well, they take the laurels and if the execution fails they can blame it on consulting company 2. To better understand what’s going on at firms.

It's not advisable to start a video holding a microphone. It gives an unprepared impression easily. Also, waving it while speaking weakens body language and dilutes language power.
