You seem like a sincere and humble guy who loves cars, post great content on KZbin for us car guys to watch yet people are obsessed about your family, how you got the money etc. people need to enjoy the content you provide and mind their own business. Wow...I couldn't disagree more. I own a 650 and I own a ferrari and personally I think the exhaust note on the Mclaren (with he sport exhaust) is AMPLY loud. I wake up my entire neighborhood on Sunday morning leaving my garage. I love the interior styling and its simplicity, especially the cup holders hidden behind the screen and the AC knob not he door. The infotainment system is far and away the best of any car in its class. You can't seriously believe the terrible screen in the dash of the 458 is nicer. My system has never crashed and is easy to navigate (much nicer than my range rover and GL63)...I wish all touch screen systems were as intuitive and clean. And come on, complaining about pressing the active button?? That's weak.

1. with the sport exhaust it sounds better than every example you gave 2. the reason there is an active button is because track mode takes off all electronic controls, so it is a safety feature to make sure you are ready for track mode 3. iris system has never crashed for me, if you have a 15 update it. backup camera is crap, I will give you credit on that one 4.if you don't like how it looks don't buy it, looks like styling from the year 5. interior is super clean and straight lines are comforting to most people 650s is my daily driver and these views you have are all subjective.

I agree with most of what you said especially the rear end could have and should have been made to look different, I still have people ask me if mine is a 12C and I hate that lol. But you should have included top 5 things you like. It is definitely a drivers car so glad you pointed that out but there are many other great things about these cars!!!

1. Exhaust note: I agree with you, that is if you compare it against the Italian cars. Although those are universally known characteristics of a turbo charged engine, 911s are the same too, it could be slightly rectified. A quick exhaust system change could alleviate your concern. 2. The active button is there as a safety measure and to reassure your choice when changing your drivetrain & suspension settings. There is a short cut for the lift system and its easy to engage, just hold the stock up for 2 seconds then up again which is pretty quick. 3. The IRIS system has been updated and Mclaren will gladly do so to your car for free on your next service. 4. I agree with you about the rear end, no doubt about it. Its not the prettiest out there. 5. The interior design was to have a driver's focused approach at most thus it might seem a bit boring for some but I believe its a matter of personal taste really. All in all, the 650s can easily beat its Italian rivals where it counts in its performance, and to me that's where it counts the most.

I agree with most of the points you bring up with the exception of the rear of the cars looking exactly the same.The 12C had the painted part for the whole width of the car whereas the 650S has a black center area for most of the width. To me this latter version looks better. The one thing I really hate about my 650S is the systems display while on track. I always have the Wheels Pressure page displayed while on track. When the tire pressure becomes too high you get an audible alarm with a written message that pops up to tell you the pressure is high. I then have to press the OK button a few times to clear all messages and I then have to dig back in the menu system to bring up the Pressure page, quite a feat while doing 250 kmh with a turn coming up fast! It would be so much better if the applicable system page would pop up automatically and you could see right away what the problem is.

1: I can live with the exhaust note. A bit more livable in the long term vs. louder naturally aspirated. I like the sound of the turbos. To each their own. 3: Ergonomics - agree active button IRIS is garbagio. This is the weakest part of the car. A fast android tablet would be so much better. 4: Rear end is beautiful. I wish it looked more like the 12c but with 650s performance. Don't like the front as much either. 6: I love the interior! Mine is all leather. I like how clean it is. Italian cars look bonkers (but bad to me). The interior won me over from day 1 vs. Italian counterparts.

While I do enjoy the exhaust note on the 650S, I do see where you're coming from. It's not as brutal as the Huracan or the 458. And McLaren being a company that really wants to make the perfect driver's car, a perfect driver's car also includes a menacing exhaust. I'm sure an exhaust company will come up with an intricate exhaust system to truly unleash the sound of McLaren's V8 like some manufacturers have done for other cars like the M4, the GTR, the G35/7 and many more.

Well.. you are lucky that you have tried these cars. - but I dont agree on the noise, and exterior styling, its a personal matter of taste. - but I do agree on the complex buttom pushing to get anything done, there are no reason to press this and that and then turn another for one action. - the interiør, well, again, a matter of taste, but it looks a bit "cheap" and simple.. I never was a big fan of the 650S. I think if you design a new car, you should change things slightly instead of designing something completely new. Because of the head lights the 650S looks like a wanna-be P1 while the back looks like the 12C. Hopefully, McLaren will develop a new car that looks more mature and less like its predecessors.

The next proper drivers car made in America will be the first. British (McLaren & Gordon Murray) and Italian (Ferrari, Pagani etc, etc) cars lead the world in super car design and this car is an engineering triumph. For one of your compaints you are just plain wrong, two are subjective, one is rightly done because of safety concerns, so you don't really have much to moan about. This car is all about the driving experience and in that regard it is one of the very very best.

Like my mclaren 650s spider in yellow. Have fabspeed kit in it and the sound it brings will make a ferrari 458 sound like a camry in comparison. Interior wise, i have been in a 458 and the "sticky" button are cheap and problematic. As for the mvlaren 570s, it just looks like a small frog to me. So cannot compare that to the 650s as it is the cheaper platform.
