I was born and raised in Jax and the only ones I know about on this list are the casa marina and 45th & Moncrief 😂 but I think it’s because I grew up near and around the beaches. I think it really depends on which side of Jacksonville when you ask “locals”. Jacksonville is so big that every area is like it’s own town. You’ll get different answers from mandarin residents than northside residents and especially Neptune beach all the way down to Ponte Vedra residents. But as a local, I will check out some of the places on this list

LOL! What would you recommend adding to this list? As a local also I love to try and experience new things so its nice to have a diverse list with your not so average places to go and PLEASSEEEEEEE go to Salento Steakhouse.

My correction I've only made it 7 miles one way on bike. The trail is actually 14.5 miles long one way. 😄

I lived in Jacksonville. Top thing to do is move. This city has too many issues with little or nothing to do. Keep driving until you hit Tampa. More diverse less crime racial tensions cleaner the people make more money so they actually open businesses other than bars and mediocre restaurants. Jacksonville has three nice areas. The beaches which isn’t Jacksonville technically. The south East side off the 295 and a little west of downtown. The city is rundown and overpriced. The big builders built too many cookie cutter homes. Stay away from anything around the airport. A lot of the new homes are built in swamps or flood zones so your insurance agent will love you. If you really are set to move to this dingy city. Rent for a year its cheaper and home values will be dropping just like the rents are.

@@YashaWells I would recommend you revisiting the list and ask people who are actually from Jacksonville or lived there for a very long time not transplants! You may not know, but the average person you meet isn't from Jacksonville. Ask about top barbeque joints, Hole in the wall restaurants... Visit the Tour of Homes (coming up during the holidays), visit the unique neighborhoods: Riverside, Avondale, San Marco, Ortega, Mandarin Road ... Take a ride through the neighborhoods of the North South, East and West sides of town to discover the true Jacksonville! Enjoy your time in Jax, I am gone but still emotionally connected!

yes it is local because all of Jacksonville is Duval county , so yes anybody that's actually a local resident would know this .
