I love that you are pushing back against the constant “adverts” telling us we need 5 cleansers and a £100 cream. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Great approach. I hate cluttering my counter, therefore I bought 2 baskets that fit under my sink. 1 for day and 1 for night. The day contains everything I use in the morning, deordant, SPF, body lotion, etc. And 1 for night, makeup remover, acid, Retin A, etc. Helps me to remember to use everything. Put it all back in the baskets and I'm done and organized.

Quick question in reference to expiration dates (I can't seem to find a reliable answer to this online): I have a few tubes of tretinoin that are 2 months expired. They're housed in the metal tube packaging that most tretinoin creams come in, and they haven't been punctured or opened in any way. They've been stored in a stable, appropriate temperature setting away from light. My question is: at what point should I not use these? I've been working through one tube (also 2 months expired) and it still seems to be just as efficacious as those that weren't. I'm curious HOW things expire when they're not exposed to oxygen, inappropriate temperatures, and most importantly, oxygen. Is the vehicle what's degrading, or the actual active ingredient? Do these ingredients degrade in their unopened, stable packaging, or does degradation begin upon OPENING the product? Do they degrade FASTER once opened than an unexpired product would? How efficacious are they compared to an unexpired counterpart? Thank you so much for your expertise!!!

I wouldn't recommend using any prescription item beyond the expiry date.

My two cents although I am not a doctor by profession. I have consulted two dermatologists and one GP about that problem. They believe (and so do I) that every producer is obliged by law to put an expiry date on their products which is only approximate; however, if you are not dealing with food products which are prone to mould etc. but with highly stable chemical formulae which do not oxigenate/decompose/putrify such as appropriately stored unopened beauty products, they are safe long after the expiry date. There is no doubt that Dr.Bunting will not confirm such a controversial (?) anti-waste claim because YT is a public forum and she cannot risk giving any kind of potentially harmful advice to her viewers :-)

@@pertelote4526 yes I agree safe, but will they still work. Although an allergy pill is not prescribed, my pharmacist said it was still fine to take past the expiration date oh, and this is by a couple of years oh, but he did say it might not be a strong but they seem to be working fine oh, just one pill as needed. But again this is an OTC allergy med not a prescription Med.

In love with Marie Kondo way of thinking, too! Clear space = clear mind! Quick q - what about moisturising dehydrated, sensitive combination skin? I don't feel it's enough to apply only on my cheeks and eye area🤔.Thanks!

I loved this video so much, and am embarrassed to admit that although I love Kondo, I'd never thought of applying the same principles to my skincare. And yet it makes total sense to ask ourselves which products spark joy; for me, at least, skincare is a ritual of SELF care, so why shouldn't we streamline to only those products that spark joy? And, grateful for your Flawless Cleanser, which immediately sprung to my mind in the cleanser category. ❤️

Dr I need your advice. I’ve been using Retin A for 6 months now. It made my skin look great, but lately my skin has an “orange peel”texture and a waxy shiny look. What is causing this? Should I stop Retin A?

I guess your skin need much hydration. I prefer Copper Amino Isolated Serum 2:1 from NIOD or The Ordinary. "Buffet" for serum, and for moisturizer I recommend you Clinique Moisture Surge

Thank you very much for your helpful videos! I definitely find my skin is much calmer and pores are cleaner when using the same simple routine. I also feel like using products from only 1-2 cosmetic brands in a routine for face also helps. I just wonder how to trick our brain so it doesn't ask for entertainment in skincare... If my skin reacted well, I guess I'd use 10+ different products every night just for pleasure

I have been really trying to NOT BUY what I do not need although I slipped up with night creams recently. I try to shop with a list and to only buy what I need. If I can, I tell the sales person to not give me any samples.

Such a good video. I have been trying to streamline my beauty/self-care products for some time. Once you know something works for you, keep it and try to eliminate the rest. If you have only what works for you and what you really like, it will be much easier.
