Cool video and relevant content. I always enjoy actual owner's thoughts vs reviewers. I think it is good to lead with the bad and then qualify that overall good, like you did. I bought a 23 Premiere trim in Feb 23 to hold me over until I took delivery of my Platinum trim in June of 23. Outside of software, I couldn't disagree with you more. The charging port is in the perfect location for Tesla Superchargers AND on street parking. The fact that lower trims don't get turn signals on the mirrors is inexcusable. Worse yet, why don't we still have the ability to set a charge limit? Good work, Ben!
@BensEcoAdvntrАй бұрын
Yeah I didn't think of on-street parking/charging since that's not super common in most of the US. Still waiting on Nissan to get supercharger access; I have a NACS adapter already and have used it with my Bolt EUV. And I should have mentioned the lack of a charge limit - that's another glaring omission. Thanks for watching.

The software for charging really needs to be updated to allow you to charge to a % . I was hoping they would have done so by now. One pedal driving will not be a feature or update for the Ariya as the Leaf motor has permanent magnets and the Ariya has built with Electro magnets ,Munroe and Associates went over this, so no one pedal driving to full stop.

Hello dear friends, I saw your post today and would like to thank you for it. I also like the Ariya very much and am considering whether I should switch from my current plug-in hybrid (which I am actually quite happy with) to a fully electric car. I have already looked at several cars and at the moment there are two that I really liked, those are the new all-electric Ford Explorer and the Nissan Ariya. Somehow I don't like the "perhaps more technically advanced" Hyundai, KIA, Tesla and co., nor the VW ID series. And so I am really grateful for the detailed and logical explanation of what you noticed. Because you usually notice it when you have already bought the vehicle and can no longer return it. What you have described are small things that are not small things, because they will make you regret the purchase at any moment. Thank you very much! I live in Germany and am not very good at English, so please forgive me for any spelling mistakes.

@@trambola1 Danke fürs Zuschauen! I think Ariya is great as long as you are familiar with finding charging and planning your own route. Can't you pre-set the car to charge only to 80%? Can you stop charging from your Nissan app?
@BensEcoAdvntrАй бұрын
One weird missing feature in the Ariya is you cannot set a charge limit, whether on AC or DC charging. So they just added the "Nissan Energy Charging Network" within the MyNissan app. It's basically access to ChargePoint, EVGo, and Electrify America thru one account. *If* the app works correctly (and it hasn't yet), you should be able to stop the charge from one of those networks using the app. But I've tried it twice, and both time the app gave an error message, but the station successfully started charging. Since the app didn't realize it was successful, it didn't give the option to end charging.

I have the 2024 Evolve E4orce . I agree about the charge port and wish it was on the driver side. It would be nice if Nissan fix the issue where you can't remove the charger from the port. Sometimes it just doesn't release it no matter what you do and no hitting the unlock on the key fob doesn't always work. I got a notification on the app about 2 recalls which were software updates and now when I connect to my home network, it actually does check for updates now. The single most thing I hate about my ariya is if you open the door while the car is rolling at all, it slams into park so aggressive that the car is rocking! I hate that! Oh and the back seat warning thing is annoying and needs a disable option!

That charger port location is a head-scratcher. I wonder if it's because in Japan the steering wheel is on the right so the port is on the driver's side, and they just didn't fix it for the left-hand drive market. But in the UK sidewalk-adjacent parking for charging from a lamp post is becoming a thing, so port on the left, sidewalk side, would make sense. My Chevy Bolt has it on the left, very convenient for our house as our side-driveway is on the right of the house as viewed from the street, so we drive in forwards, plug in from an outside socket, and it would be hard to miss that the car is plugged in when approaching the driver's door.

@@richcohen8341 excellent question. So for whatever reason, the Ariya is classified in the US as a passenger car. Per federal regulations, only light trucks/MPVs are allowed to have dark tinted windows from the factory. Most crossovers are considered light trucks, but this one isn't.
