I stopped crocheting about 25 years ago (I’m 70 now) because 1 i made afghans for every living family member and 2 I moved to Florida where it was too hot to crochet. I was looking for something small to make, to avoid it being too hot. And I found you!!! WOW, crocheting sure has changed since my younger days and I think the obsession has returned. You’re making it FUN again. Thank you so much for your videos.

I've watched many crochet channels..you're the only one i can actually grasp what theyre doing and saying at the same time. You dont go too fast, speak clearly and just make sense. Great teacher. . I learned how to crochet from my friends mom in the early 90s but hadnt done it in nearly 3 decades. Now im halfway finished with a full sized Tunisian crochet blanket thanks to you. So...Thank you. Youre awesome

Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher. At my age (79) I am always looking for new skills to learn in the hope that a busy brain is a happy brain. You have given me the gift of using my hands and brain to make beautiful fabric. I have always been a knitter but lately I have turned away from knitting, A mistake once found means removing rows of work to correct the oops. With the Tunisian crochet working back is much easier, pull out a few rows and your stitches are easier to retrieve. Thanks again, the good Lord as sent me an Angel.

WOW! My favorite crochet narrator - "Mikey" - finally has competition in my book! You speak so clearly, go at a good pace for experienced and new Tunisian crocheters, and have a very pleasant voice and manner. Thank you SO MUCH for your "extra" efforts (reminders on # of stitches, nails, great camera angle and clarity, color choices, etc.) to make this an outstanding video. I need to go look up more of your videos now,. LOL

Omg! I thought the same thing. Mikey has taught me for several years now, and I love his crochet alongs. But Toni has taken his place for a moment with all her great videos. Mikey will always be my no.1 but Ms. Toni is No.1a 😆 I have lost sleep for the pass couple of nights just viewing (not even crocheting) her awesome videos. Happy crocheting! 😊

I agree, as well. I love Mikey. He is wonderful. But Toni is ALSO great! She is good at narrating her work and, like Mikey, she EXPLAINS the overall concept of each stitch. That is so important to me-- I need to understand why I'm doing what I'm doing, i.e., that this will become that as you work it. She's also great at giving pointers and tips. She's my Tunisian Crochet Guru! Keep it up, Toni! You go, girl!

Toni, thank you for this great video. You are a great teacher. I am handicapped. I have no fine motor skills on my right hand due to a stroke. I can still crochet, but I had to change the process to make it possible with my right hand. I still right handed crochet, but I make my left hand do all the work while my right hand simply holds the hook still in my fist. I have been thinking about trying Tunisian crochet and just bought a set of hooks. I didn't know about the Tunisian knit stitch. It is beautiful and looks like knitting. I am going to go back and watch your videos to learn the basics and different stitches. I am then going to make some scarfs with the Tunisian knit stitch. I want to make some wash clothes also, but will not be able to do the honeycomb stitch after all. I made many afghans over the years, but now I prefer smaller projects that are easier to complete. I no longer have the speed I used to have.

Toni, Thank you so much for your easy explanations of these stitches! I have a Tunisian crochet dictionary - which I love because it shows all the beautiful stitches - but it is lacking in the detailed step by step instructions. I am so grateful for your channel! I did get your book, " The Tunisian Crochet Handbook" and am excited to try the projects! For now, I am practicing the stitches and my tension (which is much more challenging for me to maintain with Tunision crochet!) I'm making soap sacks for charity - a multiple advantage of helping others, practicing stiches and tension, and trying out different cotton/cotton blend yarns. Thank you, again. I have learned so much from you!

I absolutely love your tutorials. Not only are your patterns delightful, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow with no loud parasitic music to distract us. I'm a fairly experienced crocheter and do well with more complicated patterns, as long as I'm working rounds or lace. I've been crocheting for more than 15 years now, but I could never manage to learn how to crochet straight or regular edges for more than twenty rows. 😂 I want to learn Tunisian crochet because the multitude of patterns is absolutely intriguing. But somehow, every time I tried it, the way of crocheting makes it so I don't stupidly add or miss stitches and end up with an ugly trapezoid instead of a square. I'll try following your tutorials and make blankets for my cats or something, see how it turns out. :D Thank you for being such a great instructor! Your videos are always very inspiring ❤

I have recently taken to Tunisian crochet again after 40 years! Done a LOT of both knitting and crochet. Picking up the Afghan hook (I was taught it as Afthan crochet with hooks of the same name) is a delightful, yet a bit cumbersom to get used to since I do not Knife hold my crochet hook. Thank you for such wonderful videos I have been perusing the last couple of days. Your calm, delightful teaching method is absolutely wonderful! I am working on a sampler blanket as I write this!

One hook, not two or more needles lol as long as you finish for the night with one loop you are good without losing anything. I usually take a break from my project buy making a long chain that I can undo when ready to start again!

My grandmother taught me how to do a chain stitch when I was 8 years old or so. Therefore, since I have started crocheting again almost 50 years later I am self or KZbin taught, haha! OK, I'm late on the uptake here, Toni. I thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial. I plan on turning out some awesome fabrics. I love learning new things and these stitches are the BOMB!

Thank you so much for such wonderful tutorials. I'm a beginner just learning how to do these awesome stitches. I've already placed an order for the tuninsian hooks. But while I wait I can actually fit enough stitches for the weave stitch on a standard crochet needle. So I can work on a scarf while waiting on my new needles. I'm totally excited now. Thank you so much

I learned Tunisian simple stitch several years ago but then lost interest. Recently, at the age of 75 I found your video and my interest picked up immediately. You are a calm, patient teacher with mesmerising hands. Thank you.

with a TBI I LOVE how slow you explain each stitch, thank you! now I want to go buy a tunisian crochet cook and try these stitches, I HAD a hook but when I tried before I kept messing up and gave up and put it somewhere in my apt lmao now I can't find where I put it where I wouldn't lose it...I have a upcoming almost 18 hour flight in September of this year, for a total of around 36 hours total for there and back, you have given me something to do while up in the air, plus your voice is so calming which I also love, as I suffer from severe anxiety....also with ADHD and Bi-Polar, it's hard for me to learn new things with a TBI too, but with the way you slowly explain each stitch, gives me enough confidence to once again try and this time I think I can get it right!, I will be saving this video to my favorites and to my watch again later, files on my channel....thanks once again

I’m so glad I found your channel, I’ve been crocheting and knitting for about 25 years and my husband bought me Tunisian crochet needles for Christmas so I get to learn that now.

Took me about 5 hours to get through this video, but it was 5 hours well spent! Lol I learned how to knit first, but the Tunisian crochet may have just converted me!!! It's kinda like the best of both worlds, the way the yarn is gathered on your hook. And learning to hold the yarn in my left hand, as well as learning to purl while crocheting has actually helped me learn the continental knitting style which is much faster! So glad I found Toni, she's the best teacher for sure!

Tunisian crochet is so much easier than regular crochet in language and movement. I love that one of the stitches look like a stockinette stitch in knitting. Several years ago, I crocheted a fingerless pair of gloves. It turned out so well that I didn't want to give it away. I promised and finally gave them away sadly. My friend loved the gift, but perhaps, didn't realize how much love I gave them. Thanks for this second refresher video---I might crochet my queen-size blanket in the honey-comb Tunisian stitch! I might do it in squares and stitch them together for project management reasons.
