The tap water x bottled water thing is so crazy. I've always lived in houses that had water filters installed on the kitchen taps.

I rather buy the end product if I want to save on plastic. Because then I have 1 single packaging, instead of buying a LOT of separate ingredients in all separate packaging and being afraid if the product is actually good, and beneficial for my skin.

But by being able to make your own stuff you are not only cutting down on consumerism but you are able to make the stuff over and over rather than keep on buying the product

@@caitlinnovak1569 and rebuying the ingredients in single packaging doesn’t count? Also I tried it, and I had a lot of leftovers, and much more waste. Also, I want effective products (as I am not young anymore) and slapping a simple cream on my face wasn’t doing anything for my wrinkles.

@@caitlinnovak1569 I don’t get why is a simple 3 step skincare routine (cleanser, serum, moisturizer) in a mindful packaging counts as consumerism, instead of buying several ingredients (which all have to be shipped, so shipping packages has to count in too) than just getting 3 ready products close where I live.

@@tinybarabo I think you can definitely pick and choose which products you want to make. You don't necessarily need to make all of them, but rather the ones that suit you best. You can also keep them quite simple. @@tinybarabo when it comes to the convenience for you, yes you are right, however, everything in capitalist society is for peoples convenience and that is what is destroying our planet long term, you have to make a choice even if it may not be the most convenient to you for once. People are just too used to have an easy life that they are able to afford when there are still lots of people in the world not being able to afford the same things as well since they are busy being exploited so you can have those things easier. It is just sad to see how much little thought you put into this. Don’t you think the brands who are making what you call “a ready product” don’t have to get their primary sources elsewhere and buy stuff in bulk that also has to be packaged and shipped itself? Maybe read a little bit about global economy and globalization, have you ever wonder how many different primary sources, companies and people are involved into producing a single pencil? Same applies to beauty products, companies are sometimes either incapable of producing all the primary sources to make their products themselves or perhaps it is much cheaper to just pay someone else to do it, your logic is also followed by big corporations as well, why make it myself if I can save money and time by having this process be tertiary 🤷🏽‍♀️ what we can’t compare here is that a corporation is out there for the profit whereas you are a single human just like and other of us out there that can die just the same for the trash and plastic produced, and no there is no 100% recyclable plastic it simply doesn’t exist buddy that’s propaganda.
