I went to Tulum for my first ever solo trip and LOVED it! I plan on going back again soon to repeat everything I did. Zip lining, canoeing, cenotes, energy healing massage and even got to interact with monkeys. Amazing experience. For food, OMG! Charly’s Vegan Tacos is amazing!

Mexico is gorgeous. Been twice and both times to the Riviera Maya. As I'm a non-swimmer, I can't do the cenotes but I did try snorkelling with the help of a lovely lifeguard at x-hel (think I spelt that wrong). Unfortunately water got down the tube and down my throat and I had a big panic attack. At least I had ten mins in the water which I'm proud of. Going back over there in 2020 and staying at Royal Tulum Hotel. X

Heading to Tulum in a couple days and looking forward. Two questions: hearing some crazy stuff about tainted alcohol. Is this something I should worry about? Secondly, I’m somewhat concerned about getting montezuma’s revenge while there! Is Tulum any better than other areas in Mexico with regard to food and water or about the same?
@PierreTL6 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul. Can't help you much as we never heard any of those concerns while we were there. All went well :)
@NLR7596 жыл бұрын
Are you staying at a resort? I have only ever stayed at resorts, and never had problems with montezuma's revenge. The resorts serve only filtered water, but I did brush my teeth with the tap water, and was just fine. I also ate fresh fruit and salads at the resort restaurants and had no gastrointestinal issues what so ever.

I'm currently in tulum and the prices of entrance to cenotes are misleading some saying like 50 USD. That is not true and if so someone's lying to you/trying to make a profit.
@PierreTL7 жыл бұрын
WOW really?! Yeap that's totally not the price. Can you share which Cenote it is in?
@Gresaaa7 жыл бұрын
PierreTL I went to the gran cenote and I paid 160 pesos for entrance
@Gresaaa7 жыл бұрын
They'll try to trick you at your hotel, for example my family of 4 went to chichen itza, the tour guide lied and said it will cost about 160 USD EACH for us to go inc taxi. Not only was that bullshit, but it cost maybe 200 USD for our whole family to go (inc a 2 hour journey with taxi and the driver waited for us and then took us to Coba and waited for us and then took us home) so there ya go.
