1. Socializing is not a talent it’s a skill - learn how to socialize/ special up try to socialize more 2. People don’t care about you and don’t you should not care if they do 3. Don’t have to know what you need for your rest of your life 4. Don’t have to go to college to be successful 5. Friendships don’t last
@damangoliving96532 жыл бұрын
That first point is so true!🔥 Unfortunately, learning to socialise is really a trial by error effort. However, I think there’s nothing better than putting in the work and seeing the fruits of your labour afterwards. Seeing yourself grow from someone who finds it difficult to talk or socialise and then to witness yourself crawl out from that position must feel so good.

it's one of the most gratifying forms of growth that there is imo. communication is essential for a happy/fulfilling life

11:55 is 100% true about highschool friendships. After graduation everybody will pretty much spread out and live with their own lives. I miss the basketball games with the homies for sure but I’m glad I got to experience it. DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED😭💯

The first point is very true, Jordan, that socializing is a talent and not a skill. Skill is developed ability, whereas, talent is inherent ability; this distinction is important to make, as people often use these terms interchangeably, when their meanings are actually quite different.

Whenever I get shy or overthink on socializing, I just do it anyway. I try to distill the notion in my head that goes like - “learn to be comfortable, with Being uncomfortable”

Good video, Jordan! I feel like the high schoolers among us are going to greatly benefit from this advice. I myself don't regret the extra curriculars that I did in high school, I worked a fast food job which helped with the social/customer service skills for sure 😂 and along with that I was a competitive swimmer and I was doing business pitches in an entrepreneurial club which was an incredible experience for me to get at 17 yrs old 💯

1:50 so true! socializing is a muscle . We have to train everyday to improve 2:28 we need to speak up in the class. We feel that if we say something, everybody will laugh. Those who ask questions become fool for 2 minutes. Those who don't ask questions, they become fool for life:)

I literally have no excuse to be anti social like so many people try to talk to me but then I never end up trying to start a conversation. Like I realize I missed so many opportunities to improve my social life even in the past 3 months and it’s cause im scared that I’ll get laughed at or do something stupid. I wasn’t going to join the basketball team this year cause again I was scared of being laughed at but now I think I’m gonna join to make some new friends
