I had mixed reactions tho. Some would welcome my questions and would get back to me that day or the very next day. The others would ask me to follow what the book says and don't think beyond it. I didn't have a problem with my classmates they found it as a chance to pass time I guess.
@chestermansfield7884 жыл бұрын
Engin Yeğnidemir teachers who get mad or dislike their students to ask questions are definetely bad teachers. They should be proud their students want to dig the topic further than the lessons or the books takes it, they should also appreciate the experimental side of it and encourage their students to think by themselves and to exchange arguments, not in a competitive way but in a way to find out what's truth and what they really think about the topic. I guess teachers getting mad at you when you ask a question and keep questioning probably don't feel safe about their actual knowledge and might be afraid that their authority get spoiled, because after all it is precisely their knowledge that gives them power over their students. Also as a teacher if you dislike your students to ask questions you might just not be built up fr the job, knowledge can't be gained only by repeating what's in a book. After all it was Albert Einstein who said that you should keep questioning things, and he was one of the greatest mind of our times. Do not give up people, being intelligent or curious is not a crime you should be proud of it and stand for it, it is a quality!
@marianatabosa47424 жыл бұрын
You have to be careful of how, when and what the question is supposed to be made. Really, I'm someone who's never afraid to ask, but my teachers actually like me. The thing is let them talk everything, and in the end you summarize what he/she said and ask a smart question, not a joke. They'll take you seriously if you are true to them. If your classmates hate you for asking, then just ignore, really, they hate being ignored

Listen, I get it, you want to spread positivity rather than negativity, that's alright, but let's be honest, these are just easily relatable things, they don't mean you're smart, and before anyone accuses me of having a superiority complex, no, I'm not smart either, but I don't want to listen to praise based on being average, this is a video ANYONE can listen to and most likely will relate to at least one thing, not everyone is above average, because that's not how averages work. Edit: Wow, 16 y/o me was a bit of a downer. I mostly stand by what I said, but I should probably say, the people who are praising analysis, and those who are claiming this is condescending, I should probably give context for what I said because I feel it's a good way to talk about an important issue. I wrote this comment entirely due to self-loathing, I would often seek out things online that would say good things about me, and hen I'd try to rationalize why those good things were false. For most of my life I was just a sad self-loathing teen and I often fall back on self loathing, but I now try and take better care of my mental health, anyone who engaged in emotional self harm by purposefully seeking out things that will upset them, please talk to someone, I know how horrible self hate feels and it can often boil over into much more dangerous actions, you can even feel free to use the replies in this comment as a place to talk, I'm fully willing to talk to anyone who's going through tough times if I'm online.

Those organized peoples who achieve good grades have a lot of discipline which is far away more respectable than being smart just because you like to scratch your butt every hours or any other shit 😂. I’m not organized my self, but I wish I was, cause I clearly know that peoples who are disciplined are usually intelligent enough to have self control over themselves, and it’s already a wonderful way to know how to use your brain

ohmyfuckin- *To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid.*

@Parkinglot Jimit: How so? They are *very* relatable. Everybody has questioned their school system when (s)he was in school. Lots of people have messy rooms. Doing projects after work? Isn't that just what everybody who has some kind of hobby does?
@ashweed13526 жыл бұрын
ThePC007 the first sign of “intelligence” in this video is described as not being afraid to ask questions or question things in general. This has purely to do with how much influence society has on you, your opinions and your actions. So this is not just about questioning your school system, which indeed was given as an *example* It’s about your mindset and having the strength to possibly disagree to what the majority of the people think and do, by questioning whether it is really always the good or best thing to do. Not many people are able to do so. As I said before, look into it a bit deeper. You should not look at the examples as the only things that is meant by the main signs of being “highly intelligent” By the way, this video has nothing to do with intelligence at all in my opinion, just saying that the points on which you base your opinion just don’t seem to be fitting for me. After all, we all have our own opinions. And I respect that.

Please note that just because you have 5 qualities of a smart person, that does not make you a smart person. Same goes for the inverse statement. Besides, everyone can become more intelligent and can go farther by about 50% then what they think they can. There are ceilings people can hit and those vary, but most of these don't start cropping up until you reach very high levels of Physics, Maths, or Linguistical Theory. The average person can do what a talented person can do, given more time.

superstare You are wrong about the types of intelligence. There is only one. If you are performing average pretty much all over the academic disciplines and have one specialty where you stand out, that doesn't mean you have a special type of intelligence for that one subject. It means that you are either intelligent, but lazy at anything but the one thing you like doing, or that you are just average, but have some sort of advantage at that one thing (maybe you grew up bilingual, so your brain is more experienced in storing language, or you are sharing a tech-hobby with your father, so in physics they really can't teach you anything new in school).

But then what really is being HIGHLY intelligent? Is it excelling at mathematical equations, knowing several languages or knowing several musical pieces on piano from memory? There are so many fields that you can excel in that the definition of intelligence becomes blurred. I think you're touching the subject, but the signs used in the video aren't properly applied to any specific area. You're using smart as a defined term, when you don't really explain it properly. Psychology depends on comparing studies and theories, so please don't present them as facts. I'm not saying that the studies you're using aren't valid, but you're simplifying this way too much for it to have any sort of scientific value and it just ends up with potentially misleading people. I mean it's KZbin so who cares, but please stop saying "people that are intelligent" when you don't even bother explaining it properly. Other than that it's a well produced video.

@Alex Jones: Intelligence is really just the ability to come up with solutions to problems based on the knowledge you possess. Being HIGHLY intelligent would, therefore, mean being very good at problem-solving.
@McSuchi6 жыл бұрын
@ThePC007 The definition of Intelligence is the ability to acquire or apply knowledge and skills. My point is not that I don't know what it means, it's that there are so many different types of intelligence and that this video is generalising it too much without diving any deeper into the concept. It can potentially create misleading facts and information which science, including psychology (yes it's a science) is against. That's for example part of why we learn to write essays in a specific way and why we learn to be critical about sources in school. I'm not saying it's a bad video or that people don't understand the concept, like I said in my first comment it's just misleading and simplifying the concept, which is bad.

I really liked how you pointed out the difference between intelligent and smart. Highly Intelligent people tend to have that feeling of being able to think further but also know they aren't smart, regarding the fact that higher intelligence makes you notice all the empty spaces. Less Intelligent people tell to get along quite well with school, since they just concentrate on what they have to know to pass the exams, during it can become challenging for highly intelligent people to differenciate between common knowledge and trough intelligence resulting knowledge. I know this ist just a small extension to what you already said but I just wanted to let you know that I appreaciate, how you treated this topic.

@Volkbrecht6 жыл бұрын
Yes it does. The sign for intelligence is the question occuring to you, because that means that your brain has evaluated the current situation and sees room for improvement under certain assumptions that need to be checked. One word of warning, though: a lot of the time, the "signs for intelligence" discussed in the video are relative to your situation. If you take evening classes, or ask a lot of questions about how to improve things at work, it just means that you are smarter than your peers or your current job. That's not too hard when you work at Walmart (in any function), but even really smart types tend to be mentally exhausted after a regular working day in research or upper management.
