I went to see Prince at the Alladin in December 2000. I was coming in from Orange County, CA and it wasn't too cold. I didn't pack clothes for chilly weather. The morning after the show, I leave the Mirage-where I stayed-and DAMN it was kold...so cold I misspelled the word "cold". I told my friends when I got back: "Vegas gets cold?". They all laughed.

I have to say I hear a lot about Monsoon season, the average rainfall is under .5 inches for July, I come out every year, have seen what they call monsoons, it is generally pretty quickly gone. I would say its possible, but you can reasonably expect to be at the pool every day.

To me the weather is such a big reason why I want to move to Vegas. I’m from Alberta so I understand when you say the weather jumping back and forth we span from -45 to about +47 (-49 - +116 f). And we can have beautiful hot weather and then snow in late May. To me the weather here is absolutely depressing, it gets so ridiculously cold in the winter and I like the heat. Vegas gets weather though and I like that, I don’t just wanna be in 75 year round, I like storms and rain and I like a bit of snow. I love the sun and the heat so I think Vegas has perfect weather!
@bloqk165 жыл бұрын
@Brynlee Hassan . . . I live near Las Vegas, where an aspect I always notice when winter arrives: I see many vehicles with Alberta Province license plates around Vegas. I've been told that the winter stays of Canadians in Vegas really depends on the monetary exchange rates between the two countries. What I find peculiar is the lack of BC Province license plates in Vegas during winter. I found out last year, from a visiting couple from Vancouver, where I was told that BC residents will generally travel to the Hawaiian Islands in winter. A nice aspect of Winter weather in Vegas is in the aftermath of stormy weather: As the region recovers quickly, with dry, mild, sunshine weather within a couple of days after the stormy weather has struck . . . with little to no residual affects of the area being struck with stormy weather. In other words, it dries out quickly in the Vegas region in winter.

Number 6 flooding does happen on the road to the airport and the airport itself. I was flying out after a monsoon and the plane had to change gates just to refuel because of flooding. I think this was in the late 90s.

Hi Jacob! Yes the weather was interesting when I was visiting last for for Memorial Day week. Last Tuesday I visited Red Rock Canyon and it started to sprinkle and then rain. Then later that evening heading back on the strip it lightly rained for like an hour while I went zip lining at the Linq. However, when I visited the same time last year it was just hot the whole time.

My brother has been to Vegas with me twice, the first time was in July of 2011 and the 2nd time was in November of 2017. He made the mistake of thinking it would be warm even though it was November and decided to only pack shorts and T-shirt’s. He found out real fast that he was wrong and ended up having to buy some jeans the first day of that trip. I’ve been at least once in every month so have a bit of an idea of what to expect at least.

Jacob great informative video. Its just crazy that it was warmer in Indianapolis on NYE at 61 degrees than it was in Vegas in the 40s. OMG! During one of my trips to Vegas I found out about monsoon season! I was on the strip planning to take a bus to downtown and suddenly it looked like a Texas size t-storm was going to hit. Must admit I was quite a bit freaked out so I spent that afternoon in a bar at NYNY! Still had a hell of a good time!

A side story to this are the enormous catch basins in and around the Valley. There are two of them just South of me. One on the South West Corner of Cheyenne & Simmons. And that connects to another on the South West Corner of Carey & Simmons. These things are HUGE. The one on Carey there have been earth movers making that one deeper. Kinda scary actually.

Great points. I don't think many people understand how the weather works up here and just think it's crazy hot and sunny in the Valley year round.Two things I'd add to this would be September thru November can be windy as well(so spring and autumn is Windy season here in the Valley) and also October is a major transition month.October 1st can be around upper 90s maybe low hundreds,but then Halloween time can be about 40-65 degrees.It's kind of like no fall out here but the other 3 seasons with some minor twists definitely happen here in LV Great video and keep up the fantastic informative videos Jacob 👌🏿

Sounds like a dream. If Vegas gets a little wind, a half inch of snow, a couple inches of rain, and cold temps are in the 20's and that's the worse case scenario, I'm definitely moving there. Where I live, it gets so cold you walk outside and feel sharp pain in your lungs. A couple years back we had a snowstorm that dropped over 30 inches and a couple years before that, floods that were up to my trucks hood. No exaggeration. The winters used to be worse, too. I remember getting snow in October every year. I might actually enjoy seeing snow once or twice a year if we only get an inch or less. At least I wouldn't need to get up 2 or 3 hours early just be to work on time.
