You CAN put your wipers in intermittent mode. It's the little push-button on the end of that stalk. You can even go into your car's settings and change the frequency (speed) of that intermittent function. I think the instructions are in the manual somewhere.

I also have a 2015 Cooper S! Its the first car I've bought myself, for myself! - The Bluetooth was a DEAL BREAKER when I was searching for this car. The only trim in this Mini generation that has Bluetooth audio is the Navigation package that has the screen in the middle instead of the whole area taken up by the spedometer. -The wipers don't have a typical intermittent setting. I've always described it as you have the speeds "too fast" and "shitstorm".... unless you just use the rain-sensing automatic lol - I actually hadn't noticed the side mirror, but I don't really use the mirrors too much. My ex and I are both 6ft, and we both found the blind spot in the car is huge, so we both religiously look and don't rely too much on the mirrspeedometer. - My mom asked me once why I looked like I was punching someone with the force I put this car into reverse😂 I just learned manual trans in this car, so I'm glad someone else also thinks that the shift barrier for reverse is a little.... intense. I love my car! I'd say the biggest downfall for myself is the small side mirrors. I already have some sight restrictions, but I'm so used to over compensating for it that I've overcome my slight annoyance about it.

You don't have to learn to live with the squeaking plastics. There is a super easy solution, you just need to buy a ptfe or silicone "dry" lubricant spray in a can and aim a little spray directly at the point where the two plastic parts connect and create the squeak. I used this on my Alfa Romeo 159 just last week and I love my car again! Ps You should totally do a video on the 159! Most beautiful sedan in the world.

I have a 2013 Countryman base model, the only thing I really hate about it is how thin the metal bodywork is. It s so very thin that the slightest little impact can dent it. For example, a plastic airplane model box fell off a shelf in my garage and dented the the hood above the right wheel. The thin cardboard box weighed less then a pound and only fell about 4 feet. I've had a couple other things like that happen to it too. But other than that I really love my car, even without a turbo it's still pretty zippy.

I own a 2012 countryman s and I don’t really have any of the same problems, I bought mine fully loaded to avoid the bare bones infotainment system. My biggest problem is the noise the car makes when you’re not wearing your seatbelt. I hear it all the time because somehow it picks up my phone or anything I put on the passenger seat and decides it needs to be buckled in. It’s also the same noise the check engine light makes so I get a good scare now and then. Also for the wipers if you click the button on the right stalk, go to set info then there you’ll find wiper speed .

It’s a good thing my 2015 Countryman S doesn’t have any of your problems. Try oiling the armrest hinge. I actually can’t see anything on my driver’s side mirror, so I just stuck on a blind spot mirror round. The thing with the Bluetooth and hooking up your phone (iPhone). The technology was changing so fast and BMW makes a special adapter. But, I went to my electronics store and got the two separate cables needed, then got an adapter to fork it into one, making it possible to plug in my iPhone. It didn’t cost over $100 like the BMW adapter and my custom one is longer. I’ll be more than happy to send you photos so you can actually see how mine is set up. I can’t figure out that dang windshield wiper out either, so I just tap mine when necessary.

I bought a 2012 R60 JCW (ALL 4), with 65K miles on it, for only US$ 13.9K; incl a one year warranty and both 19 inch JCW alloys w/new summer tires and 18 inch Mini alloy rims with winter tires. The car came fully spec'd to include the JCW aero kit, silver exterior w/full black leather interior, sun roof, roof rack, upgrading sound system, navigation, JCW badging/steering wheel, etc. Has run well after putting about 16k miles on it. It doesn't burn oil at all...I do change the oil at twice the recommended frequency (i.e. 5W30 synthetic every 5k miles). The first owner took care of this car, as it was very clean and had regular OEM garage service records. I will do a drain and refill of the transmission, with new filter/gaskets, within the next few months. I also plan to change the timing chain/guides at around 100k miles. The later will be pretty expensive, at around $2.5k, but it is well worth the peace of mind. While doing the timing chain, I will also change out both the water pump, turbo diverter valve and turbo oil line (with an upgraded after-market line). I have seen similar spec'd R60's for over US$20k...so the the car will still remain an excellent purchase after these investments in maintenance/prevention. Did I mention that this car is quite fun to drive and very practical! I live in Switzerland...where parkings spots are narrow/small...this car is easy to park. Nevertheless, it has plenty of interior room for a family of four. I have considered going back to a Porsche (maybe a Macan or Panamera as I had 2 carrera's in my youth...a 964 and a 993)...but this damn mini is like a go cart...very sporty for a small SUV. In the future, I might just tune it for a little extra HP (above the 218bhp stock), maybe throw in some rear stabilizer bars...some coil overs....etc.!

The auto wipers are actually the intermittent setting, I used to have a 2010 without auto wipers and that was intermittent but you couldn’t adjust it. On my 2013 it has the auto setting and you can actually adjust the sensitivity by pressing the button on the end of the left stalk until you get to SET/INFO and then hold down the same button until the menu opens up and there are three levels of sensitivity in the wiper menu.

Just lightly press the end of stalk, don't look for a button - Some of your setting are also on the the left stalk (same kind of button / nipple). Same thing just lightly press the end of the stalk. The modules I was suggesting on the last video are all to be connected on the rear of the original stereo. So you have to disassamble it. Usually it is then plugged to the CD changer interface and is faking a CD Changer. I did this on previous old Toyotas and with newer modules even the steering wheel controls have been useable. But I think there will be some issue. Your phone cannot be bluetooth connected to both, the original stereo and the aftermarket module, at the same time. So you might loose the opportunity to get called while streaming music. But most of those modules come with their own hands free phone support (using a not so nice own mic). So maybe you want to check BMW first for an option to retrofit the original music streaming feature.

Here's one that I hope you don't ever have to deal with that will certainly top all 5 you mentioned. NO SPARE TIRE. Oh but it has run flats, which means they're indestructible. Wrong. If you hit a small pot hole (barely considered a pot hole) because you couldn't swerve due to on coming vehicles, the low profile rim WILL tear a huge gash through the tire side wall, as it happened to me (the mini is my wife's car, not mine) in the middle of nowhere on a road trip, waited 2 hours for a tow, then waited a couple of more to get a new one put on. I had no idea they don't come with a spare. It gets better. You can't use a doughnut as a spare, it won't fit over the large break caliper. It gets even better. No factory manufacturer, including BMW, make a lesser expensive wheel with the exact and VERY UNIQUE dimensions of the factory mini countryman S rim. So if you don't want to risk getting stuck in the middle of nowhere on a road trip, you have to buy a full size mini countryman S factory rim with tire and throw it in the back, eliminating luggage space. Run flats my a$$.

In all fairness, it should be noted in your title, description and when opening the video review that you are driving an older, last generation version and not the newer one with an updated interior, engine and transmission.

BMW MINI is the only Brand who don’t discontinue their cars and destroy the buyers resale value like Ford and GM

Don't be a low rider. Raise the seat up. Then you can see the right mirror perfectly. You keep pointing at the intermittent wiper button. I call BS. You know where it is. '-)

The wiper thing , you just push in the button on the wiper lever for intermittent wiper setting

I have 2011 Audi and it’s the same thing with the Bluetooth mode. It’s crazy the only real thing I hate about it.

Just bought 2016 mini countryman and I must say I like it a lot, but yeah that reverse gear is a bit of a struggle. Could you please do a video that you fully accessorise your Countryman Mini?

I boiught the first Mini Cooper S in 2002. And it was so much fun to drive. BUT the milage was absolutely horrible. Esp when driving fast here In Germany. 3.5 - 5 mpg when driving really fast. Even the Camaro Z28 I had at the same time was much much economical ;)

So these are MOSTLY issues with YOUR Countryman, not the brand or model in general. Because the 2022 Countryman Iconic is absolutely LOADED and the quality is amazing.
