@@FaresKsebati breaking the Olympic record in two different disciplines on the same night certainly surprised me. Winning gold twice on the same evening is something not even Phelps attempted. Léon not just succeeded, two Olympic record in the course of like 2 hours is insane.

I’m really amazed by Marchand’s achievement, especially the 400IM, it was a great performance, AND I believe it was a clean race. However, after seeing Phelps’ praise, I’m really disappointed at his reaction. I totally understand Phelps’ pride and joy towards Marchand AND Finke in the 1500 M free, but Pan did the same feat in the 100M freestyle (breaking the WR), but was pointed fingers by Phelps. Marchand breaking Phelps’ WR was an amazing feat, but Pan breaking his very own record clean was also a great performance that should be recognized worldwide. I hope Phelps, the swimmer that I once admired so much esp. during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, could give more credit and stop pointing fingers at Chinese swimmers. It’s not like only Westerners are able to break records and the Chinese (or athletes not from Europe or the U.S.) can’t, everyone has the chance to stand on top of the podium and an opportunity to shine, if they are willing to give all their effort in the sport. The Olympics should be all about the athletes and their performances, not politics.

Marchand’s coach is Bob Bowman, better known as Phelps’ coach throughout his career. Of course Phelps is going to cheer for Marchand. They’re pretty close judging by interviews. Bobby Finke is an American. Phelps is an American. Of course Phelps is going to cheer for Finke, especially considering the rest of the US men’s team was a bit weak compared to normal performance. From what I understand, Phelps has no connection to Pan. Why would he cheer for Pan just as much as he cheers for the other two swimmers?

When: 1) 23 Chinese swimmers were controlled positive to some forbidden substances just few months before the 2021 Tokyo Olympics but they were able to compete without clear justification given. 2) This is the only WR beaten during the Paris Olympics (in swimming), in a pool described as "slow" as it is not very deep and moreover, the record is beaten by 0,46 seconds (which is HUGE) on a 100m distance. Having doubts doesn't seems to me so scandalous. - Did he cheats ? We don't know - Does the testings not being positives todays prove he is clean ? No it's not (like Lance Armstrong in cycling)

The haters say that Marchand missed an anti-doping test which is false... Marchand warned the authorities that he was not sleeping in the Olympic village but in a hotel next to the swimming pool with other members of the French team elsewhere... The people from the anti-doping control came at 5am to the Olympic village and made a mistake even though they had the information... The very early in the morning control was not planned in the protocol and Marchand did not miss any after each race there is an anti-doping control

because that will be too easy, cold water creates resistance so it’s good to practice

it is too relaxing, swimming in such hot temperatures is impossible, 50m and you will be fuming. Ideal temps are about 26.5 degrees celsius. It wont give you hipotermia nor overheating. Keep in mind that a hot tub might have 40 degrees celsius, so imagine trying to swim 1500 in close temperatures to a hot tub.

here is the explaination : "Sure, big swiming teams like France have arranged rentals closer to the swiming pool for top atheletes competing on several category to help them to rest and save on comute time between two races. Marchand used that facility to had a better sleep. After Gold medal and before going to bed he went to the doping test in the swiming pool as usual and then went to the flat next door to sleep. The tester were willing to have a sample from him also in the early morning but instead of waiting him at the flat or at the swiming pool went to his room at the Village And when Marchand arrived in the swiming pool they did not ask for the sample either. They are supposed to be pro I guess Anyway with the tens of sample they have the know his profile. And be sure Phelps had someone else in mind when talking about doping ? Red doping "

Please check the fact before commenting and spreading false information, Léon didn’t try to hide or evade any drug test.
