5 Things I LOVE About my CAMMED LS4 2006 Monte Carlo SS!

Would you recommend this car just to take it out on sundays and aimlessly drive while listening to music? 😂 Cuz my first car was a 2001 Monte Carlo SS and my second car a 2010 Charger SXT. Both cars were fun.

I made a video about 3 months ago talking exactly about that. It’s a good cruise car that has good power, but I would never use the chassis for building a drag/track car. Unless you converted it to RWD.

fwd not gay 😂 faster than rwd because it corners better and has superior traction. And the transmission is a heavier duty version of what you'd find in the V6.

Did you rebuild your trans with different parts?

We sent it to a guy and basically he upgraded the input shaft, clutch packs, and a few other things. I’ve rebuilt other transmissions that were RWD but never a FWD so I didn’t even want to bother with that.

It’s a summit racing cam, don’t quite remember the exact one and the exhaust is just a full straight pipe from the cat back.

No, it’s a 4 speed auto unfortunately. We did build it to handle power though as they are overall pretty junk transmissions.

Where u get the red engine cover?

I actually just painted it myself. I masked off the manifold bulges, scuffed the outer sides and just shot some generic red paint over it.

How many miles before u had problems with your tranny ?

I got the car with about 125k on it. So not sure how many transmissions it went through before I got it but there is no way it was the original. The stock ones will only last about 40-50k miles with the LS4 in front of them lol.

O, they were off of eBay. The brand was Spec D’s but I don’t remember the exact model.
