@@jtee231 Agree - in my case he was insanely jealous of anyone he saw doing 'better' so for instance he visited a friend who lived in a small Georgian mansion in the country and when he came back he just said 'Very impressive!' in a sour voice, but wouldn't say anything else. He also thought everybody else was insanely jealous of him - so for example, he had tennis courts put in at his house and he thought I would envy him, but I don't play tennis so I didn't care - and this seemed to annoy him even more!

Right on! About the jealousy of the narcissist... They tend to get jealous because of good friends you may have that treat you like as if they were family. And, they do what they can to turn your friends against you... Henceforth, they (the Narc) don't appreciate anything you do for them.

I was dealing with someone like this in the workplace. I'm a manager and they were always trying to get me to "dislike" one employee or another by casting doubts and dispersion. It was a nightmare. He finally ended up being exposed and he did it all to himself.

When I got free I wasn't aware of any of this. I wasn't aware what he was capable of, or what I was dealing with. Long story short, I had to be my own attorney in my child custody case. He got my counselor of 10 years on his side to give a false testimony, bought the best lawyer in town from the house I paid the mortgage for the entire 4 years we lived there. He held that house over my head the entire time. How we hated it and didn't want it and it was all cuz of me meet. So he sold it $350,000 for it. For the house I solely paid the mortgage on and I dealt with all the resentment for all that time. Did what he said he always would if I ever left him and did everything he could to take my daughter. It worked. If I knew what he would go to to destroy me, I would have done it more planned out take lesson in advice like this. It's incredibly valuable. More valuable than your desire to escape. These people will stop at nothing to ruin your life. The messed up part? A lot will succeed unless you really know what you're up against.

My mom is the narcissist in my life my birth mom. We talk all the time but she’s scared to see me I’m nervous too. I feel like she’s my soulmate or twin flame. Sometimes it’s very hard with her she abuses me a lot but she’s got good moments wonderful times when she loving to me. I’ll be happy when I can see her in person. I hope it will be ok I don’t know I’m trying to learn about narcissism but I have faith in my mom. Ugh we just have to stop fighting all the time. We always fight I don’t know why? Something missing Once he finally realized it He made a promise to himself to be different. It was easy for him to be different: stay quiet, be shy, be kind, remain humble opposite of the constant yelling and talking and yelling and talking and yelling and talking to no avail He focused on being different on the outside but neglected something else important on the inside and that left him Hollow Hollow Just like they were he broke his promise to himself just like the thousand promises they had broken ehh.. you know what they say though: "apples don't fall far from trees" that's not exactly what they say, but yea. anyways...

I mentioned the clothes she wore to work indicate she does not care are her appearance. Clothes are old, faded, plain. Any normal female may explode on that. She defended and justified, so that indicates appearance not part of her self-esteem, which was obvious. A few weeks later, she showed me new clothes. She was horrible doing a "thing" that all men enjoy in the br. She told me no one ever complained. I provided some suggestion and now she's a champ. However, her whole existence is built on deception. I will never know the truth with even basic things in the delusional world she has created.
