I don't understand people getting their knickers in a knot about the fuel gauge, once you realise that it is a feature rather than a fault. You've just put fuel in the tank, so it's not like your going to run out before it registers.. Even on road the 1200 is much heavier, so much so that I went back to an 800 after a couple of years.

I have a 2016 XRt. I'm not sure if all Triumphs have this or not? But this bike has a parking light feature. I hate that feature because the key can be removed with these lights on! So far so good but I'm sure to jump off the bike on a hot sunny day and come back to a dead battery. That should be fun....

Nice bikes, but i agree with the weight issue. The fuel gauge issue is well documented but must be very annoying. I did look at the tiger/explorer range earlier this year, but in the end went for the suzuki DL1000. And I'm pleased to say i haven't regretted the decision ( even though I've covered bugger all miles due to the lockdown ). Take care.

My worst two are the screen buffeting and the it being top heavy, I’ve fixed the first, and got used to the second.

Having got my xcx for the sake of taking it off road, the weight isn't as bad as the Ktm's and BMW's. The 21" front wheel and 1.5" risers that the XC models come with, help to make it better handling.

I do not agree with the starter motor issue or at least it was not the issue with mine....i know the ignition switch has an issue with getting heated up there is a wireless device (ring antenna) part of the switch which fails and the symptom is similar with no starter motor activity with the 30 minute wait after getting hot....this happened to mine. I used to pour a bottle of cold water over the ignition switch and it always started immediately after this action...got it replaced in the end and it cost around £250.00. Never missed a beat since. I went directly to Triumph and they told me the issue yet would not replace it under warranty as a class issue so i had to pay for it.... but as a result i will never buy triumph again which is a pity for Triumph.

To me suspension , in particular the front is not very good. Bouncy on small bums yet not firm enough to properly attach corners unless the tarmac is close to perfect .

Yes I tend to increase a bit of preload in the back , but can’t play with the front since it is not adjustable - my pb is mostly the front fork . Did you ever change the oil fork ?
