I've got a Toyoya Corolla Verso 2.0 D4D 2005,that will still overtake most cars on the road,that I can drive with no hands at 100mph,and it will not budge...I'm going to give it a well earned rest,and replace most of the driving with a Honda 2013 CR-V 2.2 IDTEC,that I found with low miles and garaged!! I had a 1999 Lincoln Town Car, 4.6l and put 780,000 kms on it without any major problems. Engine didn't burn any oil, the transmission shifted fine and the ac still blew cold. The only reason I got rid of it was it started getting rust problems on the body. That comes with living in the rust belt of southern Ontario where you get dust clouds of salt on the dry roads in winter.

We bought a Mazda6 Grand Touring in 2017. It was the 2015 model. We were apprehensive since we’d never bought an Asian car before. We decided this time buying a used car, we’d wait until we found exactly what we wanted. It took about 8 months, but I suddenly saw an ad for the Mazda6 black mica with beige leather seating, navigation system and a Bose sound system with disc player. We’ve owned it 7 years and it’s still a pleasure to drive and be a passenger. When it’s time for a new vehicle, we’ll definitely find a low mileage 2019 example to accept compliments on as we still do today.

My Honda accord 1992 died after 1997 after an engine failure with 120K miles. I thought this was something I didn't do to maintain my car well. After that I bought a 1998 Accord in 2000. I've had multiple issues with this car starting from odometer failure being bad even after replacing 2 times, but the final blow was when the transmission died in 2005. There was a huge class action lawsuit against Honda during this time regarding its transmission failure in multiple models, but my car was not included in it and had to dump it. Since then, I've only driven Ford and GMC and they have been extremely reliable for me with 98 Ford explorer even after 300K miles and 23 years and donated to get a newer car.

I’m impressed with the Toyota Camry and Mazda 6 going over 600,000 miles! I currently own a 2009 Mazda 6 top of the line model, with Bose surround sound, sunroof, titanium wheels and it just hit 100,000 miles, drive smooth, cold ac, I keep up the maintenance with the oil changes, tires, etc, it’s going strong.

Here is a secret that I will share. I grew up in Japan and I have friends from the auto industry. The best cars in Japan are Toyota and Honda and, the others like Mazda are good but I prefer to buy a Mazda over Toyota/Honda because most of the Mazda cars are made in Japan, thus the quality is much higher and the price is lower because they don't have the same brand awareness.

Had a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3, bought it with 24,000 miles and sold the car with 189,000 miles. Had a Cobb tune and custom intake. Never had to open the engine up. It leaked nothing, timing chains were fine, original turbo was fine, never even had to change the clutch after all those miles. I did have to replace all rubber bushings, in the front suspension and some in the rear, I did that with 165,000. At 95,000 I had one axle boot split and replaced that axle. Brakes, one belt, spark plug and oil changes, that was it. Never turned on a check engine light. Hands down, the most reliable car I ever owned until I traded it in on a Cadillac two years ago.

Retired auto mechanic, 47 years in the trade. These are all really dependable cars for sure. You left the VERY best one out. The Mercedes Benz 123 series. 240, and 300D cars are absolutely amazing. My wife and I still daily drive a pair of them. Dependable, easy to service, very economical, and a pure pleasure to drive. We also have a Chevy Silverado pickup that has been a true workhorse. The Mercedes 124 is an awesome car as well, if equipped with a diesel engine. Great video!

Our 2011 Honda “Oddy” van has over 180 thousand miles, still rides and drives like new! It is a high trim model that we bought used. It is the fanciest optioned vehicle we,ve ever owned. Took a few years to discover all of the gee whiz options, but the good news is that none of those options have failed! Unlike the Ford Windstars, Pintos, Mustangs, Fairlanes, Falcons, and LTDs it has never left us sitting along the road. Not room enough to describe the blown engines, head gaskets, dead transmissions, rusted on wheels, and mysterious stoppages of those Fords that we assumed were just typical problems that never let us see 100,000 miles in any of them. We were several generations deep in buying only Fords, but that torturous tradition is OVER!

1992 Jeep Cherokee. 383,000 miles. Straight six 4. 0 liter engine. Only had to take the a/c system apart to convert it to the new freon. Other than that, just oil changes and routine tune ups. Had to change the window rubber parts because they dried up after 20 years. Oh, it did start to drip a little oil in the driveway. But that ancient straight six engine, and the Toyota automatic trans, seem to be bulletproof.

My 6-speed manual 2003 GTI VR6 is still going strong after 22 years (got new in October 2002) as my daily driver! I can't kill this thing! The only mechanical issues over the years (decades!) were a broken cooling fan, MAF sensor, and slightly leaking engine gasket (top of motor... I forgot what it's called). Total repair cost was around $1500, which is not bad for 22 years. The engine never 'burned excessive oil' whatsoever, and I often never checked oil levels in between oil changes (6 months to a year using Castrol synthetic then LiquiMoly synthetic)! The level would always remain the same! The car still has the original timing chains as well, and i've never changed the manual transmission oil! The naturally aspirated six still purrs like it's new every time I turn the key! It may not have a backup camera or screen, but who cares. This German Panzer Tank has been more reliable than a Toyota all these years, and I probably just got lucky. I believe VW's 2nd generation 2.8L VR6 is the best engine VW has ever made! If this car was offered new, I would buy it again in a heartbeat! Best car i've ever owned, by far.

She tore around a corner, lost control, put it in the ditch (more like a ravine). Took out the muffler and damaged the engine. Of course, she did not want to cover the damage. My insurance did, and my father in law, bless him, paid the deductible. ❤️

My 2008 Toyota matrix seems to be ok with its high milage. I like that the passenger seat folds down flat so i can carry 8 foot lumber in it and i can sleep in it when i am camping and i can put a pizza on the fold down like a small table and eat the pizza while i drive.

As a commercial driver in Australia I had a '95 auto diesel Toyota single cab utility.It was less than 2/3rds the size of the bloated things around today.I often carried 2 tonnes with it & it never stopped on me. It had 620,000klms in it when it was murdered by a rather intense "stab-in-the-back" by a loaded 6 tonne truck. No oil use,1 gearbox rebuild & no rust. Legend.

Diesel can run on veggie oil. The inventor Mr. Diesel made it to run on Veggie oil not diesel oil. Rockerfeller wanted his oil as the fuel. If someone has a hard time finding Diesel veggie oil can be used and it burns cleaner. Some people pick up used oil from restaurants, filter it and have free fuel.

1995 landcruiser diesel 4.2ltr straight 6, no turbo. 700000kms and going strong. Know of a handful of same series landcruiser s around town that have done 1.5 million kms, and still running strong. You can not kill the 80 series landcruiser, it will rust away before it stops.

201385 miles on our Honda Odyssey. Put in the third set of NGK iridium spark plugs last week and hoping for the best. Will keep as long as it remains safe and reliable. Also completed the 19th drain and fill on the transmission. Synthetic oil changes with filter every 5000 miles.

@snickboy51 only major part was diff after about 200,000k. Which all cars need to do, often sooner. Was still working but getting noisy. Otherwise nothing much. Original motor is still fine

My Lexus LS 430 is still running strong after leaving the showroom in 2004. 20 years later, I still have the original parts, including the timing belt. I'll change the timing belt next month just because I felt guilty. Where else can you hear of a timing belt lasting 20 years. Lexus is just amazing. I got my Tesla now to drive around and put my Lexus to retirement. ❤

2004 Toyota Solara. Fully loaded and everything works. I've changed the timing belt is all. It's not started twice and both times it was a dead battery. 30.5 mpg and every time I get in she starts and we go. Can't beat it. 184k miles.

Volkswagon Jetta to the Passat I’ve had a 2012 Jetta in 2014 owned it 7 years 33000 miles when I got it sold it with 259 on the dash only tuned it up tires brakes whole time owing it ran immaculate Passat 2020 incredible 760 miles to empty on the gas hands down monsters !!

2022 VW Tiguan SE, 4 Motion. Best vehicle I've ever had, absolutely no issues. 100K miles, looks new, only replaced tires. Our Subaru, Toyota, and Volvo all had terrible quality control issues. Average milage today 31 hwy, 26 city.

I have a 2002 Acura RSX Type S 6 speed which I love. I have maintained it with Acura or Honda the entire time. It only has just under 116,000 miles. I see it lasting for years still. Best car I ever owned.

Generally speaking a manual transmission is more reliable than the automatic. Clutch replacement is the biggest expense, but doesn't happen often.

1997 Lexus ES 300. 235 K runs like a top. Sure, maintenance items but engine, transmission no problem.

Nice video, but how could you omit the Panther platform vehicles? Definitely among the best among the vehicles you featured. Lincoln Town Car, Mercury Grand Marquis, Ford Crown Victoria. Platform ran from 1980 to 2011. Million milers. Simple cars. Among the best.

My current 2008 dodge charger with a V6 3.5l aspirated engine now has 401,890 miles and still going very strong. I credit my timely synthetic oil changes and now a quart of Lucas additive with it lasting so long. Wish me luck the next 100,000 miles. 👍

I put 360,000 in 13 years on my last Chevy truck, but rust becomes a major problem at about 9 years.

Sad news is they will never produce such cars again. Remember the Volvo Jeep? That car was strong and long lasting that the manufacturers could in the end not even sell spare parts and went bankrupt. Strongly built cars drive down sales. Broadcasting their strength wakes up the manufacturers sooner and they start tweaking the cars to the extend an average buyer has to have bought at least 3 cars during their life.

I had an 07 Camry Hybrid that had 192,000 miles before getting rid of it. Just rwgular maintenance and no battery issue's. Little things started to happen, a check engine light and other small issues. Decided to upgrade to a 2018 Toyota Highlander. It had 34,000 miles when I got it June 2021. It now has 129,000 and runs hust as good as the day I bought it. Im keeping it til it dies. Hopefully I can get to 400,000 miles plus on it

2011 Nissan altima 2.5 engine 524000 miles I bought it new. Only just typical things that go wrong with it so performs beautifully but I do have an excellent mechanic

The reality is that it comes down to the driver , if you take care of your car it will take care of you , bought my 2015 GMC Sierra brand new 10 years later not a single issue only oil changes heck my brother in laws 2002 Ram 1500 has over 400k miles on it and I known several people with Toyotas and Hondas that are always breakjng down , so it comes down to you really

Glad the Suburban is on the list. My 1992 Mercedes Benz 500SEL has 475, 000 miles. Bought Ford Police Explorer Interceptor at 66K miles; it just crossed 171K with zero breakdowns. Even the scary internal water pump is still intact. Ford built those cars tough indeed.

I bought the first Lexus LS 400 in Houston in 1990. I drove it from Houston To Charleston SC. On a stretch of HWY got into race with Camaro. At 150 mph I chickened out. They followed me into gas station they could not believe the car was that fast. I was 40 years. That was probably one of best cars i have ever had.

Also had a LS 400 1993. Bought it new and got over 350,000 miles on it till it was totaled in an accident Best car I ever owned. The only thing it needed was a starter at around 250K and that’s it

That mileage may be well the case on previous generation vehicles such as the Camry, Accord and Legacy among others. I doubt newer, CVT models they're making now have accomplished that. CVTs are cheaper to make and more expensive to repair. I would never buy one and am sticking with the conventional engine/transmission that's tried and true.

I once had a Ford XF Station Wagon that reached 999,999. The odometer couldn't get any higher, so I'm not sure how far it actually travelled in the end, until an accident totalled it. I miss that car, it never broke down.

I have a toyota tundra. It's fairly reliable. 201k only minor problems. My last one went 232k until motor gave out. I also have a bmw 430i gran coupe. 160k nothing but maintenance. No leaks or anything else. Just tires, brakes, oil and fluid changes. I've owned mercedes, audi,acura,honda, infiniti. Bmw and Toyota seem to be the most reliable. Bmw is the only one that's never left me stranded. Tundra and celica have. I've owned about 7 bmw vehicles. 300k is easy. Never had a Toyota that far but I know several people who have. They have spent quite a bit on major repairs though.
