5 things that don’t make sense in Kung Fu Panda 4.
No. 1, Po still enjoyed being the Dragon Warrior, but Shifu forced him to be a Spiritual Leader. This didn’t make sense because it’s not Shifu’s business to control Po’s destiny.
No. 2, If the pig’s house is on top of a cliff, she shouldn’t have let the pandas in. The house would tilt and fell to its death.
No. 3, It didn’t make sense that the Chameleon was able to open the Spirit Realm since no one thought her how to use the Staff of Wisdom.
No. 4, The Chameleon shouldn’t be able to pull Kai from the Spirit Realm since he had already died twice in Kung Fu Panda 3.
And no. 5, If the Chameleon could steal many Kung Fu moves, she should be overpowered. But instead, she was instantly defeated by just a single whack from Po’s Staff.

Well, I bet one of the drafts for this movie did follow a line where the Chameleon resurrected all three of them at the start, and and had many interactions with Po which led them to go down better paths. A timeline where Shen bows to Po isn’t impossible, it’ll just be a hard story to execute. But unfortunately the director didn’t do the right thing and turned the movie into a mess.

There are countless variants of Chinese folklore, each with its own interpretations, giving you the ability to justify practically anything, even Kai's definitive death in the spirit realm. The concept of death beyond death exists in various versions of Chinese folklore influenced by Buddhism. If people enjoy speculating like that, that's fine and enjoyable , but personally, if I have to invent explanations on the spot to justify plot points, I'd simply consider it a failure in storytelling.

That kai one absolutely ruined any possibility of it being a logical plot. KAI is already a spirit warrior who could teleport between realms in the 3rd movie using the power of chi, he was a spirit just like the rest of the villains in the movie, but at the end of the 3rd movie Po is able to kill him in the spirit realm, which is where all masters go after death, so it only goes to show that he is absolutely irretrievable unless there is some other mysticism at work or another 3rd dimension perhaps exists, but it isnt set up, seems like it was cheap sensationalism to bring back the villains, without looking at their individual stories.

Instead of giving the reason "I'm too small" to learn kung fu, they could have made her not talented in kung fu. Also a better reason and backstory for why she wants all the power. I personally wouldn't make her want to conquer all the China. Feels like a random villain and a Shen copy. Maybe, make her want a revenge on someone powerful, from her past, and that would be the reason of stealing kung fu. Since that would make her not all bad, in the final fight, Po would end the fight, by using wise words. Punches and kicks aren't alway a solution like Shifu said. However I would make her way stronger than she was in the movie, so she could give Po actual hard time fighting her

The Chameleon's evil motivation didn't make sense to me. She claims no one wanted to teach her kung fu because she was 'too small'. When she said that the first thing I thought of was she didn't look hard enough or even left the area because Mantis along with a few other Masters is smaller than her, knows Kung Fu and can kick butt. I think if the creators of this movie had talked about that, they would've completely changed the plot.

What do you find so confusing about the third one? The chameleon has unlimited powers (let alone have a scaly skin even after transforming into someone). Maybe she learned how to yield the staff of wisdom because she somehow knew who Master Oogway the Magnificent was from studying his legacy. Also the first one makes sense too because that’s Master Shifu’s job in place of his old master Oogway. And any person who dies still resides in the Spirit Realm, no matter how they died. Lastly, spirits don’t die either, but how can they still interact with physical bodies like mortals can once in the mortal world. That part makes no sense. I guess the Chameleon found a way to someone revive the dead as well with her magic, going back to my first point, plus it’s a fantasy genre too. Another one that makes no sense to me is that she was rejected from learning kung fu because of her size? Now that part makes no sense at all if you compare her to smaller students like mantis and viper. Maybe she only went to training halls in Juniper City but never outside like the Valley of Peace where you could find a decent teacher who didn’t judge you for your height. I can understand why that upset her though. She just needs a better martial arts teacher more accepting of size.
