I rarely post comments but just wanted to tell you I bought a electric violin a few years back never really did anything with it the bow got broke years ago but I've been binge watching you and twosetviolin I was inspired my new bow came in last week it's a 10 dollar bow but a 10 dollar bow is better than no bow so I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to pick up my violin again after years of not playing

Thank you so much for your video. The finer the violin the more graduation the luthier has made on the wood and therefore the wood is lighter since it’s been carved out more.

I'm soooo excited!! I got the Holstein Traditional Cannone coming in the mail, as a graduation gift. It is going to be quite the upgrade from my 5th grade $150 violin that I was still using. I needed a violin that "I can die with" and take me "right to the end" :) The "end of all violins". Now I can practice my 3rd position without it sounding horrendous and screechy.

Hello, I am very interested in learning, however in terms of money, I was curious to know how much (ballpark) I would be investing per month into a violin in terms of care and maintenance. Thank you very much, your videos are very appealing and they’ve made me extremely intrigued.

So you'll need a violin outfit, and a course. Cost of violin can literally be anything - the more you spend the better it will be, so don't get anything nasty or you'll give up within the first month as you will constantly be fighting against the rubbish violin. Second, my course is complete and costs. $59.99 as a one off payment. Guarantees to take you from complete beginner to an accomplished intermediate level. Thats it. No other running costs per se.

Fiddlerman seems to have dropped all the Cecilo cheapos - violins, double basses, everything. For those interested in cheapos, Cecilio is a fairly big deal (and of course Mendini, the same thing, sort-of). The Amazon price for natural finish double basses dropped by a factor of two. The firm the eBay and Amazon instruments come from, KKMusic, just has the small stuff (ie, violins) listed on site but the bigger ones are gone. Very odd. I have a Cecilo double bass of recent manufacture, and for a student instrument, it's far from the worst bass I've seen. I wonder what's going on.

Cecilio appears to be gone, and so far are most of their instruments! They have a few Cecilio Violin‘s at KK Music that they decided (or have left over) to sell, but I don’t know if they’re gonna be taking over manufacturing for more or not, maybe when they’re done, they’re done.. but seems like Cecilio is definitely out and a thing of the past. KK rep was very vague about the whole thing, so I’m thinking there is more of a story here. All they would tell me about the business end of things was that whatever they had listed on their site is what they were offering for sale.

Fiddlerman posted a video saying they no longer recommend Cecilio because there quality has dropped a lot and is very inconsistent from one instrument to the next.
