Also visit the Distillery District for the Christmas Market, starting in late November to December 24th. It is the most visited Christmas Market in the city.

Ferries were able to cross the lake this winter? I saw just how iced over it was almost to the point where we could just skate over.

Yup, they continue to run throughout the winter (though only the Ferry to Wards Island). Parts of the lake were quite frozen over this year, but the channel between the Islands and the mainland were still passable thanks to ice breakers that patrolled the water.

Usually it's around the freezing mark but often dips well below freezing for periods at a time. Pack very warm clothing!

@@throwaway-bo7fg very seldom. Yes, in January 2018 the temps went down to -40s C but this is very unusual - remember climate change and unusual weather patterns happen now almost everywhere - from very hot to very cold, etc.
