Hey Cortex! Big fan of your work - i took ur roam coarse and it was the best I’ve ever taken. Curious why u made the switch to Tana - have u abandoned Roam entirely? It seems like some of the best tools and workflows u built up in roam - like the use of discourse mod and block refs for citations can’t be done as well in tana. Am I wrong about that? Is there an equivalent for these tools?

That's very high praise, thank you so much! Yes, I don't use Roam at all anymore. Tana actually lets you do discourse graph stuff natively, without any plugins! The only thing missing there is the playground feature where you visually connect nodes. Roam's Zotero plugin is far ahead of Tana (no plugins at all atm) and the export functionality in Tana sucks right now. So Roam does beat Tana at academic writing _inside the app_ right now. But give it six months ;)

Awesome. Quick question about Building Title from Fields... I was trying to use it Participants in my Meetings supertag, and it only takes the first participant name. If I have, let's say, 3 people in a meeting, I cannot use all of them in the title (Title Example: Meeting with A, B, C on 2022-11-19)

Yup, Tana only uses first element in a field. Not ideal, maybe we'll get more precise manipulation of this in the future (same for authors and "et al." for example!)

Totally fair! Disagree on the major mistake though - they've been a ton of backend work to make the app stable when many, many more people join. Only discovered that work after opening up early access - for this exact purpose! But great to hear that you're happy with another app - always gotta use the tool you have! 🤝
