I was actually looking into the CISabroad program at Bond and was wondering if you knew anyone going into it and if it was easy to meet people?
@kenziebrown64338 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry I didn't see this comment until now! I didn't know anyone going into the program, and it was my first time flying internationally! Going it alone I was naturally nervous. CISabroad is INCREDIBLE at making sure everyone in the program feels welcome & gets to know each other. The orientation in Sydney was basically a bunch of fun events that gave us time to meet one another, so it was really easy to get to know everyone in the group. By the end of my time abroad our CIS group of about 20 people really felt like family. :)

Hi, I'm planning to study at Bond Uni next year. I'm going to studying health science, but I have no basis. How could I prepare for this course?

Hi, I am planning on going here after two years of community college ( to work on the side also for some money ) I heard that Bond has an accelerated degree program which you can obtain a degree in two years. Is this apply for all programs? ( i want to get into Biomedical) thanks so much
@taranelson44647 жыл бұрын
Hi, yeah at bond we do trimesters instead of semesters. So a normal degree at a normal uni is 6 semesters (three years), at bond that'll be accelerated to 2 years. Biomed is 2 years :)

Hey Kenzie! Not sure if you'll see this now but I was wondering if you'd be willing to answer a couple questions? :) 1) Do you recommend living on or off campus? and was your roommate also from CIS? 2) After orientation are there other events that help you 'keep up' with the CIS group / how easy or hard was it to find a group of friends? 3) Was it hard balancing school with exploring?

1- I lived on campus with a roommate from CIS and had an absolute blast! Living on campus is a great way to meet people in the accommodation center. I do know some people who chose to live off campus & they had a great experience as well. I think it's a matter of personal preference... whether you like to be around a ton of people or like more on-your-own living. 2- We had three or four CIS group excursions (one ~every month) so it was nice to catch up with the entire group & see how everyone was doing. I did make most of my friends through CIS, and we stay in touch still. It's not hard to meet other people, though, through Bond's on and off campus activities-- it's an exciting place to live! 3- It wasn't very hard for me since I only took three classes, but my actual grades did count for my transcript. So many other people took the classes for pass/fail credit, so they had it a bit easier. Definitely check with your school to see what their transfer policy is! I recommend making the most of the time you have to explore in Australia and the surrounding areas though, it's such a beautiful part of the world! Hope this helps! :)

Thanks so much!! If everything works out i'll be going this Fall :) I think mine and most peoples biggest concern is about meeting friends so I'm glad to hear you met some through CIS!

oh and i was wondering how was the weather when you went?? i know the gold coast is pretty much warm year round but since its spring sept-nov did it interfere with going to the beach, etc?
@kenziebrown64337 жыл бұрын
The weather was BEAUTIFUL from September to November-- In the 70s-80s. Once it hit December it started to really heat up to the 90s, but it was never too miserable. Only a few rainy days, but overall it was GORGEOUS!
