That's what I was thinking. I don't have any of those issues, but the price tag is significantly lower than limited. I don't think I would like the car as much as a base model. The big touchscreen just adds that cool factor that makes me happy and the auto adjust lights etc.

Don't get your hopes up for the audio system my harmon kardon in my 17 sti was garbage and I had to replace everything

Seems like the main headlights are the DRL’s on the base. If so, there’s probably the same connector in the bumper on the pass side for the DRL’s. I disconnected mine on my VA day one of ownership, easy peasy.

I owned two VA models and now the VB and WHAT a difference in EVERYTHING! I do agree with the shifter but at times it feels very “manly” and mechanical but yeah… I never cared about the looks since the fun of Subaru is a great all wheel drive boxer. All Subarus have always been ugly and people who waste time hating really have nothing else to do but hate 😸. Beautiful or ugly, car or person, at the end of the day is all about delivering and being fit 💪🏼

I own a VA premium model and now own a VB premium also. HUGE IMPROVEMENT over the VA quicker better handling. And honestly everything you said you dislike I don't have a problem with other than the stock sound system still being trash. But hopefully kicker will release another OE replacement kit like I have on my VA

When I drove around in SoCal (Garden Grove area), was getting gas dude rolled down his window for his WRX and yelled out "NICE CAR" and another time was passing through in the streets and a WRX that was about to turn into a highway on the opposite side of the street flashed his headlights. I honked back of course but man idk, I people like it at least in my experience. Even some dude behind me at a gas station driving an infinity said the car looked really nice. I have Premium SPT moodel but dam it drives nice. One of the things I hate about the car is that the infotainment system software could've been programmed better to not only be simple, but more responsive as well as full screen android auto. The design of the infotainment software look outdated and could use a refresh which could just be an update over the air through wifi or lte. Second thing for me is this tiny vibration sound when going over uneven or not smooth roads. It's probably just my car so I'll need to see why that is as I started hearing it once I drove on a day where I had no music playing or anything all. Haven't had the time to get it checked. Third, I would also agree with the sound system so I would hope to upgrade sometime next year, but for now I can kinda live with it. Other than that, I can't find something else to complain as I moved from a Camry LE 07 to this car so the improvement to me is very huge.

kinda late for this but, there should be a DRL harness that you unplug that will remove the lights from being on 100% of the time.

Those things are so true, but I forget about radio as soon as I am driving. The stick is little sloppy, did you add shift stop or just short throw? Thanks for fun stuff!

Our 2022 Forester is the same way. It's a touring, so you think it wouldn't be that way. I took it to the dealership, because I thought something was wrong with it, since my STI uses its DRL. They said there was no problem. I hate it.

Yup. I drove an 03 before getting my 22, and the bugeye was the same. It's a safety feature, and a good one at that.

I completely agree, that car all around is great. People look down on it too much, until you see it in person and drive it. I recently just got myself a red one as well. did you buy the complete kit for the boomba short shifter?

The base speakers are pretty decent imo. However, if you're using Bluetooth it's not as loud. I have the premium, so I use Android auto, but when I don't have my phone connected by USB and music is playing through Bluetooth the sound quality is trash.

What about the turn signal ? Doesn’t stay when you signal or turn off after a turn, I mean once you get used to it no big deal but at first I was like 🤬

I own a 2022 WRX base model, and have to say this car is rugged. It's almost as the car consistently reminds you not too get comfortable and asks you to drive it how it was meant to be driven. When i drive it soft, it let's me know it's in a bad mood, until I floor it and grip the steering wheel, and cut into corners is where this car shines. This car also likes to size up other cars. I noticed people get on edge when they see me driving next to them. Can anyone relate or do I sound crazy?

@@rahd7044 not at all. I have a 21 Sti. Had a 17 wrx a 19 Sti a 20 Sti and now a 21 Sti. And I go commando if your interested in that type of thing. My point was nobody with any knowledge would get intimidated by a wrx. Not even a Camry owner.

Rip that thing out put an Alpine in there you'll be wondering why you waited so long my man. shifter can be fixed, running lights idk if that can be fixed, bad speakers can be replaced as well (save up more befiore replacing the head unit). Sounds like I want to get a premium one though, I want the fog lights, better speakers, and push start.

I was torn between the 22 wrx and BRZ. I ended up going with the BRZ. Its a fun car but surprisingly still pretty slow. Yeah it handles great...blah blah. I know. But on the road in traffic, its slow. I considered swapping it for a wrx. BUT THEN I raced a 22 WRX premium manual From a dig, 20 roll, 40 roll and 60 roll and whooped him really bad every time. I did not realize just how slow the WRX was. I know with a tune and mods they can be quick, but they sure arent out of the box.

What ? Lol Are you trying to justify your purchase ? The WRX is the faster car. Put two drivers with the same skill on a BRZ and WRX and the WRX will win. It's simple physics. The torque and all four wheels receiving power from the engine is enough. On a windy day maybe the BRZ has an advantage due to better aerodynamics, but it will likely still lose in a controlled environment.

@@alexv5581 You see that has already been done by every internet reviewer and professional driver at the magazines like car and driver and motor trend. The current WRX is the SLOWEST version if that car in 20 years. Tha "sad, weak, non turbo little BRZ" is documented to be as fast or faster 0-60 and quicker in the 1\4 mile every time. Not to mention in every single rolling test from every speed the BRZ actually smokes the shit out of the WRX. In those situations the AWD makes it slower and the added weight puts the WRX at a lower power to weight ratio? Add in worse aerodynamics, and less aggressive gearing and you have a car that is slower in every way. Not sure where you took your "physics" lessons but you need a refund. So am I justifying my purchase... YEP. Justifying it with facts.
