Spot on 4/5 signs for me. My gender fluidity occurs on two time scales. My guy identity can stay on top for long periods of time until she steps into the wheelhouse and steers a course toward my femme identity. Once female and male are in the wheelhouse together they share taking the helm and it is fun! At some point she will let him take over and she will stand down. I think it is important to understanding my gender identity that she always comes back to join the party at some point.

Oh man I was same hat for all of these, in my head I kinda thought of myself as genderfluid adjacent, but didn’t think about it a ton, but everything you said resonated with me a lot! When I was a kid genderfluid was a scary term to me bc it was confusing but now it’s just me life lol

Id like to say thank you for this. I’m gender fluid but I’m terrified of like coming out as that/ fully expressing that. (I’ve come out ig just terrified of going out as female- afab with lots of internalized transphobia/gender fluid phobia) seeing you thrive helps. I hope one day I can have that too.

It’s crazy that I’m just now realizing I shopped in every section when I was little. I made my mom and dad buy me cute “girly” clothes, but I also wanted clothes from the “boy” section that had wolves, skulls, and Minecraft on it

I also like they/them in a professional sense. Though, still being in the closet I feel awkward mentioning it. As for other pronouns I prefer she/her. They/them is fine. He/him I don't particularly like but don't care enough to make it a big deal. I like being called pretty/beautiful, don't like being called handsome (though sometimes it can make me blush if I wasn't expecting it) for me words are words there are more important things in my life is worry about. Most days I'm fem identifying, whether that's girl, femboy or just transfem. Some days I don't want either. On rare occasions I like more masculine presentation (though never full) but most often not.

I feel like if we get rid of gender roles, everyone could be technically genderfluid/genderqueer I mean Ive been questioning and I dont know if Im cis or genderqueer but I guess best way to describe is in the middle

Thanks for making a video on this topic, definitely super relatable! it's great to see all the comments too! #samdowneyclan haha :) When I first started questioning my gender identity (beyond knowing I was non-binary) and realizing I was trans, it was very confusing. I felt a lot of pressure to be "trans enough" and almost felt like an imposter if I wasn't always hyper feminine. Over time, I've realized that I fluctuate between feeling fem, androgynous, and sometimes slightly masc, and it's not really something I have control over. Understanding that it doesn't make you less valid to identify with and present as any gender was a big moment for me in learning about and accepting myself. ps for sure do another livestream, they are fun

I’m genderfluid, but when I’m sometimes a boy, I still don’t like being seen as a boy, mainly because I never am completely male, same with being female, I’m more of Demi-fluid, but more meaning genderfluid but with a static part, the static part being non-binary, but even if I have masc times, I still prefer to only be feminine, hence why I think I could be nonbinary transfem as well

So I kinda feel good as a dude, but then there's periods where I wanna be a girl. But I find myself leaning more and more towards "fine" being a guy at best. And I have had a while where I haven't really felt good as a guy at all. @@SamDowney Happy Victoria Day. I want to talk to you about something if you don't mind. I am transgender, even though I don't know what I am anymore. I've been thinking about my future as a healthcare student living in Toronto and wondering if I'll face discrimination in my career as a trans woman. I've spoken to my family doctor several times about stopping my hormone replacement therapy (HRT), but after a few days, I changed my mind and decided to continue with my hormones. I feel more comfortable identifying as a woman, but I've also been interested in wearing unisex clothing, which has left me feeling a bit confused about my identity.

Dude no disrespect, but this sounds more like just preference on how you want to present yourself (I.e. focusing on your overall appearance) rather than gender identity. Which is fine wear what you wanna wear/ whatever makes you feel comfortable. But again this is just my two cents, which you can through right into the toilet or whatever.

They and probably everyone else (especially if they actually understand trans people) will THROW it into the toilet. You can't even spell. You know, your comment wasn't mean; it was just uninformed, which then begs the question WHY LEAVE A COMMENT ON SOMETHING YOU KNOW YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. Read the scientific papers and studies detailing trans people and the science behind dysphoria, gender affirming care etc. There is no reason, if you know you don't know enough hard facts, statistics, to not seek that knowledge yourself. You have done what a lot of transphobic people do which is put the onus on trans people to explain and justify their existences to you. It is not Sam's job to educate you, nor to make your feel their identity is valid. Because it already is and you're not a factor in that. Gender identity and gender presentation are two different things and that's where the majority of your confusion is arising from btw.
