Many of your questions can be answered if you rewatch the movie, for example, the wall only surrounds half of the city, and it is only build underneath the engine structure. You can see some iconic Beijing buildings are not submerged While others are, the same thing happened to shanghai.

1. There is a classic line in The Wandering Earth 1: you can't hack without hardware support. In this movie, there are two faction: wandering earth faction and digital life faction, and it is reasonable to have spies of digital life faction in the space elevator project as an insider to invade the space elevator. 2. This new international organization may still be operating within the framework of the United Nations. And, the film shows a community with a shared future for mankind, not an excellent performance of specific country. If you do not understand this, it is tantamount to not understanding the film, or still brainwashed in Hollywood's American movies. As for why Beijing sank and New York did not, I think there is no need to explain China's infrastructure strength, people give up the surface and entered the underground city. 3. In fact, the Server room anywhere in the world will not have a very high security force. And in sci-fi movies you can always see technicians opening the password lock with a unkown digital tool , doesn't it? Tu Hengyu was released because he was one of the leading researchers in 550W, they need to use 550W to overwrite and restart the Beijing root server, and that dongle is only used to restart, which has nothing to do with Tu Hengyu.There is only one 550W, that is, the later Moss, Yaya has never been uploaded to the 550C, and the computer they hold may only be a 550W access terminal. Most of the 550W computing power is used in dungeon construction, password computing and other places. 4. Even in the movie, it is really puzzling to disconnect the Internet. I think the more reasonable explanation is that Beijing has been abandoned at that time, so the Beijing root server is no longer needed. As for star link and 5G, solar storms will destroy any electronic devices without EM sheilding. So optical fiber is still the best transmission medium. 5. Again, the core of the film is a community with a shared future for mankind, which needs to be fully understood. Governments of all countries unite to implement the wandering Earth Project, not fascism or communism, but the choice of hope. In the film, the army is used to deal with disasters, riots and terrorist attacks rather than invading other countries, this is what our world should be like. Digital life has been banned by legislation, and if you question this, you are undoubtedly asking why the director shoot a film called "the wandering earth" instead of "digital life"?

As a native Chinese who just get out of cinema, I want to explain more about the story here: In addition to the three main plots (The astronaut Liu and his wife's love story, The dad Scientist and his daughter's sad story, and the Chinese leader and other world leaders' conflicts ) there is a fourth hidden plot in the movie. It's one of the best storylines in the film, and it will clear some details that may confuse the audience. There is a precise countdown timer at the start of every scene of the movie, we, the audience, share the same view with a super AI quantum computer called Moss, only from this view can we see what really happened. It all started back in the late 70s, humanity learned that the sun gonna explode in 100 years. Thus, A quantum supercomputer project named 550 series was put on the agenda. the ultimate purpose of this AI system was to preserve human civilization at all costs. It was mining data from the internet and watching human behaviors through cameras all over the world. Soon, it realized that predicting humanity's future requires a human brain to learn from. It began to secretly support the digital life project to try to get a real human brain for its further iteration. China's leading scientist, Ma Zhao for some reason realized the danger of this AI, yet consider the moving mountain project still relies on its computing power. He decided to shut down the digital life project to prevent this AI from going too far. One plan failed another plan comes, the AI soon located another perfect target, Ya Ya, the daughter of digital life researcher Tu Hengyu. With his plan carried on. he successfully gets a copy of Yaya's Mind. At this moment, 550A finally has the power to simulate human decisions, it now has the power to predict the future within a few minutes. The leading scientist Ma Zhao of course refused to move Yaya's copy to a more advanced 550 type to improve its abilities. The time comes to the year 2044, There were three type 550C in the world. the type 550C on earth reached the same conclusion as 550A that it needs a human mind for further iteration. With more advanced hardware, this type 550C was able to launch a full drone attack on the space elevator with the digital life rebels organized through the internet. The attack was successful and the ark space station was taken down. At the same time, Tu Hengyu began to sabotage the engine test on the moon(turn off the solar wind warning system, etc) in the hope for blackmail Mazhao into letting Yaya live out her life in the future 550 series. Maozhao, on the other hand, knows it was the 550C on the earth that started the space elevator attack, if they use the 550C type on the moon there would be no chance for them to succeed. So he played as Tu's wish and release the safety bucket on the type 550C to let it burn. At the same time, Mazhao gave Tu a digital copy of Tu himself hoping that if Tu successfully uploaded yaya to the 550series. Tu's love for his daughter will teach the 550 series what it means to be human. A Human civilization without humans is not a civilization. At the same time, on earth, the Chinese leader Zhou started to get mysterious messages, he seems confident that the China moon mission will be a success. 14 years late, 2058, the 550 series finally reached its prime- 550W. It has the power to Coordinate automatic Fusion engine constructions across the globe, clearly way more powerful than the 550A. With the acquiescence of Mazhao, Tu Hengyu successfully uploaded yaya to the 550W. it took only 1.7s (same as the time for light to travel between the moon and earth) for 550W to iterate itself into its final form- Moss, who now can see a future 70 years from now. Moss immediately saw the doomed future of human civilization(Very possibly the tragic end of the wondering earth novel ) and reached the conclusion that the only way to save human civilization is to eliminate the human factor. Without hesitation, Moss started to overload himself with Yaya causing massive engine failure and leading to the moon-earth crisis. But Moss does not know Mazhao's plan back in 2044 has already put an unknown variable Tu Hengyu into his future. Messages containing the number of nuclear warheads each country possessed were sent to all the world leaders. This might as well be a test from the future to see if humans can stop hating each and work together again. The Chinese leader Zhou clearly knows more. he also strongly believes the Beijing root server will be successfully rebooted even though the monitor clearly showed all the BEIJING squad had died. At last, we saw Tu Hengyu and Ya Ya helping restart the Beijing root server in the virtual world, but from what I can tell, they no longer share the same time-lapse as other characters do. Finally, there is a knock on the door, and the film ends. definitely more to expect from the third film of the series.

Agree with most of it, thanks! But one point I disagree: I think Zhou (the Chinese leader) is aware that AI is orchestrating all those “coincidences”, but I don’t think he insist on igniting because he have faith that MOSS will upload the data or it is benign or other shit. Nah. For digital life like YaYa the password should be transferred in milliseconds, why the upload still wasn’t complete until the last countdown second? My theory is that MOSS delayed the message. I think Zhou insist on igniting on time regardless of completion rate is because he is using mutual destruction as a leverage point with MOSS: whatever you’ve scheming, ignite the Beijing engine on time, or I’ll push the button and earth tears and computer and human race will die together
@@arles1124 Yeah. The 550/Moss/Yi Yi hidden arc is very important, not sure if they will bring it to surface in the 3rd movie. There is a YT video made a detail explanation(guessing) of the AI arc but it is in Chinese.

When crisis comes, not a single hero (spiderman, superman, captain) can save the world, but heros from all countries must work or sacrifice together to save the human civilization. From this point, this movie beat all those holywood super hero tricks.

The Digital life Project vs Moving Mountain Project is an analogy of West vs East. Historically, when faced with problems at home, western cultures resort to escape to solve their problems. The colonization of New World, Exodus, Noah's Ark comes into mind. While in China, it was always mega projects by the puny humans to resolve crisis instead of running away, hydro projects like Yu the Great's dam, Grand canal, Dujiangyan, defense like Great wall, comes into mind. At the end of the movie, while Moving Mountain Project was prioritized, The Digital life Project also remains as there are values that worth keeping. People also argue that it is easier to just build spaceships and abandon the planet, but what about the resources of the Earth? not just material value, but also the sentimental value of the planet. It's worth the extra effort.
@matthew2199 Жыл бұрын
This is a really bad interpretation. The western cultures in the film pushed the digital life project. The moving mountain/wandering earth project is done in the context of Chinese always being loyal to their home. That's why they want to bring earth with them instead of trying to colonize another planet through a space ship.

On 4, the film mentioned that the engines' purpose-built network was not yet ready. As such, any connection (wired or wireless) that networks the engines would need to traverse a backbone network, which is the infrastructure that enables said communications. What doesn't make sense to me is why they'd "turn off" the internet, as opposed to disconnecting high-risk assets.

On 3, the first upload was to an unnetworked instance of 550W. The second upload was through a device connected with the 550W that controlled all the engines. The pilot space station at the end also had an instance of 550W. I don't think the film mentioned exactly how many instances of 550W there were. Even if there was only one 550W, based on today's technology, multiple simulations or multiple instances of the same software would naturally be logically separated.

I think u left before the end of th film. and for a english speaking it is really hard to understand all the details, even I as a chinese, still cant say I understand 100% after watch it twice. Hope u can watch it again online at future. about question, i just trying to answer: 1) If u watch the end, u would know that MOSS hack all the project. And MOSS is a digital life base on 550w. It is much stronger than human about computer. More spoilers are still more fun to discover by yourself. 2) it is not a question I think...they can put it in where they want. The flood was caused by the moon and the project.As the Moon is pushed away from Earth, changes in gravity cause changes in the tides. At the same time, the earth stopped its rotation under the action of the engine, so the disaster situation in the coastal areas of the world must be different. New York is not completely submerged, Beijing is mostly submerged, reasonable.Also, I hope that realistic political issues and tendencies will not be brought into this kind of movie where all mankind cooperates. This is actually very ironic. 3)There are already good answers in the comments, so I won't repeat them. 4)I'm sure this question is explained in the movie, but since the amount of information in this movie is too large, I don't remember it all. In the movie, the Internet was shut down in response to global social changes and cyber attacks. At the same time, most of the satellites were destroyed due to lunar debris. Therefore, people need to manually restart the Internet, and these three places are also consistent with the root server locations of ipv6 in reality. 5)this question I really dont like. This question is entirely based on your current ideology. But in the face of the catastrophe of the destruction of the earth, our ideology may be completely different. Furthermore, it is hard to say whether ideology is right or wrong, only whether you like it or not. When you emphasize personal choices instead of thinking more about the survival of human beings, isn't it a kind of ideological output that many people hate? This movie is indeed very unfriendly to non-native Chinese speakers. The amount of information it gives is too huge, so that it is too difficult to understand the details in the movie. However, the film has a scientific advisory team. They are all the best scientists in China, so most of the details can stand scrutiny. In the end, I think the biggest expectation conveyed by the film is to let go of the stereotypes between different groups and solve common problems. But sadly, even an objective analysis of the film is tainted by these less important ideologies. The biggest sci-fi feature of this movie may be that all human can really let their prejudices go.😮💨

I am not sure it's worth re-uploading the video again ALSO Seems there are a lot of you that disagree with my points - that's fine! I really do welcome your feedback below. I still stick by the comment about the "internet" section - while I agree the solar flare would have damaged long-distance communication, the fact was the movie was still acting like it hadnt happened (ie mobile technology, comms between bases and space etc)

Head Quarters Section: Keep in mind, the UEG is a global organization and not a Chinese one(The wandering eath project is Chinese lead, but there is many other projects competing at the same time and the wandering earth project only got more resources after the engine test fire happened and it gained more support than the digital life project ), whereas the US and its allies are more dominant in the real world and just like the UN the UEG headquarters are in New York probably due to the fact that well, western nations demanded so. Internet Section: As it is mentioned in the movie, there was a special network designed for all earth engines, but they were still in construction along with the other 1/3 of the earth engines. I would imagine they had to reboot the internet because a special protocol is used to control the eath engines and the current mobile tech and long-range com is not compatible with the protocol due to security designs. Whereas the initial earth engines were built with the intention of using the internet as a way of control since they were designed before the attacks in which these designs probably are built into the modern earth engines as a backup in case the special network fails, which is why they had to disable the root server so that hacks couldn't control. the earth engine remotely.

first of all, even without considering the source of the hack was actually from moss, the hacking operation succeeded doesn't mean it was "easy". it was a coordinate attack along with the personnel identity theft job completed. it's not like they only started hacking on the first days when the space elevator project started. so if you pretend the hack was done by human, they would try hacking the system while waiting for their other job to complete first, then start actually tampering the whole system. You never know how much effort they spent on hacking the system. You only know that they succeeded at the end. it may already take several years for them to hack the system, but they wouldn't commence the attack without other personnels are in the right positions. but at the end of the film, it revealed that the hack was actually done by moss (its predecessor), so it was indeed "easy" but with a good reason. it should be easy considering how powerful moss (even it's only moss's predecessor) is.

I do want to mention one thing... mobile network are not really interconnected network, they don't have their own backbone, this is why claims that huawei can hack and spy on people make no sense, because they don't build an interconnected backbone at all, the mobile network only serve a local area, to connect to the rest of the world, the telecom provider would connect it to a gateway which usually run off the internet or their own inhouse copper backbone(if you are still in 3rd world country like australia, sorry can't resist).

As a Chinese speaker the emotional message of the movie was very touching, and of course the effects are amazing, but a lot of the plot points make absolutely no sense from a scientific perspective. I'm not an expert on space or rockets, but even I know that there's no feasible way in which 3 rocket engines exploding would be enough to make the moon fall, let alone that quickly. How exactly do those explosions delete all of the moon's potential and kinetic energy and cause it to fall to earth? I also don't understand why it was necessary to get rid of the moon in the first place. If we moved the Earth, because the moon is gravitationally bound to it, it would just follow along. The whole reactivating the Internet subplot was also really confusing; why was it even off in the first place? What happened to satellite communications?

your political question is interesting, because the west always argue they are a "democracy". to that an indian professor famously said "the west internalise democracy but rule the rest of the world like a dictatorship, the east may internalise control, yet are the one who really internationalising democracy". this may sound confusing, but what it is saying is Asia actually build rules and stick to them better then the west does. for example, despite WTO being a western creation, it is US that veto it appointment and handicap the organisation despite it being a body build with international consensus. that while Japan and China appears to be at odd with each other, they don't even blink an eye when they sign RCEP that turn their countries into a single trading bloc while UK literally left the EU for no reason. I know these are hard to listen to for the western audience, but imagine you are me, an asian who doesn't live in Japan, China or US. who is in talk with the US to be part of the TPP and have sign it into law. then US just change a president, and suddenly our agreement with the US is toliet paper. while RCEP which has been bashed by the west, end up be rectify and put into law.... how will you feel? the west INTERNALISE democracy so much, that they don't GIVE A DAMN to how the rest of us feel or how their policy impact the rest of the world... so if you ask me, why do world government like UN since to be useless... it because the west don't practise democracy internationally... that's the hard truth. so the failure of world government isn't because world government can't work. it because of the localization of power to the detertriment to humanity. you can't solve climate change if you have a war between Russia and NATO. Germany is now burning coal again. internalising democracy don't work, because people are too selfish. and if you ask how can we make it work globally if we can't even do it at home? simple, if we don't, we die as a species. we will lose population all the way, until we are small enough to make it work... Thanos was right. =) and the sooner we realise this, the more people we can save...

Sorry, I have to try to answer it in a messed-up order, but this will make more sense. Questions 1,3, can be answered in the mid-credit scene. Question 4, I rewatched the movie today, and I noticed a line that said the dedicated network for all the engines is still under construction. Maybe they abandoned the old network after it had been flooded, and never thought one day they will have to start it again and continue their work on hand. Question 5, I know you guys never liked government control, of any kind. But I think even if 91% of Americans, in the movie, at some point, support digital life project, that's still not a choice of hope, not even a choice to survive. This part shows the conflict while common folks want to "live their life" while a responsible government thinks about the survival of human beings. Take covid, for example, it's those who choose not to wear masks and refused to stay at home made things worse, and worse. The moving mountain project is trying to make everyone survive, but it still got so many protestors, imagine how many protestors would Noah's ark got while it only brings a few during the Apocalypse. He certainly didn't give in to the "percentage". Question 2. Putting it in New York and giving an "unfriendly" country more positive images shows the Globalism that the movie wants to express. To survive, conflicts between, countries, races, and parties, no longer matter. Upgrading UN to UEG seems the fastest way at that time. So the question is almost like, " Why don't put the Earth engines more friendly to their terms?" As for why Zhou demands the ignition so strongly, you have to combine the mid-credit scene and the answer to question 5. In one scene he stared at the camera as no one else did, also, he used the same terms " past, present, future" like moss said in the mid-credit scene. They are the evidence of he somehow relates to, knows about, or has communicated with MOSS before. They might have some kind of agreement. I think MOSS is testing humans by "destroying" them, learning to cooperate, or extinct. As for the part of the answer to question 5, ignition by the end of the countdown is a choice of hope, still, a chance to survive, while giving up is a choice of despair, leading to the certain death of all, the last three days are as vain as the digital life project.

I don't know if the version of the north American region has a tail section, but in the final part of the film, moss has acknowledged that the ark project destruction of 2044 is its masterpiece and has been warned before. So hackers are not humans, but artificial intelligence. If you have to ask why artificial intelligence does that. In the original book, the artificial intelligence world has no love and hate, nor is it born or dead, and there is no good, ugly, good and bad value judgment between good and bad. It is the superposition of the quantum state, which is the existence of multidimensional. Humans can't understand artificial intelligence, just as your pet can't understand the way you do it.

I agree with your thoughts on restarting the internet. Maybe we need more computer experts rather than physicists. A specialized communication system for planetary engines would make more sense. However, I'm wondering why the security measures are lacking. My guess is that it's because the interview with Tu was set up on short notice, and the 550W device in use may just be a terminal, which doesn't have a high level of protection. Unless it's an insider, the chance of someone hacking into the 550W is very low. In that era, most of the GDP was devoted to building engines, and there may have been serious labor and food shortages. Some of the decisions made may have been a last resort and not the best course of action.

And Tu didn't upload himself when he drowns, he uploads a copy of his phyche (cyberpunk term) from long time ago, which was given to him by Ma a bit earlier. That is why the younger Tu looks confused when he meets Yaya inside of 550W, and Yaya have to repeat Tu's last message to remind him what he supposed to do.
Warning! Don't read my comments if you haven't watched the movie yet! If I want to answer these 5 things you questioning, I have going to go very deep part of this movie. 1. Why the elevator project that easy to be hacked? Because of the MOSS. Most of the crises humans are facing in this movie are caused by MOSS directing. If you watched the movie, you might remember the Chinese governor: Since 1987, someone keeps sending data images to all the government to predict all the crises are getting more and more accurate. MOSS did it, or we can say AI did it. Why? Chinese philosophy:Suffering is living, happiness is death. That's the reason why Moss create those crisises but also helps humans survive. 2. Why Earth engines need to be controlled by internet? Because the dedicated network is unfinished yet (dialogues introduced in the movie). Why not use wireless control(satellite)? I think you totally forgot what crisis they are facing and how strong the solar wind shows on moon. Only idiots will trust wireless control in that condition. 3. Why UEG still has been set in New York? Good Question, I think the mean reason is most of resources are used on the wandering earth project, and nobody cares to build a new building for UEG:/ Also letting UEG use the UN building will let audiences feel more real. 4. Why Tu can so easily hack into the 550W control room? Firstly, where is the 550W Super Computer? It is in the astronaut selection interview centre, not in a top-level lab. Then we can understand that the security level for an examination centre will not that high. 5. Why did TU let YaYa remember the security key but not just simply insert the key? Do you remember when the sea water run into the control room, the first thing Tu did is covering the computer with something like cling film to prove water. So, he lost the chance to insert the key bar. Why does TU appear in a digital world? Do you remember when TU and MA were on the moon, Ma gave Tu a digital copy of himself and let him decide to keep it or destroy it? At the last minute, He uploaded both his and Yaya's digital copy. That's also the reason why Tu said to Yaya: How you've grown! Because he is just a digital copy in the early year and also he looks much younger. 6. Why needs government lead everything? Lol, Liberty doesn't help humans survive WWI, WWII and Cold War. Facing an extinction crisis without government leading just like sailing in storm without captain and pilot.
@skylerlim8561 Жыл бұрын
BTW, Why Zhou insist to pull the trigger to start the engines? Because he awarded what MOSS did and why, he knows MOSS will help human to survive this. Why TU input the security key so slow? Come on, just a common montage using.

1. there is no perfect defense system in cyber security. We now know the 550w computer seems to have certain kind of time-travel capability(quantum physics huh ; ) ). Meanwhile it is the most powerful computer in the world, a self-aware AI, and an insidious conspirators. Thus, cracking the security built by its proceeder 550c is a breeze for it.

The answer for the question 3. For AI card. It also can be answered by: There is a classic line in The Wandering Earth 1: you can't hack without hardware support. In the real world study. Science have discusse how to become digital life: one believe you need the map for your brain. I believe the card is the hardware map for the person' brain, for YaYa or Tu. The hardware card for Tu is latest copy before he left the digital life institute. And Tu never get the new vision hardware card for himself even with his knowledge and equipment.
@AsianFilmFans Жыл бұрын
That explains why he is a little confused when he first appears in Yaya's digital world and doesn't know the code! I still find the code input scene annoying - they are AI - it should be instant!! haha
@zyge Жыл бұрын
@@AsianFilmFans Also, in the Chinese KZbin - bilibili. It have more interesting discussion. The MOSS and 550 series quantum computer are separated. The MOSS is the computer algorithm (AI) with it hard cord to make sure the human survival. (But how to define human is loose.) It should already exist before 550 series quantum computer, after the scientist confirm the crisis. The different 550 series quantum computer is more computing resources. This is why AI hardware card need be plug into. The YaYa lifespan increase from 2 minutes to 70 years. After comedown, they will have new 5 years old YaYa.

@AsianFilmFans for example,the billions of hacking attack not billions of successful hacking. They are different. That's why UNG still complete their missions and projects. For Tu hengyu' daughter mind upload so easy, 1st Tu hengyu take core position at the Moon project, he has the high authority. 2nd, is the parts of the Moss plan that his daughters upload. Actually, for most of your questions, you can find answers in the movies. Maybe you can go to the cinema and watch again😉

If Andy Lau would not turn back again and again . And keep his eyes on the road. And not make car accident. Atleast one hour movie could be saved. Also long tortorous scenes of personnel manually detonating nuclear weapons would not happen. Every body would have a happy solution

Moss was behind the accident for sure, even Tu's family survived, in order to push someone upload their data, it would find some other victims.

1.Because the hackers could be either the top scientists that were in charge of Digital Life Project and invented 550 series, or 550 itself, how hard can it be to hack into your own make. 2.Because UEG is not an entirely new organization, it is the 2.0ver of UN itself. 3.As I said, Tu and many other rebels created the whole Digi Life Project/550 series AI from the ground up, they know exactly how it works, very likely about security details too. On the other hand, it might not be as easy as it seems to break into the facility at all, but wouldn't it be kinda unnecessary to show all the details of how Tu managed to do so? Think about it, when it comes to nuke crisis in Hollywood, it's always just a matter of pressing a key to stop the nuke, you don't need to know the details. 4.Cables and wires are always more stable and safer than Wifi, especially when our sun keeps causing trouble. (OK I'm not even close to being an IT professional, this is just my guess that might make sense) 5.In my mind this is not about dictation or democracy or left wing or right wing, this is about all mankind working together to actually achieve something rather than fighting aginst each other inside and outside of UN, like you said yourself. I admit some scenes in this film do seem political or governmental, more or less, but that doesn't mean you have to see it this way, cuz while those scenes are there, there are definitely more scenes, more critical ones, indicating that it's about humanity, not politics.
@iqbang9236 Жыл бұрын
Why is it so easy to hack? Well, have you heard the saying that "fortresses are easiest to breach from the inside"? When the world is divided into two major views on how to live, when those views become an ideology, people are willing to die for it. After all, technology is developed by humans.
@xinli279 Жыл бұрын
I believe some of your questions will be answered in the next movie. Especially the hacker thing.
@xinli279 Жыл бұрын
Addition to hacker attacks. Beside the attack on space elevator. I believe they are many more potential cyber attackers. 1. The failed warning system on moon. It caused the destruction of 550C, which suppose to active moon engine. 2. The Tu family’s car accident, which cause the death of Tu’s wife and Yaya. 3. The interview of WuJing’s character, which led Tu decided to upload Yaya to 550C. 4. The moon collusions crisis. Although this happened mins after Yaya’s upload, but I don’t think this was her doing, otherwise it will make no sense. 5. The failed security system in Beijing root server centre, and suddenly closed door. Which cause the death of Tu’s coworker and led Tu upload him and Yaya into root server. I believe they are more, this is what I can think of for now.

One more thing, the details of nuclear weapons. According to the movie, this kind of information are not shared between countries, and be aware there are 33 countries have nukes. More than we generally believed.

Because of some positive reception from Chinese viewers I expected this to be a good film. It's actually worse than the first one aside from special effects. The voice dubbing is worse. The subtitles were done by an amateur with no spell check. The story beats don't understand build up and pay off. The entire movie could have been a lead up to the space elevator disaster. Build relationships and meaning. Use the new Chinese graphical prowess to make a massive elevator a spectacle. I understand being proud of your own country finally being able to make a movie that looks like a blockbuster, but that concept is still from 20 years ago in Hollywood. Also, the most science fiction thing about this movie is the idea that Russia has made it outside their own farm. 2.5/5

These 5 things don't bother me much. I really enjoyed this movie, will see it again this weekend. However 1. the pro Russia part confuses me , why? are we that tight with Russia ?. 2.Dense subtitled audiovisual materials that my eyes can barely catch up ( i'm Chinese).3.Tendency of nationalism and patriotism, does the actual book by liu also portrays this? I've only read The Three body trilogy and his world view is a lightyear wider than this. For a greater cultural output, might need to tone it down a bit to attract winder audience 4. Repeated montage scenes in the third act which could have been trimmed for a shorter run time.
@AsianFilmFans Жыл бұрын
The subtitles had their moments of frustration - substituting "freak" for the use of "fuck", the incorrect line with the Indian doctor (which was also incorrect in the trailer, we fixed it in the version we uploaded up) I didnt think that the nationalism was that bad though - only one "CCP" reference that I can remember

I don't like this movie for many reasons, and yes, it doesn't make any sense. 1) Overhype. The whole movie is too dark and gray. Come on, this is a big budget movie and we can't even have a decent picture? Sorry, it isn't hollywood standard yet in pictures. 2) You can't really see the south pole from the Moon and I doubt that you can even see the Earth from the Moon, since that is the dark side of the earth. 3) Wu Jing is pretending to be poor and selling his houses again. 4) Too much Chinese imperialism and ego. In hollywood movies, the bad and good guys are usually from the same country. This one seems to portray all Chinese as good. 5) China seems all too willing to sacrifice its population and the world population. It seems China decision to make? China isn't even a superpower. 6) In the first place, the story doesn't make any sense. Without green plants, there are no oxygen. Without the earth to spin, there are no atmosphere. I don't know how anyone is gonna survive in the first place. If the movie don't attack the other countries, it will be better.

When a science fiction film needs to be argued about the rationality of every detail, it is already more than most films. No one talks about this level of rationality in a Marvel movie or a DC movie.
