In reference to the stainless sinks. I call it “tea spotting”They are contaminated possibly with steel wool or some kind of scrubby pad make sure you use a stainless steel pad or a scotch bright pad to clean your sinks.
@ExactlyErica3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your suggestion. We haven’t used any type of sponge on the sink. So not sure what’s causing it.
@richardmain80593 жыл бұрын
It could be a manufacturing defect, which occurs when the manufacturer doesn’t remove all the metal contamination prior to the plating process, the contamination reveals itself as rust. You can use some green Scotch Bright Pads to remove the rust stain but it will come back because the surface is flawed with contamination ie. microscopic metal fragments that were not removed during the manufactures cleaning process prior to plating. Airstream should replace the subject sinks under warranty.

We just traded or 2020 23' Flying Could FB in for a 2021 27'Flying Cloud FB. The 23' was our 1st ever RV, and so we were learning.What we found was that in most of the places we camped, the best view from the 23' was when you were sitting on the toilet. The other thing was in the 23', the queen bed is turned sideways, so when my wife had to get up in the middle of the night to check out the fabulous view from the toilet, she had to crawl over me and usually one of our dogs. This is the first time I've seen any of your videos. Good job. I'd be very disappointed in the sinks. Airstream has found a manufacturer that makes them look like stainless steel. Stainless steel is a real eye catcher when shopping for an RV. Stainless steel doesn't rust. Anyone would be duped into thinking they were getting SS, unless they carried a little magnet. A magnet will not stick to non-ferrous metal. SS is a non-ferrous metal. If you have a magnet, try it out. I like your floor. I like the placement of the bathroom. Privacy is good, playing the radio is also a good way to disguise nature.

Great video. Every RV in some way is a compromise. Airstreams should last virtually forever if well taken care of but its a trailer and does require some hitching/unhitching. A class A or class C obviously no hitching/unhitching unless you get a vehicle to tow behind and then your back to that. But then with a motor home you have an engine that will need repair/maintenance and depreciation with the miles on the motor. And even the multimillion dollar rigs still require you to handle the hookups to some degree so I don’t know any way to avoid it completely. Beyond that, an Airstream is in our future someday when we decide to upgrade since they are timeless and have longevity and don’t depreciate nearly as much as other rigs. Congrats on the AS though. They are great!

Was going to post a similar reply. The rust stains indicates rather low quality stainless steel. With Covid there may have been a drop in quality from Airstream's sink supplier. It's good you have it on video, I would take the evidence back to your Airstream dealer and ask them to make it right. Hopefully the next shipment of sinks Airstream receives is higher quality, and they can swap out your sink for one that is actual good quality stainless steel. For comparison, the stainless sink in my kitchen is 15 years old and has never had a speck of rust, and it's wet most of the time.
