Tbh I kept thinking that her husband hated insects, hated Mellie's insect-related activities, he loved her when she was an ordinary girl. Because of this, the entomologist had trouble sleeping, somewhere it was mentioned that she used a sleeping pill. In the last question of the entomologist's deduction, it is written that she was sitting alone at the table and smiling, indicating that something was wrong. (I might be wrong)

My theory is : orpheus saw alice living a traumatic scene in their past, so to protect her he tried to make forget everything. But seeing it’s not a good idea he try to go back and experiment some drugs such as hydra, mnemosyne etc. Totally lost he end by experiencing on himself and forgot everything at his turn, getting hallucination (probably because of Siren sont drug)We have to see what will be revealed later but that is a theory.

This is an interesting theory tbh! Though maybe I'll add some more possibilities in it. The drug does not make him forget everything (since Alice also still remembers the drug used for her in the past). Maybe Orphy wanted to test the drug on others before administering it to Alice. That would explain why Orphy wants Alice in the final game. Nice theory tbh. I like it!

@@SilminaIDV it’s interesting, actually we have 4 different drugs : Hydra (the symbol of memory) that reconstruct the memory, mnemosyne later replaced by Dyonisus (maybe the effects changed), noting that mnemosyne is the mother muse representing the memory. We have Siren song, probably the origin of why survivors are afraid of hunter (that cause extremly psychotics effect and terror effect) and the orpheus, that i forgot the effect lmao. The greek myths also have a very important significations it would be interesting to link all these references

@@SilminaIDVif I remember well there was an AoM 2 scene where we could Alice’s nightmare with being being experimented by a group of scientists. And one of them looks like Orpheus, but slightly younger. If I think right this experiments where a total failure so Orpheus decided to erase her memory of it, but again failed to do it completely. So as he started games to test different drugs to find which can make her totally forgot what bad happened to her in her childhood. Bonus I think Norton with Orpheus collaborated with manor owner in experiments. Plus, as it seems to me, Norton joined experiments only during the final game. While Orpheus was one of the initiators. In event, I forgot how it called, but there was a werewolf game mode available, we saw that Orpheus participated in each game. Each. And was always the main detective how could see roles of others. I think this is a very important point to note.

@@somesymbols371 it certainly make sense but there are some things that need more explanation about it. We all know that Alice was taken to the mental hospital, and when she was 14, she was taken to Melbourne. While Orpheus, in ToR, said that he was sent to an orphanage, and went on to become a novelist. If, somehow, Orpheus tested the drug into Alice, he must have been an adult (let's just say 18 yo). This raises a question since Alice was moved into Melbourne when she was 14, so how could he and Alice meet? Another interesting theory is the one he took photographs with. Some believe that person is Sam Bourbon. If Sam was in the manor, Orpheus must have at least an early adult already. That would make Orphy and Alice too far to meet. Personally, I would like to think that the nightmare was not far too long. In fact, before the experiment, Alice was suffocated by Orpheus. What if the thing in her nightmare, actually happened right after she got suffocated? Well that's my theory though

To support the fifth theory- while Alice is apprehended in the Darkwoods, we can see the perpetrator’s feet. They’re the exact same ones as Orpheus, and they’re also shown during the Mary encounter after Alice runs off.

A : _Although it is never mentioned what kind of family relationship they had, when Frederick encounters Orpheus, he said that he is a distant relative of Mary_ Q : Is Alice's Alias really Eury Lamb? A : _it is heavily hinted by the letters in AoM 1, as well as Orpheus calling her Eurydice. There is no real confirmation by NetEase though, so it's still a theory. Be wary of my video disclaimer_ Q : Why did Orpheus lie after finding Alice fainted in front of the Kreiburg exit gate? A : _Orpheus doesn't want the butler to know that they broke the Manor's rule_ Q : Any more hint that Orpheus is the perpetrator? A : _After Alice ran away from The Fool's Gold, we can see that she was suffocated by someone from behind. If we see clearly, we can see that the person doing it was Orpheus (take a look carefully at his feet)_ Q : Why doesn't Alice realize her story is being told by Orpheus? A : _In the next scene after that, Alice is seen writing some things : Bandit, Picollo, Forest Rangers, Participant / survivor. She later said "could it be him? But I feel like I'm missing something." My understanding of the scene was that Alice knew her story was being told by Orpheus, but she is still unsure or needs more hints before fully realizing it is the Orpheus he knew, or doesn't want to outright say "that was my story" because she is using her friend's identity in the manor. She also said that Orphy knows the past way too well, and suspected him to be either the part of the attacker, or the survivor of the incident, so she was being extra careful._ Q : Alice said that every Orpheus' book is always linked to a cold case. I really like the theory about Orpheus telling Alice's tale, I didn't realize that the reason why should would've hesitated to tell her backstory because Orpheus just reiterated what could've happened to her. Orpheus looks like he knew who Alice is and already hinting himself at her throughout their encounters.

I'd like to point out that Alice technically met Norton **before** the breakfast scene in chapter 2 - the moment after someone chloroformed her at the forest of no return (Orpheus most likely, given the white clothes), and she woke up strapped to the chair in the secret medicine lab and a shadowed figure forced her to drink a drug when she started trying to get out. The person's silhouette is Norton's! I also think the shadowy figure Alice was chasing from the medicine lab was also Orpheus, if u analyze their silhouette close enough. I think it's likely that Orpheus and Norton are working together in some way during the manor game, since Norton clearly knew the potion would make Alice forget the reality of that night in favor of thinking she was dreaming or something.

Since the staff said Norton had just arrived to the manor when Alice woke up the day after the racecourse incident and Frederick disappeared (even if they were lying to her, since Norton clearly is familiar with the manor enough if he's allowed in the secret medicine lab and able to administer drugs), it's likely that she interviews him later on. Hopefully we get to see that interview in a later episode 🙏🙏

I feel like the final game might be them realizing they've all been here before and are trying to get out. But then everything goes downhill. It's a long shot. Don't take my words as canon. It's just an assumption since Orpheus, or we'll old him story, are messed up and mixed all over the place. We might have to see the other 3 or 2, I guess, before they went "missing." Since Norton,Fredrick, and Melly bodies are never found according to the newspapers. Which makes me wonder who on earth really invited us to look for the guys daughter. Because something tells me she's real, but she never was there to begin with.

I have another theory. Or an assumption rather than a theory. There are a lot of hidden references to mythology in characters' names and interior of the manor. Especially, for example, to the myth about Orpheus and Eurydice. 1. In the dining room, if I am not mistaken, some statues and paintings describe scenes from the myth - like the statue of the man playing lira. He definitely resembles the statue of Orpheus (you can google it and see). 2. Orpheus name and also his the role this story. Yes, he presents himself as a Novelist. But when they were children and friends with Alice he was reading his stories to her and she was enjoying them (Alice remembers this from childhood). However, even now, not connecting for some reason Orpheus with his friend of childhood Alice has a particular interest to his books. Also in the very beginning she was selecting books to take with her, and these books were written by Orpheus. This interesting and moment of "listening" (or "comprehending") resembles in my mind with the motive from the myth about Orpheus and Eurydice: Eurydice was listening and was attracted by Orpheus's music. 3. Accordingly, Alice can also resemble Eurydice. Especially this idea came to my mind when she was dreaming about herself as a child. Someone was calling her. There was "Eurydice" among options. If you press this option you will also see the figure which reminds Orpheus's image. 4. Her nightmares and darkness and probably death after all (we don't know for sure) can correlate with the Hell where Eurydice was trapped. Probably the second, good nature of Orpheus in the game tried to get Alice our somehow from that help (or will try) but failed and made even worse (Orpheus from the myth looked back not able to overcome the temptation and because of this Eurydice was trapped in the Hell forever. 5. Also two more things that connect Orpheus with the myth in my mind. There is one more episode in mythology about Orpheus. During his Argonautic expedition he had to save his voice and talent to the Sirens to save his friends. In the game Orpheus (older Orpheus from previous stories) lost his talent as a Novelist and lost his popularity remaining with nothing. There Sirens are correlated with one of drugs that contains the name "Siren". I'm not sure in this theory but probably there might be something to think about. Even if isn't so it's still nice to think about this way 😅

Good that I found someone thinking about the story At first, I thought that all the survivors were in the manor together, but it seems that they are being replaced. It reminded me of when Naib replaced Moror after killing him. Does this mean that all the previous survivors are already dead? Alice found that book that contained a picture of Emma. Maybe if she searched more, she would have found more. Alice came to the manor as an investigator, right? She has become a survivor now. In my opinion, it is possible with this situation : First, Alice doesn't (fully) realize that Orpheus is her childhood friend she was looking for, so when Orpheus tells her his backstory, Alice might think of someone else. Second, either Orpheus is lying about his backstory, or he is delusional about having Alice's parents as his. My guess is that he is lying to Alice (he knew Alice is his childhood friend all along), in order to find the forest ranger whereabouts which is implied to be his real parents. Why he wanted to do that is unknown though

But the story was very intriguing that I got hooked. Now I just found out that the story is not really that developed yet (or at least released). My theory is that there is now one more game base on Alice's card. It might be the wolf and the sheep. The rule game is simple, the wolf will hunting the sheep that they want ,in this case maybe the game master who want the wolf kill someone .Reason why i think it, probably each team always has one person want to kill someone.... 4:23 that wasn’t the first time Alice met Norton,we see that after she was kidnapped by Orpheus she woke up and was tied to a chair,then we see someone forcefully feeding her with a bottle of drugs,I highly suspect that that person is Norton because of the gloves they were wearing are the same(there was also some belt that im not sure if he wears),not to mention Alice saw the hunter form of Norton but in the reflection of the water we see that his legs were connected so seeing hunters are 100% hallucinations. So basically he alr saw Alice but Alice saw him as a different person. Btw in one of your lore videos we know that Golden Cave and Dark woods are connected so was Norton living in Dark woods or smt? Like check if theres a bed in the shack there?And as far as we know where is Bane?Isn’t he living in Dark woods. Oh I forgot to mention that Alice should alr have an idea of who Norton is cause she wanted to investigate a survivor of the Golden Cave mining accident (I forgot if his name was in the paper). 5:50 to add further proof to this, This isn’t the first time Orpheus participated in a game,as far as i know he also participated in Helena's game along with Galatea,Ada and Emil. Plus he was also the person that killed Emil. In one of Helena’s letters it said smt about him touching a gun.(See Helena's and Galatea letters) 7:35 I suspect that the person in the middle is Sulivan (Helena's tutor).The reason is because Helena was described as “Sulivan's prey” which could mean shes part of it.(btw Sulivan is described as a she).Btw i saw four people,yes there are three in the photo but for a split second during Alice's flashback we see another person in the left conner. Btw why does one of the people in Alice's flash back look like Joseph lol (i mean they did say Joseph was experimenting on stuff or maybe he knows Mary even tho its not mentioned as far as i know) Btw what is the trigger of seeing hunters(seeing fools gold means seeing Norton so im guessing that there is a trigger)? Interesting. First, yep, Norton assisted Orpheus in giving drugs to Alice. What I mean by just met is some kind of, introduction to each other. My bad in choosing the right words. As for dark woods connected to the golden cave, which video was it again? Iirc, I never said anything in my video that both are connected somewhat. But well, according to my knowledge, the darkwoods and the golden cave might be close to each other (there are hints on bane's letter, iirc) Orpheus being in game 0, control room, yep. According to Galatea's letter, Orphy shoots Emil for self defense, but this is also full of doubt. Like, what if he did it on purpose? So yeah, Orpheus has his evil side after all I'm not going to reach the conclusion that it is Sullivan tho. He might be there doing experiments, but to say that the middle guy is Sullivan is too soon for me. Some believe it is Sam Bourbon, some believe it's Jeff, like idk who even Jeff is. No major hints leading to him being Sullivan, so yeah. I couldn't answer the one experimenting Alice looks like Joseph. It could be Count Berriere, it could be someone acting as Joseph. No actual leads on him being Joseph so far. I'd love to know if there is any though The trigger of seeing a hunter might just be the drug? As for why Orpheus also sees Mary, well, what if that only applies to Alice? The game was on Alice PoV anyway, so maybe it's just Alice seeing Frederick, while Orpheus isn't. As the basement looks like white sand, I can't conclude anything out of it. In my understanding, the Kreiburg Racecourse's lore only tells about the Mary Kreiburg incident. The basement room might be added after the kreiburg racecourse becomes abandoned, for experimental purposes. We can only guess

also another thing people haven't realized is that mary hallucination was actually frederick! when she gets closer when alice is passing out, you can see her morph into frederick. people are saying she may be his identity switch, but i'm not really sure about that

Although this might be very likely, in a lot of the official artwork and gameplay Fredrick and Mary are shown as two different people, Mary’s bday emote shows mary seemingly admiring the necklace and trying to put it on, but then someone slashes the necklace and it falls to the ground, this could symbolize how Fredrick tried to take the jem from Mary, also, we see that there is a cut on Mary’s neck in the story implying that we are hullacinating Marie Antoinette, why would Alice hallucinate Fredrick as Marie Antoinette?

@@Go_go_dancerr frederick and mary are infact two different people. mary had her own life and backstory, frederick had his own. it's even implied that they knew eachother from a young age. the fact that he was being hallucinated as mary does not make them the same people, if you get what i mean. honestly, the lore is pretty confusing after it's adjustement, but here are some canon facts: mary kreiburg is heavily inspired by marie antoinette, but is not her. the reason why she is being hallucinated as marie, despite not being her, is because there are alot of parallels between those two. about frederick, i still have no idea why they made her his (not confirmed) identity switch. the reason why this theory is highly likely is because in identity v clue's tweet (where they tweet official stuff) it is said that there is a hunter whose identity switch already exists that we do not know of yet: implying it's frederick and mary due to them being "lookalikes".

@@maipledalthough this could be true I still think that it would make more sense for the bloody queen to be a hallucination or Mary k, it’s even hinted at in the theme song for this chapter that includes all characters that appear in the chapter, after Norton starts singing Fredrick doesn’t appear for the rest of the song(although Mary does appear for the rest of the song), at the end it also shows a photo of Fredrick, Alice, Orpheus, and Melly but then Fredrick disappears and Mary and Norton replace him in the photo, this could symbolize how Fredrick was removed from the game and eliminated by Orpheus leaving Mary and Norton to replace him

And it wouldn’t make sense for them to make a whole separate backstory to the bloody queen just for them to make Fredrick her identity switch, I guess they could’ve made the backstory just to connect her to Fredrick but they also could’ve just kept her old backstory and made fredrick an extremely distant relative or descendent of marie Antoinette

Melly did not marry her husband. Yet people say she did kill him. I also think that alice de ross is still herself because she got the letter adressed to her. Since she diguised herself as eury lamb is it? She still might be the lg in orphy's main quest right?

Melly married her husband is a canon story tho. Those are stated in her birthdays letter, and as the future proof, in AoM 2 when she tells her backstory. If we check the opening of AoM 1, there are 5 letters that Alice sorted before going to the manor. First is addressed to Alice DeRoss. Letter second to fourth are addressed to Eury Lamb, while the last letter is addressed to her colleague (this is the point that the player will enter their in game name). So basically I still think the letter is addressed to Alice's friend.

In the next scene after that, Alice is seen writing some things : Bandit, Picollo, Forest Rangers, Participant / survivor. She later said "could it be him? But I feel like I'm missing something" My understanding of the scene was that Alice knew her story was being told by Orpheus, but she is still unsure or needs more hints before fully realizing it is the Orpheus he knew, or don't want to outright said "that was my story" because she is using her friend identity in the manor. She also said that Orphy knows the past way too well, and suspected him to be either the part of the attacker, or the survivor of the incident. So she was being very careful imo. Cmiiw

Nice question. I was thinking about that too when I first found that pic. Like, the heck, how did Orphy do that? And when? But, remember what happened before the cutscene? Alice was drugged from behind at the exit gate, and lost consciousness. What if all the experiment happened not in her child form, but right after she got drugged? And she lost her memory again when she woke up? To the point of considering it as a nightmare of her past? Imo, so far that's the most sensible answer. Also the one beside Orpheus, I presume it was Sam Bourbon. He has the same mole as Demi Bourbon.

But I still hope that is actually a Nightmare who doing anything. There is also a theory that Orpheus is actually the mastermind behind the manor game. If this really happen. That means, we don't know with who we deal with. Is he really a "Novelist"? Or a "Nightmare"?

Same case with the weeping clown that is seen as the smiley face by Margaretha. Orphy being the main villain is a popular theory, and is hinted at multiple times. I personally just don't know what his motive is in doing so

@@MushyChipsi mean he has multiple identities and in TOR he can even talk to his evil self through the mirror so "Orpheus" running away from "Nightmare" can be just a pure hallucination. Maybe "Nightmare" is the reason Alice gone missing (the ??? one in TOR) and when "Orpheus" gained back his consiousness he regretted what has he done so he tried to kill himself before "Nightmare" take the full control of him and continue the manor game thing?

Idk just yet. The only confirmed survivor of AoM was Orpheus. There are other survivors as well, but we don't know who
