Absolutely great points! One that I think that gets overlooked often is don't sleep with clients. A reputation of an artist can quickly get ruined and a shops name tarnished because of it. If you want to be a rockstar learn guitar 😂

Put out everything you need for a tattoo but....... don't pour any ink or open a pack until the client is in the studio!

I have exactly the same superstition! If you pour anything, they'll no show!! p

Interesting point on the sponsorships. Completely agree, but I have also found random companies offering me sponsorships when I've never used their products too. Uessing just to lure in more custom and to help launch their product, but that's something I find weird too!!

Great episode love the advice it’s so appreciated. So down to earth and funny. My story is… Were here in flagstaff Arizona in our little 14ft toy hauler trailer sat on the back deck with a soon to be whiskey and ice, looking up at the moon which is sneaking up through the the woodland of pine trees, anticipating the “Overland Expo West” next weekend. My dream is to be able to tattoo off grid using solar power and working in harmony with nature as much as I can. But in all honesty the powers that be… might 💩 on it 😂 but I’m going to give it a darn good go.

Love this post from you guys, and support it in every aspect! Loved the reference to Mr.Joshua Carlton since he have been my inspiration from the start with his lost edges and amazing contrasts in his work. As a self-taught tattooist myself, I really endorse what you mention about being you in every aspect, and not follow the crowd if that feels wrong to you...I made it my kind of "brand" to be totally honest to my customers regarding my opinion in the matter at hand, even if it's the opposite of their description..but then always with a constructive explanation of my statement, and that it's just one man's opinion based on experience and personal taste..so..reject it or consider it, either way I've at least been giving them an unfiltered and honest answer, and that has as a result given me more credit and loyal customers in return. And...I don't have to "act" differently no matter the clientele in order to try to "please" them. I'm just being true to me...and I'll never change that. Keep up the good work with your channel guys! Kind regards Christoffer.

Just a thought! Im a artist as well as tattooist. I wonder if down the track they will pull artist supplies too. Lets face it. we handle pencils, Paints, inks and so on. We breath in micro pigments and they can absorb through our skin. They are in some cases dangerous. So we should never put our pencils in our mouths while drawing. Anyway, maybe im thinking to much into this lol! Love your show

Can you make a "pro-team" of just awesome artists who just give people advice without all the ego drama and actually help each other? 🤔 That's something I could get into.

Thanks guys as usual a great show. Really awesome tips. I’m starting my apprenticeship this Thursday and can’t be more excited. Any advice for someone getting into the industry at 34?

Head down and work hard. Also remember Bob Tyrell didn’t start tattooing till he was around 35.

As always another great show, always look forward to the content you guys come up with.I ordered some raw pigments to try out because of the show lol. It would be cool to see like a list or like a my favorite things to use while tattooing from you guys. What products do you guys use or prefer for your tattoos rite now Obviously things change as new things come out. But I agree with you guys not every sponsorship is worth it either because it limits you from possibly trying different products that might possibly help your tattoos. I was sponsored by a machine company and one of the stipulations was you had to constantly promote their machine and you couldn’t try or use anything else and I was part of the company for about five years then the whole wireless tattoo machines came about and the concept was very interesting long story short I ended up trying one really liked it so I left my sponsorship and purchased the machine and that’s what I use today. Also thanks for answering all the flux and exo questions Chris And thanks for all the info on the brothers printer finally got it working proper.

Would you guys say the Flux is a one machine to do it all if you don't do realism ?
@ThatTattooShow3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, one of our artists in the studio only uses the flux for everything. (Chris)

Yep. It's my go to for everything except building colour or shades. I use a 2.5mm Exo for that stuff. Bit softer. p

Where is the link for the form to fill in to save the pigments??
if i could go back in time and give myself some advice i would have two important things to say. Don't force yourself to deal with a karen, you'll get a bad review either way, and buy bitcoin.
