Promise to: 1. Take the nail out of your head. * These can be: - Bad habits - Unresolved past experiences - “Rules” or “Assumptions” - Fear * Speak truth which we indeed have these nails. Acknowledge. * Everything you want is on the other side of “Worst First”. (Often on the other side which you currently fear on.) 2. Follow your Energy (not your passion) * Concept of Nine Lives - imagine 9 parallel universes to partake in. - 1st Life will be the one which you are doing at this very moment. The rest will primarily be imagined as through what gives you vehement excitation. (ie. at X Life will be what you wanted to be, hobbies, learning and trying out new skills, etc.) - Rule #1 : They all have to start today. - Rule #2 : Find things you are excited about. - As you’re in Path 1, pull something in from one of your other lives. - To put halt of fear, hence, to follow your energy: What would l do if l knew l would not fail? - The human soul needs something to hope for. 3. Go all in. Now. - “Until one is committed there is always hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.” - Our inner critics’ most dangerous words to say: Not now. - Your fear have the most power over you, when they are in the recesses of your subconscious mind. - You + Energy + All-in + As long as it takes = Enough &/ or Most powerful force there is - Energy is abundant. The more you tap into it, the more you have. And the more you give it away, the more you get back. “The Power is already inside you right now, and the way to access is through your second voice. It will show you where to direct it. Which voice will you listen to?”

Unfortunately, many people have life circumstances that don't allow them to follow their energy, even if they were brave enough to do so. Family health problems, lack of finances, etc. It's a privilege to even consider this as an option for many.

True, but there's is always a way out in every situation, most times we don't look close enough. We allow the problem to overwhelm us.

Not true. My dad reinvented himself in his 70s despite health problems, lack of finances, broken relationships etc. There is always a way to follow your energy. Your comment shows you didn't understand the central point and confused it with moving away from a stable job.

There is always a way out of everything so that you can follow your energy. Unfortunately that might include abandoning you family and doing your thing. For a lot of us that is not a sacrifice we are willing to make. Making money is not the only metric for success although the world thinks that.

Powerful, insightful, funny, this lecture has it all. Graham Weaver is a master storyteller effortlessly weaving personal stories with deep learnings. As an Integration coach, I've been sharing variations on these themes with my clients for many years, but I really appreciated the way Graham packaged the message with poignancy, lightness and clarity. My favorite insight is how we often resort to building a helmet around us to protect the nail in our head rather than pulling it out. It's a powerful insight that you'll have to watch the lecture to understand what I just said--it will be well worth your time!

After I got sober (1994), I began to understand how much "fear" dictated my behavior. The people in my recovery group, didn't seem to be bothered by much of anything. In fact, they laughed at things that normally wouldn't be too funny. As the days, weeks, and months turned into years, I was laughing with them. I realized that their "happy, joyous, and free" was based on a belief and trust in something greater than what they could see...and it totally changed my life for the better. All I really had to do was "Act as if", and in doing so, the abstract became tangible. While I am far from perfect, I have mostly ceased fighting everything and everybody. The absence of "fear", has led me to a life of abundance. ✌❤ 🙂 Mark

"Follow your energy", What a great quote to hear instead follow your passion. This talk was great and I learned so much from this single video. I am in my third year of college and for the past two years, I have been living my college life in fear and making it smaller and smaller. It was pathetic. I wanted it out of my chest but I feared my friends would not understand. But now I will implement whatever he told me to embrace that feeling, defeat it, and go forward. I’m in my early 30s and felt this really strongly earlier this year. Like the lecturer, I went soul searching - travelled across 3 continents, went to Nepal on a meditation retreat. I think going all in on something - like I had with my first start up - is the most rewarding thing ever. Anything else feels like a betrayal to who I am, my identity. Once I did find the thing I want to do though, the hard thing is balancing what I want to do with the life I want to live - all the costs that are required. So I find myself with my second startup and about to start a new corporate job. I don’t know if I’ll like this new life or not, but for now at least I feel like I’m living an authentic, balanced version of myself.

Some people are smart enough to question advice that is posted here, knowing that life cannot be summed up as simply as this speaker portrays it. A smart person knows to do what's best for them, knowing that there is no guidebook, and knowing all the while that not everybody will help you or be your friend. We have fears built in to protect the self from harm. I suppose overcoming fear is good, but being fearless might land you on s bumpy uncomfortable road.

How to live to the fullest and what is the meaning of life. The title doesn't justify the content. I am just fortunate enough that i fumbled upon something like this on youtube, which eventually made me think of all the wrong steps that i am trying to make just to convince my first voice. My fears. Thanks for inspiring millions in this lost world.

12:12 "Everything that you want is on the other side of worst first" Wow! Hearing that while presently in my "worst first" is like a lifeline. To be living your worst fear and needing to choose to face it at the same time, I'm surprised I haven't mentally and emotionally napped yet. Wait a minute, I kinda have!

Life changing speech. I have the courage now to start implementing that what I want to do. Fear kept me back. I am 59. I realise it is never to late

Nice said, follow your energy not your passion. If the passion is film making only a part of all genres, styles and stories give you energy. Only a part suits you. You will be successful when you want it as bad as you wanna breathe. And you wanna breathe now so do it now. When you deliver meaningful service to others YOU WILL BE successful

Ok this is great. But there is survival bias: the ones who went big and didn't succeed, don't get to present in a seminar like this. You could go big and end up unemployed and homeless. Not saying that you shouldn't go big, but it's paramount to hear both sides of the story. If you are gonna do something, listen to both success and failure stories. Otherwise you are just looking for confirmation.

This is such an important take. So many people go through life and work really, really hard but due to reasons that are sometimes out of their control, (starting a business just as the 2008 recession hit), they didn’t hit the level of success of which they deserve. Sometimes good fortune just happens and other times it’s just the opposite. It’s okay to acknowledge that and still strive for new levels of motivation.

The worst part is none of these famous speakers. Talk about all the people who went big and failed. Do they not know or they know and consciously not sharing?

At first I couldnt understand what he meant by "energy" and by the time started explaining it, it's basically something that gets you excited and has a lot of "will" to actually do it. Not sure if it is just me but I started feeling it differently and started to cry.

OMG this is the perfect talk for me right now. I'm dealing with the exact situation he's describing. I'm stuck in a dead-end job in the government that I hate but yet I don't seem to have the energy and the focus to leave this job and go after a better position elsewhere. 😢

This video played randomly on my list while I was driving. This couldn't have been at a more crucial time in my life, when I'm standing at the crossroads. I have let fear overtake my existence, I have been living in a state of drained energy far too long. I have decided to run towards the energy. I'm listening to this again to do the exercise Graham talks about, I want to live my life to the fullest and not fear continue to overshadow it, I'm not putting it off till tomorrow.

I agree. But lack of appropriate fear can lead to a life that's very short. The difficulty is learning from the normal human emotion called " fear." Too much is no good. Neither is too little any good.

The concepts Graham discussed are insightful and helpful, especially for young adults who are still undecided which path to choose for their future. I think he needs to practice on honing his presentation skills, including timing his pauses- this will help him deliver a more impactful speech.

Key takeaways from the speech: * There are two voices inside you: the voice of fear and the voice of your true self. * The voice of fear is loud and tells you to doubt yourself and play it safe. * The voice of your true self is quieter but wiser. It speaks through your intuition and energy. * Don't follow your passion but follow your energy. Notice what activities give you energy and lean into those. * Do an exercise called "Nine Lives" to identify the things that excite you and give you energy. * Pursue the thing you would do if you knew you wouldn't fail. * Make three promises: * Take the nail out of your head - When you are stuck on a problem, acknowledge it and address it. * Go towards the things that give you energy - Move in the direction of what excites you. * Go all in - Don't wait, commit fully to the things that matter to you. * The meaning of life is to find your meaning of life and live it to the fullest potential.

I would say if you are in your 20 to 30s you can take risk but after that you have to think twice about what you are going to do because it will effect your partner , your family. And you won't have too much time and resources to correct that mistake you made after taking high risk. ✌️✌️

I always wanted to join in Indian army, but now i am into IT, i have exhausted my attempts gave exam 4 times, took into online coaching also, but was not able to get into. I still am trying to find meaning into my job everyday. Yesterday i was into a mall just to get my daily groceries, and then i suddenly saw the gentleman cadets of the Indian army aspiring to become the next officer. I don't know how should i put my energy into my job now. I am very grateful that this job has given me a sense of security but getting into IT was never my dream it never was. I remember the first day when i got into the job, my colleagues asked me if i was into army before, i felt happy that they recognised me that i looked like them, but it was empty for me. I just said, i was aspiring to become one, but could never become one. I get paid well, i am into WFH working comfortably from the comfort of my home, but whenever i am with myself, i find myself lost into thoughts that in this life i couldn't become a soldier and i should live with it.
@ItsTylerYinАй бұрын
Hey Surmani, I hope you are doing well. I do not think that you should give up on your dreams of becoming a soldier. Is there a certain quality of a soldier that you enjoy? If so, I would look into something that could just be as exciting as that certain quality and chase it. I just watched the video and am currently finding what truly excites me at this moment. Good luck brother.

What would I do if I knew I wouldn’t fail? I dropped out of university after a year because I was afraid of failing in school, I’m now regretting because my life feels worthless as I lack purpose and direction. I feel stuck in this 9-5 routine and I’m so burnouts and mentally drained this video was so enlightening to me in so many ways. Thank you for posting ❤

This is so helpful. Muchas gracias. I am 56 and I have spent years building my business and it is so stressful. My inner voice says sell now and move to Spain or Italy. I have fear I will sell too soon and I won’t have the security I need. I found it easier to risk when I had nothing. I’m going to work trough this fear. Thank you!

That is true. It is easier to risk when you have nothing. It's also easier to risk when you are in your youth. I'm reminded of a poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost.
@CMD_Line3 ай бұрын
But you have the skills and knowledge from building that business, you also know how that business works, you have clients and connections. So what, you move to Italy after selling and you have your down time and space to relax and think. Worse case scenario is, you can start again, but build it better and remove them stress points. All the things you think you need, you don’t. If you have family and loving friends you’re doing very well. Let go of the business and you’ll see you have nothing to lose at all but everything to gain.

The first voice - fight or flight response (ego?) ; the second voice - inner wisdom; intuition; the god (the superego?) Access full power by listening to the second voice, which contains your dream, your path and your energy. The promise to get myself unstuck: Take the nail out of your head. And the nail i have is my bad habits. Scrolling, and procrastinating, smoking, saying things i don’t do/lie, taking medication instead of doing other things to help it, Fears that make me stay paralyzed. Why not pulling the nails out? 1. We haven’t admitted that we have one. Solution: speak your truth. Instead of putting energy into protecting the nail, 2. There’s plateau, it will get worse first when you reach the next height.
