I'm just amazed that these little boys could understand and perform such a meaningful performance. You know, they accept their friend, who might be different from others, and gave him the coat at the end, like the metaphore and all. And they understand how judgemental society can be to "boys who dance". Let the kids be, let them do what they love and stop being so judgemental and shoving your opinions down other's throat.
@kirstybevan67602 жыл бұрын
@Nick It's less about saying people can't share opinions and more about teaching people when to keep those opinions to themselves. If you think that boys shouldn't dance, then ok, fine, chances are that no one can change your mind. However, there's a right way and a wrong way to share that opinion. Telling a young boy that you don't think boys should dance can be a lot more damaging than telling a close friend your opinion. An opinion like that can discourage someone from doing something they love and that's not right, that's the part that's the problem. Children will listen to their parents and if they have a parent who tells them those things, they may not go for it, they may even grow up with the same opinion after hearing it so many times. Perhaps "Not my kind of thing, but go for it' is infinitely better than "Boys shouldn't dance"
@CellRus2 жыл бұрын
@Nick Not as long as those opinions are valid.
@kirstybevan67602 жыл бұрын
@Nick I think there's a huge difference between expressing an opinion to an adult and expressing an opinion to a child. An adult is better equipped to handle a potentially damaging opinion (although there are some that aren't) a child isn't going to be emotionally mature enough to shrug off an opinion that is potentially damaging (although there are some that are). I guess the point is, know your audience. It's not always possible I know, but I think anyone with a shred of common sense would realise what their opinion might mean to a child.

To perform so well when you have the weight of expectation, hope, and the truth of your message is so much to ask of one person let alone five. They were not only excellent, but inspiring. Not too many 10, 11, and 12 year-olds can boast that. If they haven't already done so, I expect Disneyland will not only fly the boys there but will have them perform at their various theme parks in the US and DisneyEurope. This was so well done. This was amazing and as that final part played out and that jacket was offered to the one that wasn't at the beginning wearing one, I was practically sobbing at the pure emotion of it. And then as they received that thunderous applause from the audience, they were overwhelmed with emotions too. As if all in one moment in time, they were seen, they were admired and respected and appreciated and all else slipped away. Bravo to each dancer and to their parents as well. You could see how very proud of these boys they all were. GOD bless the parents in this world who unconditionally love their children and support and encourage their individual passions for things that might seem a bit odd and not what you'd have chosen, but then when you see the beauty of the heart that comes forth, you are rewarded exponentially! And not that I think aspiring to dance is odd, but it isn't what a lot of people choose. Just look at the beauty so many dancers have added to this world. I'm so glad these boys ignore those haters and continue to do what they love. I love the fact that their parents are supportive about this. They're so talented. It's such a backwards mindset that boys who dance are frowned upon. We no longer live in middle age so let's embrace the beauty of our modern world. Boys, girls, even animals, they can all dance as long as it makes them and others happy. I'm rooting for these boys to go far and for their bullies, they can all find something productive to do!

I’m in tears watching this. As someone who has been through bullying I can’t imagine how difficult this must be to deal with it and then perform like that

If you enjoy doing something and it doesn't hurt yourself or anyone else never let hate or dislike discourage you from a dream.
