I would add the walk over toward pirates cove or the Avila Ridge trail. But those might better suit a video of things to do in Avila Beach even though some that stuff is Pismo/Shell Beach.

This is a very nice overview of some of the Central Coast attractions. I've taken one of the kayak trips and highly recommend the kayak tours. I've also been at that high point you showed! And I walked the Preserve path. And Dinosaur caves is really nice with some small beaches that often have so few people it seems one has a private beach all to oneself!

Is the pier open to the public? What about the beach? We are planning on taking a vacation next week to pismo and we wanted to enjoy the beach and hang out on the sand with our canopy.

As far as I know the pier is open. I was at the beach last week and it was definitely open. Lot's of people out enjoying the beautiful weather.

Do you recommend renting an ATV for the sand dunes? I have a 16 and 13 year old. Looking for some fun activities for them. Great Video! We are planning a trip there in 3 weeks.

You know...I'm not sure exactly. But best bet is to get out there at the lowest time. You'll still have hours of time.
