I have a Volvo C30 RDesign also she's my baby the best car I have ever own. She's a 2008 plate and she's still going strong, she still looks like brand new, even when I take her in to be serviced & Motd they praise her and that's at the dealers. I don't have any complaint about her boot space she's never let me down about what I've needed to carry, I also love that the doors are also wide opening as well. These cars are well made, well thought about for the purpose of the driver, changing the headlamp bulbs is easy I do it myself all the time when it needs to be done. I love them and my vroom. Shame this model is discontinued, I can't understand why they did that.

I’m so glad, I love mine as well! I am sad they’re discontinued as well but i’m happy to have had the chance to own one and I plan on keeping it a while. Who knows maybe it will become a collector car one day :)

I have no intentions on changing mine either it's a case of keeping the car well in good condition because these cars are really reliable, look after the car and it will look after you. You can increase performance with the Volvo Polestar tune. It’s dealer installed and increases the HP and Torque and changes the mapping to improve the power band. More power lower in rev range. You’ll notice the difference but of course the car has no need for more power anyway. I have owned both a 2012 R Design with the Polestar tune and an earlier 2008 base T5. Enjoy your car it’s a great daily driver as you’ve said! Good review! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎆

Thought I would get bored of it quick and go back to a 4x4 but i'm hooked and never want to get rid of it lol

This car looks amazing for 150k+ miles on it. You can tell you and whoever owned it before you took care of it. I find that to be kind of the standard with Volvo's in general. People buy them for safety mostly so they aren't beat to death and usually well maintained. It's also funny how people don't buy Volvo thinking high performance car. But the C30 definitely is fun to drive and handles incredibly well. Too bad they stopped making them in the states. Hope they bring it back one day.

Thank you man I appreciate it. I definitely lucked out on this example. I feel the same way - previous owners take good care of their volvos which makes buying them used a great idea. I had no idea about volvo as a brand until I drove this car and I was hooked!

Your'e not wrong. I have a C30 r-design with 80,000 on the clock. It's the most perfect car I've ever owned full stop. Amazing road handling, pulls so hard in 4th gear then into 5th, 6th for a super smooth quiet ride unless like you say I have the sound system on.

Things I like about my C3 2.0d: -huge amount of torque -good amount of power (stage 1-170HP) -nimble as hell -good quality interior -nice exterior design -stiff suspension(good for sporty driving, but a nightmare for city driving) -insanely good sound system (i have the premium one) Things I don’t like: -when snowy, the FWD is not the best for having fun (almost crashed it twice for not turning) -even tho you have 2 backsears, no one had ever managed to stay behind me as the leg room is non existent. - the halo headlights are like 2 candles at night. I have switched to phillips pro night vision in order to see something at night - fuel consumption is not great compared to other 2.0 diesel engines. - common problems with the electronics. (My right door electrics don’t work for whatever reason). -common turbo problems, injector problems, - DPF filter is the worst out of all car makers, as it has a lifespan of aprox 150.000km or 90.000miles

The C30 pretty much *is* the Focus ST with a Volvo body. Which is a great car as the Ford model, but Volvo took the level of luxury and quality up to eleven. All of the technical parts are interchangeable between the Volvo and the Focus.

Hello from Brazil, i love my 2009 C30, how should you already know the C30 is derivative of volvo 1800ES that was a shooting brake and today I can see some similarity especially when the back seats are folded, in your car(in my car to).

Awesome car man! But if the clutch is feeling weird to you then you should replace it. The pedal should have plenty of leeway off the floor before it engages. Your car is at 150k and its well worth it to put in a new clutch/flywheel before it takes a shit and strands you on the road or causes other failures. While you’re down there id recommend pressure washing the bell housing and replacing the slave cylinder too. It would be a big project but it could save your ass

I might be the odd one out here, but my C30 is a 2.0L Turbo Diesel (diesels were really popular here in the UK) and i’ll be keeping it until i go electric. I'm considering this car in black colour, y. 2007, 109k km, and 4 cyl. engine 1,8 or 2,0 benzin, european version as here in EU we usually don't have available the 5 cyl. engines. I absolutely love the overall look of this car, yet I'm not sure about the engine's durability after this long time, I only know it's a Ford engine produced in Belgium or NL. Hope I will buy this car and nothing else and hope it will serve me for a few years without major issues. I love all cars with 3 doors, but this one has probably 2,5 doors:).

@davesemak3 жыл бұрын
Our 2008 C30 has a timing belt, I went to the dealership to check. Some had timing chains that year according to a friend, our C30 has about 18,000 miles on it and we keep it a climate controlled garage in Florida. I’m concerned about the timing belt, I’m not sure if I should spend the roughly $1,000 necessary to replace it in this low mileage car?
@AmrinDosanjh3 жыл бұрын
These cars can be expensive if going to a shop/dealer for every service. I believe the timing belt is recommended every 100k miles or so, I recently had it done along with the water pump which was very expensive. Aside from that, expect to pay more for brakes, oil, etc. due to its luxury and premium nature. Again, despite the costs I have enjoyed the car immensely, and you get what you pay for in this case

Sadly you can't find a lot of these in France so I will surely have to buy one in the Netherlands or Germany. Which engine do you recommand for a young driver like me who learnt driving with a 95 HP Peugeot 2008?
@AmrinDosanjh3 жыл бұрын
I can see why you’re drawn to the C30! Honestly I would pick whatever you can find at a good price and what you can afford. The T5 is excellent but definitely pricey on gas and maintenance can cost more. I only have experience with the T5 but as a new driver honestly I think you’ll love any engine, especially if you can find a manual transmission which I recommend immensely! Good luck🙏🏽

How about the fuel consumption?
@AmrinDosanjh3 жыл бұрын
I believe this car has a good balance of fuel efficiency and power. It isn't necessarily a car you buy due to its fuel efficiency, unless you're going for a diesel. I average roughly 23-25mpg in combined driving but I can achieve 30mpg or higher if doing a long road trip primarily on freeway. Premium fuel here in California definitely hurts but it's 100% worth it for me due to the other things I love about the car
