@@withings thanks for responding Rudy, but I just want to make sure that if I order the HR Steel it will definitely have the timer, and I'm a bit unsure of what "..available for new watch installations" means exactly. it sounds like something has to be independently installed after purchase or something. And the "latest firmware supports a timer" is also a bit ambiguous; does it actually have the timer or is it just capable of supporting one? and lastly, how do I make sure the unit I order has this latest firmware update?

@@DublinLotfi I understand. So to answer clearly: the timer is now available to all devices, past, present and future, via the firmware update 🙂 If you order now, when you first sync your watch to the app, it will suggest to update it to the latest firmware automatically. -Rudy

Love my scanwatch 42mm, it's so comfy cannot feel it's even on my arm. Step tracking is very accurate, used to be terrible on the sport hr. Love the features and look, great it uses decent glass this time also. Certainly more luxurious than the sport hr. I had the sport hr, and the white on, got the black in the scanwatch as it hides that window and blends better with the watch. It's better in everyway than the sport hr

Are the watch's hands visible in the dark? How well does the alarm work? Does it vibrate until you turn it off? I've been looking for a few days and haven't been able to find an answer anywhere yet.

The watch hands are not visible in the dark, but you can click the button and see the time on the small screen instead. And I am sorry but I never used the alarm and I’ve sold the watch now, which I have a video about too 😅

Hey, nice video. What is the function of the mini watch face within the watch face? Where the smallest hand is at 100 in your video?

Thanks. The mini watch face shows the percentage of my daily step goal. But it doesn’t stop at 100, if you go over your goal, it will keep rolling for example 120% and more.

Thanks for helpful review and updates. Considering buying 38mm for my fiancé. Question. My fiancé is quite petit and has small wrists. Any problems with bands and small waisted people? Also. Do you think this watch is durable enough for muddy environments like muddier races or things like hard work. My fiancé has rice fields and we plant and pick so hands get very wet. My Tag Connected is fine in such environs but I’m curious about the withings. Sapphire crystal is quite durable but is the case ok for swimming or a lot of submersion?

I would be very surprised if they ever fix that because for this to work they would have to have an internal GPS or something that would track if you actually move. Otherwise, there is no way a sensor in this watch can tell if you're just moving your hand or actually walking. Maybe tracking if you're sitting or standing but idk. That might not work 100 %. I'm sure this problem occurs with all smart or hybrid watch.

@@stepanberan4641 exactly the case. I have been wearing Fitbit Charge 3 for the past three years until recently it died on me without warning. The step counter acts the same way with Fitbit smartwatches: I am sitting down and suddenly completing 10k steps goal. So as you say, I guess it's not really possible to count the steps with perfect accuracy without gps.

You’re welcome! Do you mean with notifications from different apps, for example text messages?

The watch will vibrate as long as you are within the specified max distance from the phone. It uses a Bluetooth connection but range depends on things like wall's ect and type of Bluetooth used ie 5.0 or 5.2. I've found I can easily be up to 50 feet away not obstructed or anywhere in the house and notifications will vibrate just fine. Apart from that I honestly don't see a need for it to be better then that in everyday life. Hope that helps.

Yes, you can allow notifications for texts, calls, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and many more. You need to keep Bluetooth switched on on your phone for these to work.

Hi, the notification stays on for a few seconds and then disappears - there is no way to see it again on the watch.

Hello, I would definitely recommmend. After months of use I don’t even need to activate the exercise mode and the watch knows when I’m playing tennis or cycling! The ECG works fine, but I don’t wear my watch to bed so I can’t comment on the accuracy of sleep monitoring.

@@Funsaturated it depends what is your goal?If you want a watch that has that classic look,then yes.If you need or are interested in using their ECG function then again yes.If you want it for fitness then I can't comment much as I have done only handful of runs ,but pretty much spot on the watch detected the length of the run and pace.There are times (quite a few actually) when the watch detected me cycling while I was driving, maybe I drive too slow.I can honestly say it is not perfect,but it can easily go over month on single charge,if you don't play with it too much.So this aspect alone for me is the major factor that I have chosen Withings,another is the ECG and other validated health monitoring functions.So we can say that I am satisfied user after 4 months.

@@barcaknizni_fanaticka1178 you need to enable them in your Scanwatch app. And enable ‘message previews on notifications’ for WhatsApp on your smartphone. And the only way the notifications will work is when Bluetooth is switched on on your phone, the phone and watch need to be communicating via Bluetooth in order for any notifications to work. Of course it does not have gps inside the watch. It says clear in the specs: CONNECTED GPS which is not = with BUILT IN GPS. So no wonder here. Everyone read the specs

Hello, can anyone confirm that it tracks heart rate all of the time? Or does it only track when it senses you’re exercising/sleeping? I find my Fitbit is good at tracking HR and steps, but I really like the look of the withings.

No it doesn’t track the heart rate all the time, only in exercise mode. It does continuously scan for signs of AFIB though.

Kind of late to the party, but I bought mine without reading any reviews. It counts fine if you go on a walk. It does not count well if you ate pushing a shopping cart, stroller or lawn mower. It does not count strolling around your house well. It like a strong active movement. I wore it and a pedometer today while doing housework, and it gave me 1/3 of the steps the pedometer did. I like it, but i wish it worked better. I don’t like the look of most smart watches.

I don’t actually wear the watch to bed, so I’m not sure if it the alarm would wake me up. The vibration is pretty strong though. I have just tested the alarm for you and there is no snooze, when it goes off you can click the button to switch it off.

Hi Milena, I think that’s a great idea, because yes, the watch shows the heart rate all day round. You just click the button to wake up the watch and then you turn the dial to get to the ‘Heartrate’ screen. It’s very easy to read - it is in BPM and it says how many minutes ago (it’s always less than 10 minutes, I think the watch takes the measurements every x minutes) it took the measurement and if you want to see what’s your heart rate RIGHT NOW, you just click or give it 2 seconds and the watch takes another measurement.

These watches are garbage. The crystal breaks with the slightest tap I now get steam inside of my lens on my watch I was given it as a gift so I can't play but looking At the price of these watches they're making a heavy profit off of garbage
