Yes! Learning to have thick skin is a must to any photographer wishing to grow in there craft. I would also recommend not being married to any one image when wanting to best tell the story. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and insight. Absolutely love your videos , have a blessed day my friend. Shalom

Thats awesome. A lot of us don't have good minds around us to help to maintain those topics in our heads! And begginers maybe can't see how relevant this talk can be. I have a huge photo/video challenge in a couple of weeks, and I'm re-watching many videos of your channel. Thanks a lot for sharing!

I have so much to learn about photography yet. Of course, one never stops learning anything if you care about it. But, I feel like I enjoy that challenge so it's not so daunting. Editing however is another animal. I find it so frustrating. Just when I think I like my process, the next day I hate it. Now, I'm only an amateur/hobbyist, but I still want to make good photographs. I feel like I can get somewhere with my camera. But, editing just has me so baffled...... Thanks for a really informative video. I like you presentation style. As a former teacher, I appreciate your clear and well paced delivery. Have a great week!

Hello there. I watched your videos years ago and loved them. Then I didn’t see any for so long… well … now I’m actually retraining and putting all my efforts into studying and practicing photography and could be happier. And I see I have so many videos to catch up on your channel. I was already subscribed but I have been sure to hit all notifications. You look really well. Thank you so much for these wonderful videos that make a real difference to us budding photographers 😊

Excellent video about real life product photography, loved it ! on another note about background noise in videos, Voice isolation in Davinci Resolve does great with eliminating noise in the background by analysing and isolating your voice in video, FYI

Thanks, I'll have to try that out. I have noisy neighbors and I'm always worried my audio will pick them up. Those street musicians were more just distracting me 😆

@@skylerburtphotos it is the most easy to use and will do wonders, although listening to your video in my phone, I could not hear the noise you were mentionning.

I have to say when I got my art degree I took classes in drawing painting and photography. Each one of these classes had a critique process. The only problem I had with it was I believe only the instructor was giving honest feedback. My fellow students were in the learning process like I was and had little experience in photography therefore what advice could they or I give that was practical? Just my two cents.

Students will give other students their honest opinion, it might not be thatt well educated or informative, but I was really talking about myself and other lectures around the students

Really helpful content and advice from someone who clearly has done the hard yards. Really appreciated the clarity and reality of developing a hard skin and the wrap-up session is such a great (but obvious after you said it…!) tip.)

Wrap up session are vital. It helps put a period at the end of a shoot, which gives a goal for the next one. But it really just helps to get out of that echo chamber in your mind.
