Thank you for an informative video .. I would like to summarize for future reference .. 1- Suppliers who participated in Tradeshow ( Longterm history and quality products ) 2- Avoid pictures with models ( they could sue ) 3- Check who you're working with ; a MANUFACTURER (BEST), a trade company or a wholesaler 4- Recapping agreements (ask specific questions with detailed specs ) 5- Prioritize products that have multiple manufacturers ( make sure to avoid those likely to go out of business )

This is just superb, I've been looking for "can i buy wholesale without a business?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Lanreenan Foremost Leverage - (do a google search ) ? It is an awesome exclusive product for discovering how to find luxury or designer goods at wholesale or lower prices minus the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.

Kareem Sanders I just used Shopify & Oberlo shopping from AliExpress & printify. So far it’s going really well. I’m doing free shipping for US & Free international shipping on orders over $25. I’m advertising on Facebook groups & using Facebook ads. I still have some things to work on like my descriptions. I started updating them but I haven’t finished.

Gobblarr I’m drop shipping so I don’t have stock on hand that I will have to price cut. My prices are fairly competitive with amazon too. I put a lot of items in my store that you cannot find at your local pet store & I compare with amazon pricing before adding it to my store. I also offer custom or personalized bunny items which makes my store unique.

Many times the misunderstanding is not only the language. Culture is also a part of it. It is not considered "Polite" or "Acceptable" to question authority and (like it or not) as a "Buyer" you are not an authority figure and will command a respect that means the sales reps will NOT question you or tell you information that you may have forgotten to ask about (No matter how simple or obviously important that information is). STATISTICALLY speaking, most Chinese company representatives I worked with tend to do ONLY the work they are asked to do. When I get a supplier who gives several pieces of information that I did not ask for, I STICK WITH THEM LONGER!!! FYI> I lived in Taiwan for two years and have been dropping in and out of China to source components for about 10 years. Be careful with TRANSLATE programs because they generally do not take into account the CULTURAL differences and can not translate SLANG. (english slang or Chinese slang) I suggest that when you re read your correspondence to them, you reduce the number of words as much as possible. It may feel a little condescending, but Chinese speakers do use their language in a more direct and simple way than American English.
@garicrewsen11285 жыл бұрын
So THIS is why, imo, the CC translation of [pick any language] to English (in the KZbin screen) is so atrocious!? You'd think they'd have their hallowed AI taking care of slang and cultural differences between the languages. Thanks for posting your comment. Seemingly little tips like yours are worth pounds and pounds of gold. Cheers!

Do you mean as a buyer ' you are authority figure'. Since you completed the statement with : 'you will command lots of reapect'. Hence the' Not' in the statement is a bit confusing for me. Kindly clarify. Thanks

As always, you have provided useful information. I'm having trouble getting started and so far have only lost money. I lost money on Ebay because I didn't realize how much they charged to keep relisting. (My mistake) . I have also ordered 3 sample products from Alibaba and although each sample only cost a few dollars, the cost of the product and shipping was about $45.00 each. Only one of the products was worth trying to resale. So, working of a budget I'm being very cautions ! And just as a side note, I think you would be a perfect fit as a Bond girl ! Have a great day.

Hey Sarah. Another great video as always. I buy phone cases from several suppliers directly and I find the level of English grammar to vary somewhat. Without sounding patronizing or condescending, I tend not to elaborate with my queries and thus I use broken English. I know that English is taught as a second language now in China and in all fairness my conversations are very good with the agents, however it doesn't hurt not to roll off on some grammar mission lol. Ask your question clearly and to the point and if the agent doesn't understand fully, then re-word your query more directly, but always get a reply from them to say that they understand, so that you can come back to the conversation at a later date if you're using Skype. (lol some Chinese agents have spoken with better grammar then me sometimes!) All the best guys :)

Love how Sarah gave a great picture of not being fair to Chinese manufacturers. I something similar to someone just the other day when they stated about not trusting certain medical professionals. I also thought it extremely unfair and explained to the person why it was not fair to state what they did. It all boils down to us to educate ourselves first before we can pass judgement. In the case of a manufacturing product request samples first, in a case of health advice or something similar, turn to forums and other people that know and understand about a condition for advice. Just like would you consult your bank manager for investment advice if they were not an Independent Financial Advisor, or a Cardologist for advice about Scoliosis.

Thanks for this. All info is still current and pertinent, and this video is a great piece of advice and, even though am a n0ob to the dropship business, I highly recommend this video as what she covers is the same a year later. -Unfortunately, following the E-Book link, did not produce a free download as I hit a pay wall (you can link and find out what's up yourselves, not gonna knock anyone's market plan; I don't have the experience or savvy to) and that always bums me out.- But the video is gold, especially for anyone new to 'the business'. Cheers! *EDIT: so check it out, I was hasty in my words and thoughts about the E-book/paywall thing. A download link from Wholesale Ted, for the FREE E-book arrived in my email just after I finished Sarah's video on the 7 mistakes teenage Sarah made in her new business (which is also pure gold, and at least for me, linked pic-in-pic at the end of the above video) and had it saved to Google Drive in less than 30 seconds after following the email link. My bad. GG Sarah.

The only thing I would add to this is that you need to check the quality and safety laws of your supply too country. ie. kids toys need to be complaint with health and safety laws. Australian laws are quite strict compared to china and this could get a person into quite a lot of business troubles, so never neglect your legal responsibilities. Sourcing locally is usually the best option since you can know the quality beforehand. With Chinese companies, you are rolling the dice.
@WholesaleTed4 жыл бұрын
How many common goods are produced locally? Very few. In Western countries, our manufacturing is focused mostly on high level goods, and so sourcing locally isn't an option. If you are sourcing common good locally, oftentimes they were originally imported from China and you are buying from a wholesaler!
@rrdevries1004 жыл бұрын
The main problems I've noticed with Chinese goods is either the quality of the materials (especially plastics) and the tolerances, usually off by a few microns. Initially no one will notice but it greatly affects the durability over time. Granted, no one will do research on an item that costs a few bucks but no one wants to be stuck with bad product either.

I attend the Music Trade Show in Frankfurt, Germany often and I've encountered many Chinese manufacturers of saxophones. Most are qualitative very good, but I've met one saxophone model that was sooooo horrible, it should have been embarrassing to take it to a trade show. Just for the info, I've met an American company once with a semi-german name that had produced a pretty awful sax as well. Anyway, great stuff!

One question: what about quality issues in regards to health? For example the water bottles you were mentioning, how can you make sure that the material does not contain any hazardous materials? As China does not care about copyright infringement, they also can get away with forking any certificates you might want to see. And just by looking at the bottle you would not know. Aside from the more implications and without being a lawyer, I am pretty sure you are legally liable for what you sell. Specially in a country like the USA, that likes to sue. What is ur take on that?

Hi Sarah! Great video 🤟 My boyfriend tends to think the reason why the product prices are inexpensive because the Chinese force children to make these products. Is this true?
@WholesaleTed6 жыл бұрын
It's true that they don't have anywhere near the same workers rights as the USA but the myth that its child labour is that, a myth. China has massively cleaned up its act and is working to improve the conditions, which is why prices have gone up over time. A huge part of why they are so cheap is also down to the fact that they have enormous economies of scale, and there are a lot of government factors in play that subsidise things. The shipping for Aliexpress is the price it is because governments are subsidising it, and that won't change anytime soon. Its complicated. If you are concerned you can always research the manufacturer and check if their practices are ethical.

I have been following your channel and your channel inspired me to start my shopify store. I have two questions: I'm in the car niche and there are some products that I am not sure violate the copyright laws. For example, there is an LED light that projects the car brand's logo (such as Nissan, Honda etc.) when you open the door. I noticed the supplier has not used any photos containing the brand names, but that's the functionality. 1- If I just mention "NISSAN Logo LED" or something similar but don't post a photo with the NISSAN logo being projected but something generic (such as the "LOGO" being projected as the supplier did), would that be a violation? 2- Additionally, there are certain products that fit certain vehicles (Honda Accord for example). If I list them and the model it fits along with images of Honda Accord for example with the product installed, would that be a violation? Thanks
