All this advice is also so very applicable to documenting our lives on camera that seems to be quite popular on KZbin nowadays (hint: that's what I'm doing). And that breakdown of the Instagram reel was fire, that script followed pretty much all the writing advice for a compelling piece of content! Thanks for sharing all the BTS shots, I know this doesn't help when you're on a mission which pays the bills. And as I'm writing this comment, I see you're also sharing your premiere timeline! Come on! ❤ I've got no question for you. But if you ever happen to be in Greece, I'd gladly shoot artsy cutways for you! Thank you for sharing all that. Much respect.

Haha thanks Jim! Appreciate you. Definitely hope to make it out to Greece one day!

On those once in a lifestime shots, I always try to roll more than one camera. I have even used my cellphone camera as a back up.

As always, super interesting and valuable! Your recordings and the video are awesome! I also find the editing and the way you told the story very captivating! I consciously didn't notice the sound design which means it worked ;) Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! It is so helpful!

I live in Hawaii....after a major tainted beef incident in a major fast food chain on the mainland killed 20 people with ecoli, laws were passed increasingly regulations on slaughterhouses resulting in most of the Hawaiian processors out of business....if course, big business profits when only massive plants which soak meat in ammonia at millions of dollars of equipment costs....most of the chicken consumed in us is grown in hoffific conditions and shipped to China for processing and shipped back to US.....I own a ranch and cannot legally slaughter any animals for market locally due to regulations.....

Incredible break down and very helpful thank you. Well done. Quesiton for you- did you have any trouble with boat vibration while filming from one? I see you using a tripod in a shot. Or have you in the past? I've had difficulty with vibration affecting my shots and not sure of a solution (other than a gimbal?)
@austinmeyerfilms2 күн бұрын
Hey John! Thanks for watching. Oh yes, absolutely. The camera/tripod combo was really only used when we got into the port where the water is very very calm. For most the day, the camera and tripod were stowed away. I hardly ever shoot on boats, so unfortunately I don't have many recommendations about how to approach shooting from them!

@@austinmeyerfilms I was so sure it was that! Mine is on a shelf for years as I've fallen in love with the practicality of the mini pro and the RC controller. Mad respect for extracting the last drop of value from aging equipment!
