I own 5 motorcycles and all have a washer on the oil drain bolt. If you follow the User's Manuals, it is recommended to change this washer since it is a "crush" washer that is designed to deform under torque from the oil filler nut. This washer deformation actually puts minuscule cracks into the washer - these cracks get larger with repeated use - eventually an old, reused crush washer can cause oil leakage. Cool bike.
