Gorreana is a Portuguese company headquartered in São Miguel Island, Azores. In operation since 1883, it is the oldest tea plantation in Europe. The company produces black and green tea. Green and black tea plantations were introduced to the island in the 19th century, from seeds brought by ships returning from the Eastern world and with the help of technical expertise provided by a Chinese man called Lau-a-Pan and his interpreter Lau-a-Teng. By the early 20th century, 10 separate factories and almost 50 tea plantations were thriving on the island.

As a mother myself, I feel like my children became adults with families of their own in a blink of an eye. I do not think that I had emotionally prepared myself for this part of my life. Having a hobby was never a big thing for me because I always had family. I will be taking a short trip here soon and I am looking forward to it. I will be in the state that I live but it is to a place that I have not been and doing something that I have never done before. It is a bit scary but I am going to do it afraid. I want to thank you for sharing your experiences. You just never know who is watching and what they can learn from you. As we get older, learning from others and their life experiences should be beneficial in a healthy and positive manner🙂💜

I grew up in the highlands, five hours of daylight in winter and 5 hours of dark in summer !

Thank you for the links, I will look into them because I will be needing help. You seem so sad in this video...don't be sad, I love my solitude, I have been alone all my life, I was married for only 4 years, I will NEVER do that again. I prefer being alone. So chin up! You've made it to PT, you are living my dream! Lilly R. & pup 🐕

I moved to Brazil in 2006 and lived there for three horrible years. I imagined that it would be like Portugal but it isn't in any way except the language. Brazil is a terrible place, morally corrupt, full of thieves and liars and the laziest people I have ever worked with, five day week ends and never on time! I stayed briefly in Lisbon and visited Porto and one of my best friends moved to Algarve from Amsterdam many years ago and loves it. I tried to move to Lisbon after Sao Paulo but couldn't find anywhere to rent that wasn't B&B !

I moved to Paris in 1978 so it seemed logical to come back 'home' ! I did move to China after Brazil but it was a case of out of the frying pan into the fire ! Horrible time. I am comfortable in France, I know that laws and customs and it is my first language since many years. I moved to the south west of France during lockdown as I was just retired and love it, just a little too hot in summer with 39°c in the shade often ! I had considered Italy but again it's all B&B and I don't want to buy a home as I am alone with no children so no point ! @@liveyourbestlifeover50
