What I Have Learned From This Video: 1. Eye Contact with Certainty and Conviction - People will sense that spiritually 2. Take The Notes - Constantly ask questions to pick their brain as well as finding about how I can add values to their lives or businesses - It will make the listeners feel more special and they will try to provide more value in return - Make sure to use pen and notes to take note 3. Allow People To Finish Their Own Sentences - Don't fking interrupt while they are talking! 4. Indicates Them You Are Actively Listening By Nodding or Saying 'Uh Hmm' 5. Ask Core Questions - Question That Goes Deep Into A Particular Subject - For example) "How did you get into that?" or "You know, why do you do that?" or "Huh, Why is that important for you?" or "What are your goals and dreams?" or "What is stopping you?" or "What's preventing you from getting what you want?" or "How can I help? How can I serve?" or "Who do I know that could help you?" - I should not be memorizing this; just focus on creating values to listeners - Asking these open-ended question will open them up so they can open the part of themselves where I can help. 非常感谢, 师傅!

"Complex is the enemy of execution." I love this quote Sifu. • always bring a notebook and pen with you and take notes • it shows respect • don't finish their sentences • ask them for permission to ask questions • hmmmmm...Very profound. • ask core questions: that goes deeper into a particular subject On a serious note, it's really profound. Thank you Sifu.

I wish you could have a course for college professors all over the world to teach them how to keep students engaged and awake. You're SO good at that. Taking college classes as an adult, I start getting sleepy within 10 mins of a lecture once they break out the power point presentations and start reading from it. Even though you use presentations, it seems like you only use it to remember your main points/ideas, but your attention is in engaging the audience, and I think that's very important.

- Keep Eyes contact at the right amount (give full attention) not too much staring will not connect just good amount - take notes: jot down when meeting with successful ppl. Record voice - listen actively listen and don’t interrupt until they are finish - ask permissions to share your opinions - listen attentively responding, i see, aha, um...., that’s profound, hmm, (action) shows you are listening, i wish i could do what you do, be sincere - ask core questions: series of why sometimes how, why you do that, why is it important to you, how could i serve, who that i know that could help you, why is it important, ask why ask how - be good listeners

I would like to add a suggestion that extends from Dan talking about allowing the other person finish speaking. ALLOW A BRIEF PAUSE. Silence, even momentary, can feel rather uncomfortable, but I personally think it is key to allow a moment for your engagement to sink in. I am often challenged to be present-minded and I overly engage. Several years ago, I started implementing the note-taking as a tool. For me, it tends to help all these other components to which Dan refers here fall into place like puzzle pieces. I use it for any business conversation, be they job interviews, agenda discussions with peers or people to whom I may report. By channeling my eagerness to share into the physical act of writing, I remove the temptation and it forces me to wait. Getting into the psychology of all of this this, I would like to venture out on a limb and suggest that what may seem like simple steps in communication to someone like Dan may not necessarily come as easily for those who may come from larger families with a competitive dynamic. Now, I could be 'way off, but think about it. In our family for example with the exception of disciplinary moments from our folks, we interrupted each other pretty regularly. And we lived next to other large families who were similar. The thing is, habits and mindsets like this can carry into adulthood and inadvertently sabotage important business or even social relationships. If the brain is not re-wired or trained otherwise, a person can come off as aggressive, or uncertain, without even realizing it. So if this sounds like you, please, please take heart! Dan's suggestions ESPECIALLY apply here. In modern society, the brain cannot exist in potential battle mode. Re-training the brain like this is NOT easy, but with practice, it can become easier. New habits, new relationships! Peace and prosperity to all those striving to do and be more!

I am SO guilty of finishing other people's sentences, and half of the time I do that, I am wrong and they have to correct me. Sometimes I do it because I'm excited and engaged about what they are saying and I want them to know that I understand,. But other times is because I am impatient. It's a bad habit that I am currently working to fix.

Hello Mr Dan. Thanks for Sharing this valuable piece of information. I just have one query. You said that dont complete the other person's sentences but sometimes what happens is when we complete the other person's sentences they tend to get more connected with us. By completing I mean repeating the sentences with them. What's yours opinion on this ?

Just go back to the good eye contact . It's kind of like a dance-- but you're in control. You're not going to be staring at them indefinitely--- just use your good judgement and don't feel intimidated by them. Everyone appreciates someone with good eye contact in general.
