Trimming down a story is hard work. (So is finishing one haha). But I thought I had a good idea for a PB series, started writing it and it’s morphing into a chapter book. It’s tough. Gonna try and layout what the pics will be to see if that helps. Thanks for the video

Thanks so much for these helpful videos! I'm an illustrator and I'm just starting my first children's book. Do you have ideas for connecting people like me to people who write the books?
@DanielMelissaHope Жыл бұрын
Hi Theresa! Glad I could help. If you're looking to only illustrate and not write, then you will need to contact publishers with a portfolio to be chosen to work with an author. If you are an author yourself and want to illustrate your own story, then you will query agents just like authors do. Once you have an agent, they can help you sell your own stories and/or connect you with a separate author to work on a project.

You can teach moral lessons through a book they’re great ways to right a story and incorporate a great lesson in the story such as caring, sharing etc...

Not an author myself but the other day I bought an amazing personalized book for my babies from LionStory! It allows my babies to use their creativeness and build their own story :) books are so important for a child’s development and creativeness only makes it better ❤️

Some interesting points about writing from a different point of view. It is totally different but Orson Scott Card wrote his most famous book "Ender's Game" as two different novels, the first version from the point of Ender and the second time in "Ender's Shadow" from the point of view of Bean. It was two whole novels about the exact same events but just told from a different character and the second one was still really interesting.

Interesting! I didn't realize he had done that! I believe Stephanie Meyer also rewrote her famous Twilight from a different perspective too, changing the genders possibly? Either way, changing the perspective or POV of a book can make it a completely new story! Thanks for watching!

Hi great videos ....lm starting my children's pictures books and l illustrate my own authentic characters ..for 32 page books for an audience for kids over 8 and above now lm just a bit confused can l still add an extra 150 words more over the 1000 word count limit for my books can l still publish them on Amazon and KDP publishing which is my goal....or is it a Absolute must the stories must be up to a thousand words for a full story ...can you give advise ...Thank you very much
@DanielMelissaHope3 жыл бұрын
Hi Clark! If your goal is to self-publish on Amazon KDP, then there is no limit to what you can do! Most picture books are shorter than 1000 words and average around 300-500, but that is for a book that you would publish with a publishing house. Self-publishing is going to give you more freedom.
