As a suggestion consider buying an electrical blanket to stay warm and sleep better.

Good tips! I am also considering moving to Portugal and I am OK with the local culture and attitude - one does not live to work but the other way around! This is the way in France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece ...to name a few European countries. Life is to precious and short to work your ass off (unless you work for yourself).

Yes put even working for yourself, you need to find a way to enjoy life , otherwise life will pass you by, and at the end you wished you slowed down. Time is all we have. When it’s over it’s over and you don’t know when it’s going to happen.

Ola, Natalie! Nice to see you and your channel. The best of luck with growing it. It shouldn’t take long to build up a loyal following if you post fairly regularly. Thank you for your two cents worth regarding what to be aware of when moving to Portugal. It’s my plan to move when I retire as my pension will only allow me to live in Portugal or somewhere equally reasonable compared with much of Europe. Even if costs are rising, it’s cheaper than here (U.K.) or my home country of Ireland. Also, it’s safe and I speak the language. I also love the down-to-earth honesty of the people, the music, the scenery, the history and the food. And much of the Portuguese wine, port and liquor are lovely too. Coming from Canada, are you of Portuguese extraction? I watch Adelina’s Tiny Home channel. She’s a Portuguese Canadian whose family emigrated the other way, to Canada. (The Portuguese were always great globetrotters!) If you are considering topics to cover, it would be helpful for viewers who are considering a move to PT to see what a weekly shop costs in Pingo Doce or Lidl, what the cost of living is like, whether it’s cheaper to shop in the local open-air markets and so on. Just an idea. Again, great to see you on here, and the very best of luck and happiness to you in your new home.

Thank you so much for your extensive comment. I’m not of Portuguese origin, I’m originally from Switzerland then moved to Canada and got married raised 3 children. There are some videos on my channel that explain this a bit to show my story and background. Yes I will show my next grocery shop loot and the price. Thanks again for taking the time for commenting much appreciated 😊

I think Portugal is so over-rated. I lived there a few years ago and I absolutely hated it. I am glad that other people love it. It's a good place on paper, but reality is very different.

What did you not like living in Portugal ? Would like to know your side as it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
