A very fair assessment of the negatives of that model IMO. I'd also probably add the difference of the wheel track between front and rear.

Why would you pay big bucks for a new Toyota 4x4 that has a little 4cl diesel motor and no room in the cab also a silly stupid skinny rear end that dosnt match the front 😳 please explain because Toyota are tight arses , ok then go for a 300series but that hasn't got a solid diff up front and no tuff gutter mounts on it no decent tailgate anymore , so ya got to stay with the old girls and keep fixing them and their great they dont have poofy sensors and computers on them 😊 are you listening Toyota !!

And dudes keep buying them as they are. And whilst they keep leaving the show rooms as they are, Toyota won't spend on updating. You have to understand the auto hubs and when you do, you will know that you can disconnect and have the front drive stationary. In auto mode, shift transfer control to 2H and then reverse a little. Hubs will disconnect the front drive exactly that same as old hubs in FREE. You are correct in that you must stop, select 4H and drive forward (or reverse) to engage. If you are in and out of 4x4 for most of the day, it is better to manually lock them with the spanner and that way you have front drive ready anytime you pull the stubby transfer lever.

Seriously how can any love these things is beyond me. If any other manufacturer sold a car with so many design faults, things that need to be changed, they would have been taken to court so many times, they would be broke a long time ago. What do you love, because I have watched many of these videos and everyone comes up with something different, there is problems and issues with just about every competent. There is one I have never heard is not bad, the radiator, but I guess someone will hate that as well. Sorry for the rant, what I think of these cars doesn't really matter, if the owners love them, that's all that matters.

Lets keep in mind before providing feedback to Toyota, the traditional market for these vehicles has been superseded by a variety of groups (all with too much cash) that buy this vehicle solely for its ability to be customized. If you want something all spec'ed out from factory then every other 4wd manufacturer is for you. Keep LC basic forever.
