Here is an extra step: Get rid of the waist harness and use a seat harness. Then you never have problems with back pain, and the power transfer from sail to board becomes much better, and it becomes easier to close the gap between sail and board, which is important...

Thanks a lot for your perseverance (especially to your partner) and for all the useful advice you share in this video! It would also be interesting to see a video where the logic is reversed. So you'd start with a perfect setup and change something about it, even slightly drastically in the wrong direction, and then try to see what saved properties changed. And then go back again to the perfect fit and mess up again with a different setting, but always just one and always starting from the ideal. Thanks again for all the info you've shared!

Thanks Anna. at 20:00 I thought you were going to say - "I just recently changed girl friends" ..... LOL. It would be interesting to have footage of you sailing alongside the other boards. For example, there was an older guy with a biig NP sail but it was visibly not as well rigged as your sail and it was visibly slower. To be able to compare the pictures while sailing would be a big plus. Everybody just films themselves and so the difference isn't quite so obvious. Of course you could ask the guys if they agree to have footage of them in your video, but you could then explain what they have done wrong or how they could do better. Many thanks for the videos.

@MarioKuempel Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback! I also use a 37cm fin in that board. In this video actually a 36cm one, but that was a Carpenter... :D Weight has a big impact on the fin size, but with slalom boards we are always talking about just one centimeter more or less. So with 37cm you are set up perfectly. 36cm you could try with 6.7, but I assume 37cm is also better there for you. :-)

You are way faster than most (not on the PWA tour) and we can benefit from your knowledge. It would be helpful just to know the wind speed and your full set up that day. Some sails like Duotone have factory calibrated individual batten tensions. You don't want to play around with it as it is already perfect.
@MarioKuempel Жыл бұрын
And you trust the guys in the factory that have never windsurfed before? :D No I´m kidding, but its better to know yourself how to do it, because you NEVER get anything perfect from a factory. As you saw, often battens come in the wrong length from the factory and every milimeter makes a difference. Same goes for the sail diameters. So pre calibrated battens might help for the absolute basics, but only tuning yourself will give you the perfect set up. Same goes for choosing the right mast, or downhaul tension. Even these downhaul stickers are sometimes at the wrong place or the original mast does fit worse than a mast from a competing brand. But yeah, these are details.. :D
@stevethewindsurfer8911 Жыл бұрын
@@MarioKuempel Thanks. I'm basically just quoting what Duotone says in their manuals that come with new sails. :) But of cause, if it looks or feels wrong you should make the necessary adjustments.

@MarioKuempel Жыл бұрын
Mario
@MarioKuempel Жыл бұрын
Mario
