2/3 year back, I too used the Niacinamide 10% from The Ordinary. It must've been too strong for me because within a month, I was breaking out. And I am the type of person that did not have any acne during my teen years and early 20s. It was when I started experimenting with "skincare" that I had somehow accumulated a somewhat sensitivity to my skin. So yes, I haven't used Niacinamide again in a long time. I switched to 2% salicylic and it has been working wonders for me. Now that I am in my late 20s, I have started using Retinol in the night in lieu of VitC.

I had a couple of spots that once were pimples and after a couple of months, they were still there. So I thought I’d switch things up and used Neutrogena oil free acne wash for three days, total of six washes. I got all the symptoms you mentioned. My guess is I damaged my skin barrier. I’m using Cetaphil cleanser for oily skin plus La Roche Posay Cicaplast baume, and it’s making a difference. The only thing I don’t like from the Cetaphil is that it contains parfum. I tried CeraVe a couple years ago and that didn’t work for me. Same thing had happened. This time around I’m looking up ingredients and comparing products I’ve used. Paula’s Choice website has an ingredient dictionary and they rate each ingredient from best to worst. It’s easy to use and I’ve learned what ingredients I should be avoiding.

I'm dealing with the same issue. Stupid sun and age spots!! Use 5% Niacinamide coupled with a Vit C serum with a concentration of no higher than 13%. Or, what I'm busy using, 5% Niacinamide serum coupled with a Vit C AND E serum. Side note: It's recommended to use Vit C with a concentration of anywhere between 10 to 20%. No higher! But I think 13% is best. But you can try it for yourself and see. Hopefully, this helps you. Do a lot of research though.

Hi Doc, so… I started getting acne after I “berhijrah” a.k.a being a full time niqabi. Year 2021 I had no issues and I’ve never changed any of my routines. But recently 5/6 months ago parts of my face that are covered suddenly exploded with acnes.. all types of ance you name it. I think non of it as I thought “hey, maybe my skin is trying to adjust to the niqab or the fabric” But then.. its getting worse.. and worse.. and worse… side note, I do change my niqabs often, wearing it less then 4 hours then change to a new set. Currently I’m on adapalene, cosmoderm (niacinamide&saicylic acid) line and adding on the Axis-y dark spot correcting glow serum. What do you think? Is it a good idea? Help a sister out cause could not find any videos that helps us niqabis. Thank you Doc.. love your videos ❤

@allways878210 ай бұрын
Hello, one of the things that people with oily skin don't realize is frequently what's causing the oily skin is dehydration, your skin and likely your body in totality is dehydrated. Likely, the overproduction of oil is your skin's way of saying I need more moisture. Is using a salicylic cleanser, toner, and serum too much? Yes, if you've noticed your skin is not improving after a a few weeks. The salicylic cleanser and serum likely is sufficient. Make sure you are using a good quality moisturizer after your serum, that is for oily skin. And just because you have oily skin doesn't mean you don't need a moisturizer. Your skin should feel soft, hydrated and supple even an hour later. I hope this helps.💓

@allways878210 ай бұрын
Hello, why do you want to use a homemade vitamin c serum? A concoction likely won't work and could cause irritation or damage to the skin. Stick with a good quality product that's been formulated for the skin. Look for what your skin type, oily, sensitive, combination or dry skin vitamin c.

@malki59378 ай бұрын
I had the same issue until I figured out that I was using it incorrectly. It‘s better to use it on dump skin, otherwise it could have the opposite effect. If you are talking specifically about the essence then it would be best to use a moisturizer after for better results (you don’t really have to though). If you are talking about the cream, then you don’t have to use a moisturizer. If none of these work, then maybe it really doesn’t suit your skin type.

@allways878210 ай бұрын
Hello, did you start using them all at the same time? My suggestion is to slowly integrate new products into your routine. That way your skin can get used to them and you can know what's working or not working. K.i.s.s AKA keep it simple sweetheart. A good quality facial cleanser and vitamin c serum is a great place to start. Select a facial cleanser and a vitamin c serum for your skin type, oily, combination, sensitive or dry skin. Make sure you finish with a good quality moisturizer. Avoid moisturizers with essential oils, fragrances or pore clogging ingredients. If the bumps go away, then likely one of the ingredients you stop using was the cause of the bumps. I hope this helps.💓

After using snail mucin essence for 6 days i started getting breakouts on random places on my face, so should i stop using it? (Oily Acne prone skin)
@theaondracawley544110 ай бұрын
I would say yes because the things that trigger acne are bacteria, dead skin cells, inflammation, and excess oily production from out subcutaneous layer of our skin. As someone who also has oily acne-prone skin, everything doesn't work for us. Try products with either salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, niacinamide, or a retinoid, and also a sunscreen that is for oily acne-prone skin.
@faym318710 ай бұрын
This happened to me too after using snail mucin. I tried to skip it for a month and restarted it just to double check and I still had breakout after restarting it. I stopped completely using it and my skin is looking better no flare up/break out. I think I was allergic to snail mucin.

Here are what I use on my face CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser, tea tree facial toner, roushun serum, and simple hydrating moisturizer with sun screen gel ,,it almost 3mouth but experiencing itchy skin,,😢 please I need ur help
@allways878210 ай бұрын
Hello, it sounds like your skin might be itching because it's dry. You might be using products that are dehydrating your skin. Tea tree oil while it's great for antibacterial and antifungal properties, it can also be irritating and trying to some skin types. Try a hydrating toner or essence. I'm not familiar with that serum. Make sure you're moisturizer is moisturizing your skin enough. Your skin should feel soft, moisturized and supple even hours after you've applied it. Sunscreens particularly gel sunscreens can also dry out your skin which could lead to the itching. For now, just start with removing the tea tree oil toner. I hope this helps.💓
